Too funny. This guy is obviously no mechanic judging by the way he handles tools. You probably want to use blue loctite as described in the Graco manuals, not white pipe thread sealant. Also, be sure to follow the Graco manual for proper adjustment of the trigger to avoid injection hazard with the trigger lock engaged. In this video the needle was not fully seated when the locknut was installed. That's why the readjustment had to be done once the trigger lock was disengaged and the trigger pulled, you can also see the the needle did not even make it through the plastic insert of the locknut on the first attempt. I tell all of my repair guys to always push down on the front of the needle against their workbench to ensure it's full seated before installing the locknut and diffuser. Rookie mistake.

Hi Neil - Thanks so much for your comment. You are absolutely right - the star is a rookie. We find that there is a wide variety of users out there so we want to speak to the non-pros as well. Yes, absolutely - We always tell our customers to check the OEM instruction manuals. Maybe you saw that at the start of the video? I have it pasted below as well. We actually like that the star didn’t get the parts together in that one instance right away and kept it in the video. To us, it means that everyone should know that it’s a process and that learning is the idea behind the product demonstration. Our hope is that our products can be used by anyone. If you have any questions at all please feel free to contact us! You can call us toll free at 1-888-BEDFORD or email sales@bedfordprecision.com. Thanks again!
NOTE: Before ordering any repair parts, verify all part numbers in the OEM instruction / repair manuals that came with your particular unit.
Before attempting any maintenance, carefully read all instructions and warnings in the OEM manuals that came with your particular unit.

@@bedfordprecision7322 I appreciate the response. When I teach my mechanics to perform a specific repair I show them the correct way and do it per the manuals. If they slack off and stray from the procedure I do re-training. An incorrectly assembled or adjusted gun is just dangerous and puts my customers' safety at risk and cannot be tolerated. As the manufacturer putting out a demonstration video, Bedford above all others should be advocating adherence to details and procedures, not demonstrating potentially dangerous practice.
