I see this video is about 10 years old. Today, April 18, 2024 I was gifted this singer 20 and she is looking a little rough with a lot of rust. I have never heard of them before until I picked it up today and now I’m doing all kind of research on it. I’m looking forward to watching the rest of your videos. Thank you for sharing your knowledge on this cutie!
I love how people make a youtube channel but never answer questions,,,,nice expert , tooooo good to answer questions , i answer all my viewers, subscriber or not , but im no expert just someone who enjoys sharing conversations about sewing machines ..
I am giving the Singer Sewhandy 20 that I received as a 7th birthday present to my granddaughter for her 7th birthday; however, the tension was off. I was able to adjust it thanks to your video. I am putting together Corona mask kits as something easy for her to make. Thank you!!!!
I have a Singer toy machine (20-10). The issue I am having is that the mechanism underneath does not "release" the chain stitch. The thread keeps adding upon itself and will not create the chain. Any advice on how to fix this? ( I got this machine from my son as a Christmas gift-- he loves finding antiques. I'd love to get it working again!)
I am looking for a picture of the friction pulley releasing lever. I have the 20-2 toy model. Is thee a place that might carry these levers? or, any place I can get a picture and measurements of this piece?
I work on the big ones and now I want one of these and I have bought one it's a gennaro but it looks just like the ones he was showing I heard most of them were basically alike can't wait to get it
How do you find the value of an Antique Singer with a "Patented April 1886" plate and Serial# H1401271? Is it the Machine Class Model 15? Jan 2 1906? What would be the value?
I just a 1953 or so Sewhandy. It has all its parts and looks great but doesn't sew. Should the hand wheel go around smoothly? It has two places where you have to push a little harder. There is so little to it. I'm frusr.
Hi Alex when is that tension release on top supposed to lift? Is it supposed to only lift near the top on the stroke or for most of the stroke or when? Any help is greatly appreciated
24 x 1 for I believe every Sewhandy model except the 50D which requires the obsolete 24 x 3 ( but there is a technique which allows you to substitute the 24 x 1 needles). Organ currently makes the 24 x 1 needles in many sizes.
No. The foot is designed to protect children from the needle. It cannot be exchanged for any other standard Presser Foot or Attachment. The only attachment that is designed for it is the Cloth Seam Guide. It’s much smaller than the one for adult machines (as is the screw and screw hole in the machine bed). It’s also a chain stitch only machine.
Hi Alex. Do you have an e-mail address please? Do you have a Singer 30 in your collection? if so, would you be able to do a video on it please? Many thanks Richard
I sent him one too some time ago but also got no response. Perhaps he gets so many people writing to him he just can't keep up with it and decided not to answer emails?

What a sweet gift for your 7 year old. 🥂
Fantastic information. I didn't know the correct alignment for the nipper lever. Now I know what adjustment I need to make. Thank you so much!!!!!
I just got a little black one! No clamp, though. Needs oil. Looking forward to making some chain stitch repairs.
Delightful accent and beautiful video. You've also made me quite fond of your whistling. I learned all my heart could want, thank you.
Brilliant you got me started after a Rocketeer and then a 400E I just found a Grasshopper :-)
I quite enjoyed that
Just beautiful! Thanks
I have decal question. If the Memphis Sphinx was not discovered in Egypt until 1912 how did the model 27 have the decal before that date.
Are the singer 20 and the singer sewhandy threaded identically?
Great video Sir !!!👍
Btw what is the price range of this machine??? I'm from India...
Also want to know more about the machanism of this machine...

Would the clamp that holds it to the table also say singer on it?

Alex, how do I then adjust the mechanism that traps the thread? my little Grain is catching several hoops in the shuttle hook and won't sew

My Singer20 now is working... but is so rough. Please, how do I oil it?
Hi Alex. I've got a singer 40k and for some reasons is stopped picking up the loop. Any ideas?
Hello Alex, What size needle does the singer 20 take?
I have a 1953 sewhandy, and I'd like to change the needle. Every needle I've tried is too long. What needle is the right one?

Vc não vende uma máquina Manuel quando custa
Hi can you put a walking foot on this machine?
