Beautiful project, the only thing I’d like to suggest is a closer view of what you’re doing, otherwise very clear instructions, thx for adding to my make list
Oh I think I just figured out what I have been doing wrong for the last 2 days and it's not my stitch count but as it has been brought up already the fact that you are not recording up close enough for me to follow easily
Such a beautiful pattern 😍 and the center V stitches look like butterflies 💜 Also...in my old age, í don't trust myself to notice those center/corner V stitches, stitch markers are a must anymore lol- even if I have to use bread bag ties, paper clips, safety pins, bobby pins...or regular stitch markers, I use them
This is very very beautiful. I'm already making for myself with parrot green color too with your crystal clear instruction. I'm loving it. Thank you for sharing this beautiful design.
This is an absolutely gorgeous poncho :) I spent 2 days watching your tutorial and think I finally got it. Tried it with several different yarns but a 4 weight yarn works best ( like your cotton yarn) to really bring out the flower definition. (Don't know if they sell the one you are using here anymore...did a search but couldn't find it). I didn't have enough cotton yarn to start this project at the moment so am just using a 4 weight acrylic and it's coming out beautifully. I found that roving yarns will not work very well in case anyone else wants to try this. But anyhoo, just wanted to thank you for this lovely tutorial and awesome pattern! Haven't seen any other ponchos like this on youtube so I appreciate your hard work and for bringing this to us crocheters :) Am having a lot of fun doing this...it's simple and challenging enough to really keep me interested! Thank you again so much!
I'm so glad you enjoyed it! I appreciate the positive feedback. :) It's definitely a lot of pieces to fit together, and I think a bit intimidating at first - thanks for sticking it out! But like you said, once you get into the groove, it's simple and challenging at the same time.
Love the coral orange color of the poncho at the beginning of the vídeo. Could you pelase tell which yarn and color you used for it? Thanks in advance. This work is gorgeous! Thanks for sharing.
Hello! Thank you very much for sharing this pattern. I made one with yellow thread and it has turned out beautifully. My friends too loved it. God bless and keep safe🙏🏻🙏🏻
3 ply cotton should work, but you may have to adjust your hook size to get the gauge right. To change the size you would start off with a different number of foundation single crochets, in multiples of 18, which will decrease or increase the number of flower motifs by 2.
Wow it's a very beautiful pattern! I'm curious, is this stitch pattern one that you designed? You make it look very easy to work up! LoL The yarn is very pretty as well. Thank you so much for sharing. Btw I am a new subscriber. Have a blessed day. 🌷🌺🌸
Thanks so much for subscribing! I'm so glad you like the pattern! Also, I really appreciate your question because I should have included some more information in the video description, which I will update. My pattern is a modification of a flower stitch I found on Pinterest, which led me here: inspirations-tricot-crochet.blogspot.com/2016/05/20-points-ajoures-au-crochet-pour-une.html That website led me to a UA-cam video that worked through the pattern: ua-cam.com/video/4hspXPYNS2Q/v-deo.html (It's in Spanish, but not difficult to follow along!) I made some changes to the pattern (chain 3 in place of chain 5 in a few places, for example), figured out how to work the pattern in the round instead of rows, and worked out the "corner stitches" that act as increases to the rounds.
I haven't tried doing this as a shawl because I find working in the round easier than working rows back and forth. I modified the stitch found in this video, which does work rows back and forth: ua-cam.com/video/4hspXPYNS2Q/v-deo.html . It's in Spanish, but it's easy to follow along. Maybe you could mash up the two patterns, starting with two flower motifs and a corner V stitch in between to get your increases?
This is beautiful, and your instructions are clear. I would like to make this for a 5 year-old girl. I think a 60-or-so-stitch neck is big enough. Is 10 a proper multiple for this pattern? Or is it 9? Thanks.
Hi, I'm so sorry for the delayed reply! Your comment slipped by me. The multiple for each flower is 9, but to make sure the two halves are the same, you have to do 2 flowers, so the multiple is really 18. As written the pattern starts with 5 flowers on each half, so 10 flowers total. 10 x 9 = 90 FSC to start. To cut out a flower on each side, for example, 8 flowers total, you should start with 8 x 9 = 72 FSC. (Or 90-18=72, however you want to think about it). For round 1, instead of working 89 and joining on the 90th, work 71 and join on the 72nd. To start with only 6 flowers on each side, 6 x 9 = 54, or 72-18=54. FSC 53 and join on 54th). That's probably closer to your 60 stitch estimate. 72 might be too big. But you could try 72 with a lighter weight yarn, smaller hook, or both to get the gauge just right. I hope this helps and isn't too late!
@@handyfinch3376 Thanks. I figured out that it was 18 after reading the written instructions. I started with a 60 cast-on and then increased in the second row of sc to 72.
Thanks for the feedback! Sorry it's hard for you to see. Maybe try watching it in full screen mode on a larger screen, like a desktop, if you weren't already? You also might find this tutorial helpful: handyfinch.com/create/flower-stitch-granny-square-market-bag It's a slightly different pattern, but the same flower stitch. I took a lot of step by step pictures instead of doing a video. In conjunction with the poncho video, it might help clarify some of the parts you couldn't make out. Hopefully the crochet charts on the poncho pattern webpage (handyfinch.com/create/flower-stitch-poncho-crochet-pattern) will help, too.
Thanks for the feedback! Can you be more specific about what isn't clear? E.g. the video quality, that it is hard to see what I did, or just the wording in general? If you haven't already, I strongly recommend checking out the pattern details here: handyfinch.com/create/flower-stitch-poncho-crochet-pattern Hopefully the charts and written instructions can help clarify any confusion!

I agree. Even on full screen it’s too far away for those of us who have sight problems. Great other than that 😉
I agree too far.. BUT beautiful !!!
Having troubles with the B ending round and the beginning of round A round row 4 not very clear

Thank You for answering me. I’m stuck on the Corner v on row 4. I love the flower pattern. I’ll get it
Bonjour un zoom aurait été utile, je ne voit rien
Your work is too far away to see the detail,
