Thanks for the video! I've "learned" to tear the whole gun down at the end of a paint session and manually clean the internal parts. In the 2 or 3 years since it was purchased, I had only blown out the gun with water to clean it, and had not yet disassembled it. Although it still worked, there was paint build up inside the chambers and the needle (part 1b) showed signs of rust. I replaced the needle with one from kit 288817 as mentioned in your comment below. Very important not to soak the gun in water as mine suffered corrosion as a result.

The only thing I'd do differently is to install the "seat with the o-ring on the back", the paint tip is actually a tool to reinstall the seat. Simply place the seat on the protruding pin on the end of the paint tip and push it upwards into position. (there are several youtube videos on this).

Thank you so much for this video; I thought I had lost a part, but maybe not. I guess the first gun I used wasn't a SG3 , so maybe that is why I was confused about missing part. Again, thank you for taking the time to make this video.

No one goes over this gun, ( which is one of THE most common ones now) however it is still missing how you get into the inner housing which I can't figure out since I'm trying not to break it.

Thanks, being a part time users of my X7, once ever 3 years it seems, I forgot what that little o-ring / metal part was for. Graco fails to mention it in the quick start guid property, it's a tiny little picture of it and there was no way I was going to RTFM right :)

Thanks...to clean my filter I was trying to remove the nuts on the bottom of the handle...did not know the grip just spins off.

I read sg3 guns have a built-in swivel not mentioned in your video

Yours had a different filter then the part number in the book calls for the one end doesn't have that white tip. Mine also has a white nylon seat goes above the filter seats into, but I keep getting leaks from the filter handle where it goes into the valve body. This gun is cheap POS but reality is I never clean it well when done I hate painting it's a PITA easier to just pay someone to make a mess.

How do you adjust the handle? Mine seems loose and I want it to engage right away

It sounds like the needle/spring may be worn out. I would recommend the repair kit 288817, which includes both a new needle assembly and seat.
