The game is not well optimised for PC
it really depends on the platform. I once played it on ps4 with no problem at all while on pc it's just hot garbage
Edit: As much as I love the whole concept of Rivals, if a game is extremely unstable and super frustrating to play then it's just straight up garbage
@@zef9151 I played it on PC, if you remove the 30 fps cap it's not a bad experience at all
I never encountered a lot of these bugs.
But the big issue I had was not being able to properly pause the game (even when disabling online features) and disabling the interactive music. If you wanted to cruise and enjoy the soundtrack you pretty much had to do it as a cop.
And the weird thing is if you went AFK as a racer without pausing, you would be busted without knowing how, despite being at rest. And while driving, if you notice a cop car then you can drive right by him chasing you if the speed is dropped to below 50.
The latter makes perfect sense. That was also a feature in both Most Wanted games.

@@amazingcalvin even though cop ai doesn't start a pursuit with racers doing less than the speed limit, if a cop pursuing an ai racer goes near you, it starts a pursuit, and then eventually other cops will bust you, so that's how it happens.

one thing i hate from Rivals is, can't even chill in free roam, can't even had a time looking at beautiful scenery, the ai cops just wanna bust you no matter what
Use a cop car, you'll be fine.
Same as Most Wanted, except that MW has ugly city instead of beautiful scenery.

this game was just bat-shit fun and enjoyable to play with in my opinion, but it's weird that kuru is getting these bugs I've never seen though

That glitch in the intro. I swear NFS games have gotten so buggy since they made the switch to Frostbite. That same issue has happened to me but in The Run, as well as that one long tunnel in Heat.

One thing to note is how the color grading changes with each environment you enter. This is a really cool feature and I wish they do it more often. And i also like the car sweat
Forza Horizon does this too and I really like it, many people like the second game but the color grading was too intense on this game to the point of looking like a instagram filter, so I hate it. FH3 did the best because Australia has a lot of different biomes so the colors have to match the weather and the location the player is in and it is very subtle. FH4 does not have that many different "scenes" and the location doesnt help, so I didnt notice the colors changing that much.

I remember when TotalBiscuit played this and the game speed was tied to frame rate so capping the frame rate to 60 made the game twice as fast
This game is my return to Need for Speed series after years
And the atmosphere combined with the soundtrack made me fell in love with it
I've never had any bugs in NFS rivals, I must have been missing out.

Also in the ps3 version there were no LoDs. And draw distance was very low which means if you’re going at high speeds you’d see traffic pop up so close to you making it hard to dodge

One of the best need for speeds, its a very good spiritual successor to Hot Pursuit
I always thought it was cool to consider Rivals as a High Stakes sequel.

The first glitch happened, so, so many times to me.
I gotta say, NFS Rivals holds a special place in my heart as my first NFS game
I really enjoyed the car list(that was the only need for speed game to feature a NFS movie mustang) and soundtrack from this game

I really enjoyed this game. Didn't get to play it when it came out but I picked it up about a month ago and I've enjoyed every second of it.
I wish there was more games like that where you can 0lay as cop and proceed with high speed chase
I only played mw 2005 as a kid, and rivals few years ago. I love then both.
I honestly loved playing the Xbox 360 version of this game. It was a less buggy on there. It gave me strong Hot Pursuit (2010) vibes
4:50 I think the game is unloading and loading too many things at once as it looks like a bug I would encounter in la rush where I would go over a spot that makes the game load the next part of the map and unload the previous part of the map, if it’s loading and unloading too much the game would crash.
Edit: looking at 5:22 that’s definitely what happened.
I encounter the same bug in undercover for going way fast a veyron good thing it didnt happen again
Not sure if this game Will run on ps5 as on the new gen consoles. They wont have this issue. On ps4 the games load per section in a linear fashion. On ps5. It will load the entire world as if you were in fact driving through an actual world. Main point. The immersion of being there in the middle of the map.

@@nAcolz Not exactly. Games on ps4 are only loaded per section. Meaning while driving sections load up which is why sometimes the game pauses while loading up the next section. On the ps5. This isnt needed. As the game Will now be loaded as a whole rather than per section. Reducing loading times and improving fps.

its kinda funny that i've actually never experienced any bugs in this game (have it since 2013). i also unlocked 60fps and think of rivals as the best modern era nfs. if it only had more cars and nfs15 like tuning - it would be the perfect game, dark mood is whats sells it

I've finished rivals on xbox one, some game crashes, about once every 3hours, overall a really fun game, I liked it a lot, never had any problem with events glitching out or something
What shatters me is that even today there are people hacking on the multiplayer, cops teleporting and ramming you at the speed of sound are rather common to find in lobbies.
After upgrading my pc to windows 10, when I run the game, it doesn't take input from keyboard after entering the garage. Idk why, but is their anyone who had the same issue? Kindly reply the solution, I didn't find any, on the internet.
If you look past the police ai working against you in chases in cop mode, it's really fun. I never had a bug or game crash myself
The one thing about Rivals that bugged me was that cops could spot you from so far away and reset the pursuit
Well I mean. Every game has that. If they can still see you. Just think. If a player can still see you from far away. Then the pursuit will continue. The Main bug was when the game wouldnt let you escape. It would spawn cops in your FOV
It's actually the game randomly spawning cops to prevent the chase from ending
Rivals was my first console nfs game and I enjoyed it. Its really arcadey with the vehicle warfare but still fun nonetheless
I enjoy that game on xbox one at the time, dont beat the game but a had a good time

This game had the potential of becoming a really good game in my opinion, with maybe more cars for both careers, more customization options, more things to do and a better optimization

As a owner of this game with 30+ hours of game time, I have not experienced one single bug. I mean once I upgreaded my EMP to max level then the game crashed but that's pretty much the only bug I've came across. (btw I play on PC Idk if that means I got a better version).
Im still mad I never got the acr viper as a racer on ps3 & ps4 after purchasing the loaded garage preorder bonus

I played this game on 30 fps and had a blast! I did not even come into it with a possitive mindset because of everything i heard and then go my opinion absolutly 180'd in like an hour of playtime, pure fun.
EDIT: i also completed every single event so i must have been playing an outdated version because *cough* piracy reasons *cough*
Dude people hate on this game way too much, it was great in my opinion. I had great times in this especially on the multiplayer.

They hate it because of the infinite amount of glitches. Once you are glitched, you fall in the void forever, requiring you to restart the game.

The main problem i had with rivals were'nt the bugs, it was how boring it gets once you completed both campaings
This a Great Game. I like Rivals and Hot Pursuit 2010.
These few bugs never happen to me in my version.

Playing on consoles. Not a big issue. But that soft lock is still there but doesnt really crash the game. At least the many and I mean many times I drive there and never does crash ever. Looks like its the only game that suffers on PC but on consoles. Not so much.
Every single glitch that happened in this video, has happened to me as well. I turned off my wifi and they don't happen. Like Ever.
