Yeah, I agree... it's a great tip for destination if you wanna relax for a 2-3 days and enjoy your time in some old bar. I've been there by mistake and I found a quite, peaceful town. For something it remined me of Melaka in Malaysia, for it's chinese temples and presence. But if you really wanna go out of the track and find some relaxing spots in the south of Thailand, Songkla and Hat Yai are your place :)
That’s right brother. It’s a nice relaxing place with not much noise and friendly people. I spent the day there and explored the old town. Next time I will stay newr the beach abit more 👍🏼😎🙏🏽
Oh, my friend’s family lives down there. I’d like to visit. The US Deprtment of State asks travelers to avoid the deep south (I’m sure you know that), so you probably won’t find many visitors there. Excellent video.
Howdy 👋🏼 this part of Thailand really is a hidden gem. I’ve seen the travel warnings from the Australian Government and this area is exempt. Maybe US travel warnings are abit more strict. Either way I hope you get out there soon and enjoy this nice place ☺️✌️
@@hussmeister- It looks fantastic there. I like how you highlight the cultural aspects, geography and art. We are on the same wavelength. I’ll be following your journey.
I might go there if I had been living in Thailand for many years and seen all other places. But for tourists on a 2-4 weeks visit, this place might not rank very high on my priority list. Thanks for the info though. 😊
Hey there! 👋🏼 I hear what you are saying. For the curious adventurer Hat Yai is a real delight. 6 hour bus ride from Phuket and half that from Krabi. ☺️

Very cool video mate - the lake & the old town is certainly worth checking out even for an overnighter - Thanks my friend ✔️✌️👍👋🙏
Here he is! Definitely worth checking out. It also makes your Thailand trip more interesting seeing new places 😎👍🏼🙏🏽🇦🇺
Awesome video of the historic old town. Once again, I don’t know much about that region. Thanks for giving us the tour 👍🏼
Glad you enjoyed the video. This region has quite a rich history and more relaxed than some of the other areas. Worth a visit 👍🏼
Why isn’t this lake promoted more? I never knew that Thailand’s biggest lake is in the south 4:00
You raise a good point. I’d say because mainstream tourism has been focused on other parts of Thailand.
Had no idea there’s a huge lake in Thailand. Neat!
Howdy 👋🏼 It’s seriously massive and you struggle to see the othet side 🫡

I wonder what’s the most common fish caught in the lake
Heaps of seafood in the area as Songkhla also borders the sea and it’s cheap. I did see alot of shrimp and lobster 🦞😎
