My mother passed down a singer e6174125 to me. Its with a table and footpedal. It looks old, but otherwise it runs smoothly (maybe better with some new oil). Is this model familiar to you? She loved it very much. Is there anything you can tell me about it? Love from Norway

I have Swiss Bernina nova 900. Since the last service the hand-wheel is not working. Went back to co who serviced it, they do not understand what is wrong. Can you perhaps help?

I have the same machine that I bought brand new in 1979. Still runs well and I still love it!!!!! It came with the soft cover rather than the hard case.

My parents gave me a Nova 900 in 1979, and it's still going strong. I have the original case, all the feet, and the books. A few months ago I had it serviced at Bernina of Oklahoma City. It's humming and purring just like in the 1970s. I see very few of these machines, but it's hands down the best I've ever used. Thank you so much for this video!!! (Thanks for the info to decode the dates; mine was made in 1977!)

Nice machine! I had always been told that the machine where you had to turn the knob to choose the stitches were not as good quality- had plastic in them, etc. The stitch looks fabulous. Thank you for showing this Toyota machine - maybe I should be a Toyota owner in my sewing room as well as my garage! I hope you are well - prayers for you in all your health concerns.

I have just bought an SP for $5 from a friend of my wife. Hardly used from new. Complete with all the manuals and accessories.

Hello Alex. I watched your video of the Elna Junior and I was so in love with that sewing machine that I bought one. Received yesterday but I can't get it to sew. I've already damaged the metal a bit with my needle. Could it be that it needs to be a shorter needle? I don't know where to find someone here in Belgium who can have my machine sew. I'm a little sad that the sewing machine isn't working. Can you give me advice? Thank you Hilde

Hello, I bought an Elna Junior today but it doesn't want to work. It seems like the needle is too long? What type of needle can I use? Weren't the needles shorter in the past? It also seems that the fabric is not transported or is that only possible with a needle and thread? I don't know who to ask to activate the Elna? Thank you

HOLY COW! I bought a Huskyloc 936 from an online auction. I could not move the hand wheel AT ALL. I oiled the looper and tried to work the oil in by manipulating the hand wheel back and forth. I stopped to let the video play out so I would know what the other main cause was incase this didn't work. I hit play and started moving the hand wheel again and EUREKA. It had already released. Thanks so much. Taught me how important oiling that looper is.

There are so many W&W 9 in the states that selling next to nothing as if 2024. It’s actually a shame really, the machine is soo high quality.

Toyotas have fast become my favourite machine… I have an H870, a Toyota ZigZag that looks exactly like a Morse Fotomatic IV which is my top favourite, and an all-white dressmaker clone that I’m unsure of the model number of.. but they’re so solid and cool looking! This one is gorgeous, I’d love to have one too! I hope you are well today 🫶 Much loveto you…. I love your videos… I discover new things all the time and you have taught me so much, I wish I could come learn from you IRL as you’ve made me discover a real passion for vsm’s!

I just got a new to me 222K from the UK via an Etsy shop! Had to get a USA to UK power converter ,but the machine runs well! I love your video and that you have used a 222K! Am getting a service kit and will follow your video again to service it! Yes! The older machines were designed to be regularly serviced by the homeowner! My new machines are for service techs only! Thank you for the detailed and informative video!

Thank you for such a great tutorial. I just purchased a featherweight and after watching this instructional tutorial I feel like I can service it myself. I already changed the belt and installed a new lightbulb. It sews like a dream already, so once I give it a little oil and cleaning, it will be like new. There was paperwork included with my featherweight that showed it was manufactured in 1951 and was first purchased in Panama. Thanks again. I learned so much from your tutorial.

Hello, i wonder if you can help at all. I have a Bernina virtuosa 150 quilters Edition. Is it possible to access the stitches without using the cd? As this is now obselete. I love my Bernina, have had it for 23 years, but i cannot access the additional stitches. Thank you

Hi Alex I have a Wilcox and Gibbes which I inherited from my mum - it's on a wilcox and gibbes table and is run by pedal - I'm in Australia and the leather has broken that connects the machine to the pedal mechanism - does one of your books help with maintenance?
