  • No. 16 of 19 - Glueing Sunflowers.
    There are 19 mini films in this series from 'Getting Started' to 'Grouting and Polishing Your Completed Mosaic.'
    In each film will take you step by step through my process for making these bright and cheerful glass mosaics. Using mirror as a base reflects light back through the beautiful colours of the glass which then change shade according to the atmosphere. Once completed your flower mosaic will be 100% weatherproof.

      Julie Doshi Just start with a small tile of mirror and a few shapes of stained glass. It does take a bit of practice but it’s well worth it. Sue

    Your work is stunning! Why don’t you clean the lines made with marker before gluing? Does the silicone clear the black marker if in the underside and later clean the top with alcohol? Just starting out - thank you for sharing 😊🙏🏼

    Love to watch you work! What do you use to clean the silicone from your brushes?

    • @SueSmithGlassMosaics
      @SueSmithGlassMosaics  3 роки тому +1

      I don’t clean the brushes as such. I leave the glue to dry and then I use a very sharp blade to cut the excess glue off. The glue is relatively stiff so rather than bristles you want more of a glue spreader. If you allow the glue to dry on the brush and then gently cut off the excess, the bristols are all glued together and you end up with the equivalent of a glue spreader. You can buy plastic glue spreaders but they are too bendy, this works better for me.

    What kind of adhesive are you using here?

    • @SueSmithGlassMosaics
      @SueSmithGlassMosaics  4 роки тому +3

      Mz.Crystal Hunter It’s silicone. It’s on video No. 1. But tricky to use but works really well once you get used to it. Sue

    Sue what glue are you using here?

      I give all the information about the tools, glue etc., in part 1 of this course. But to answer your question I use silicone.
