Just yesterday found a 28K manufactured in May 1934, with a similar decal set and in gorgeous condition. Exploring it and its large wooden box, I found a letter with its history…from England to Turkey to Spain, to the U.S. Just needs a bit of oiling and picking out a little dust. So looking forward to using this gem with such a nifty story behind it. Have a video out about it with all of its delightful surprises; search for Singer 28 journey Turkey and you’ll find it, I’d guess. Always enjoy your videos. Many thanks!

Lovely machine, such engineering. Clydebank Museum has a great collection of Singers and also some machines from their competitors. My singer is from Kilbowie , 1892, and I think my great grandmother’s is still in use. I don’t have the case, a remember it a bentwood on that was used as a stool. Thanks for always making a viewing so interesting

This is very helpful but you can't really do it when stitching something like a leather bag etc, half of the beauty with leather is the neat stitches, this method makes an ugly mess.

I have a White serger. The model number on it is 523w-1. It is locked up. It moves some but then it doesn't keep going. I can't even make a complete turn of the wheel. I've put one drop of oil in the loopers that you speak of. I'm hoping overnight it will unlock this. Any other suggestions if this doesn't work? Thank you!

Hi Alex - any chance on a video comparing the 185k to the 201k? It's the 3/4 model right? It's an absolute joy coming back to your website and UA-cam for a binge each time I get myself a new (old) Singer. Your vids flexing the 201s strength, and the one sewing a bean tin always make me proud of my 201 haha. I've actually just bought my first modern machine - a second hand budget singer from 2005 or 2011 and it feels like sewing with a toy - I wanted to try out zigzag embroidery and couldn't find a singer in my budget or time frame , so I now also have my first non singer - a Husqvarna Combina II (32 20) to set up! I've heard it's quite the best too and very excited!

Thank you! I just bought a 221K Featherweight off eBay, and this video gave me the confidence to service it myself. It didn't have that nice featherweight stitching sound when I first tested it, and the backstitch lever was stuck, but it runs beautifully now!

My mother passed down a singer e6174125 to me. Its with a table and footpedal. It looks old, but otherwise it runs smoothly (maybe better with some new oil). Is this model familiar to you? She loved it very much. Is there anything you can tell me about it? Love from Norway
