TSG 4: Season 1 recap and transfers

- Recapping the first season with TS Galaxy of South Africa, who were 14th in the league when we joined the club. Also some transfers in the 'summer' window (sort of the winter window really, it's the Southern Hemisphere, but whatever)
This series is longer-form and more of a let's play than my previous videos, although each video will still make sense standalone.

FM24 squad building approach:
1. Fix the tactic first then recruit for the tactic
2. Squad grid - 2 per position
3. Sort out the finances
4. Player recruitment: Fill gaps, improve weak links (export attribute data from FM using filters then use python to rank and compare)
The scoring app genuinely makes playing FM fun again. Pointing in the direction of players I may want to sign, I've had 3 back to back promotions after being stuck in a massive rut.
Yeah, its so great in helping collating the data available to you when your scouts aren't as good

I'm attempting the pentagon challenge using your methodology - not really played the game much but a big challengegives me a focus. It seems to be working out for me, but I'm having an issue with gaining transfer budget. I won back to back titles with Fukushima United in Japan J3 to J1 and then of course with the ACL starting around October I was most of the way through my 4th season which I also went on to win, so I have at least secured two goes at ACL, but I really find it difficult because I'm getting so little of a transfer budget. Qualified for stage 2 of ACL but still getting a couple of million at most. Studying Continental Pro yet no job offers from the bigger japanese clubs and I'm now hesitant to resign because I've qualified again. Don't know what to do next!! Got S.Africa available aside from Japan then once I won one of them, I'd open up Brazil and / or Mexico. Would welcome any advice.
Two ways to progress a save in that position: (1) be patient and keep winning where you are, which is what I did or (2) get a slightly better job somewhere else with room to develop a club quickly, probably in Europe, then come back to Japan / S Africa once the better (= higher resources) jobs are available to you. If you get it right (2) might help grow your reputation a little faster, which is the underlying point. Pentagon challenge saves are all about building reputation as fast as you can
@squirrel_plays_fof4318 thanks for replying. Tonight, I got a financial buyout and a 4.4m sale with teams interested in at least two more of my players, which I think I could make around 16m on, so my fortunes may have completely changed. I also increased club reputation, having just sealed the domestic quadruple, so the patient approach may just pay off.
