I live in Thailand on the border of Laos. There are more things that are similar, than different especially in the Isaan region of Thailand.

A small bit of generalization when it comes to nightlife. If you want late night clubs or bars in Laos you will find them.

If you don't understand, think of North and South Korea. But I didn't say that Laos is like North Korea, just want to explain the relationship between both. People of both countries remain good relations and along border there are many relatives.

It sure seems that Japan, Thailand, the Philippines get the majority of attention on YT re: travel/holiday in the East. So, this video is helpful to broaden one's mind and brainstorm for travel. Thanks for making and uploading it.

I was just in Thailand for three months. I absolutely loved the country and the people. Unfortunately i had to go back to the u.s. for a family health emergency or i would have visited Laos. Hopefully ill be able to go to asia again soon so i can visit Laos and Vietnam.

Your view is unfair. The major cities in Laos that you visited = Local province in Thailand and you visut to local province in Thailand yet? Not just exploring the major cities in Thailand which are much bigger than Laos. And of course, the silence in Laos because there are only 7 million people and lack many factors. Westerners tend to like Laos because it still looks original and hasn't changed much. But what you think is the opposite of the locals who want to develop and progress like other countries. But they have to put up with this kind of life because the Lao government cannot improve their quality of life. Please explore how difficult the transportation is for them while Westerners like you think it is a good thing.

What do you mean when you say Laos is cheaper than Thailand? In Vientiane it is twice as expensive as Thailand. And why do you think so many cars from Laos cross the border to shop in Udon Thani, Nong Khai, and Khon Kaen in Thailand?

I think you did a good job in seeing some differences and poiting them out. Well done after a relatively short time in this beautiful country.

its not nice to compare but thai people arent so nice. laos people are also a bit more beautfiul. go to laos. support laos its so wonderful. maybe the nicest people in the world. laos beer IS AMAZING

Depends on which part of Thailand. North East Thailand (Thai Esane) is ethniclly Lao descendants who was born and live there. That region long time ago was part of Laos, until the Thai king stole it. Main land Bangkokers are different from Laos. Language is some what similar.
