Agreed! Generally I'm not much of a pop fan. I lean towards hard rock. But every once in while I'll run across a really good one. This is one of them, and I love the singers voice. I also really like almost anything by Pink so the combination is amazing.
100% agree! In fact, there are TWO great versions of this song... Brad & Lex can bust them both out... one is live and you can hear how AMAZING each of their actual voices are without autotune.... the other version is a cool music video... both below:

The lead singer teamed up on a song with Pink. The song is called Just Give Me A Reason. Great reaction, very surprised Brad knew this song, but it was great to see him smile during the beginning of this song.

Oh I love this song.....such a incredible voice and so fun. It came across my feed years ago randomly and I loved it since. He has a duet he does with Pink called Give Me a Reason....I know y'all will enjoy 🕊️💗
Some of their earlier stuff has some amazing instrumentation. “Be Calm” and “At least I’m not as sad as I used to be” are the songs that got me hooked on this group. Great job as always ❤
This sounds like something you would hear in a commercial for a travel agency. I can imagine the Caribbean waves while someone parasails, the African sunset and a yuppy couple embracing each other on a resort balcony while a giraffe raises its head 😆
This is one of those rare songs that blew my mind the very first time I heard it. I just LOVED it. It kind of reminds me of Big Country. Not the song Big Country, but the big fat hard-ass Scottish drum beats in some of the other songs by the band Big Country, like Fields of Fire for instance. Love that stuff. So great.

The lead singer is Nate Ruess, who is a wonderful vocalist. The other two songs by Fun, and a must listen, are: "Carry On" and "We Are Young" featuring Janelle Monáe. And then you need to listen to the duet he did with Pink called "Just Give Me a Reason". All of these songs are in my playlist. Enjoy!
Known these guys since 2011 and it's sad knowing they aren't producing any music as a group anymore. I definitely recommend The Gambler [Demo] by them. The best and one of the last releases they ever did.

The whole album is fantastic. We heard on of their songs in a commercial and my wife really liked it so I bought her the CD. We opened up and listened. Every song on the album was great.

I can understand the Celtic style of drumming as this was the beat of drumming during civil war and confederates consisted of alot of Irish, Scottish folks. Yes there were European, Nordic also and some Native Indian.

I think this has to be one of the best new bands out there when I first heard them , this is singing, and this is music that just you enjoy listening too, His voice is incredible I mean one of the best vocals I have ever heard I even looked up his other songs because I love his voice so much. This is a great song , This is how music is done and they managed to bring back talent of groups that came out in 70s and 80s The harmony and the voice he has just makes you want to listen and hear more of him

This band was fantastic when they came out. Its too bad they called it quits so early. They had a guitarist that had the balls to play actual half-decent solos and riffs in a pop song. They were the like a modern Queen
When I first heard the song "Carry on" by Fun, I thought it was a new Reo Speedwagon song or one that got by me. The Voices sounded so similar and it got so much airplay. Have not heard much from them lately.

Even though the video is showing people in uniform from the American Civil War, this song makes me think of Scotland, for some reason. Totally get what Lex mentioned about Celtic music.

I’ve never heard these guys before. Neat! Giving me Bastille vibes. If you haven’t heard it, do “Pompei” by Bastille.
Jack Antonoff, the guy in glasses, is also in the band Bleachers (he actually creates most of the music himself in the studio but tours with a band). Incredible music. He writes and produces for tons of huge artists and has been a big influence on modern pop music.
His og band Steel Train is also amazing

This right here is a great example of the music of "today" vs. that of the 60s, 70s, and 80s. Loved this song when it came out (specifically the version played on Alternative Rock stations, that didn't have the awful autotuned portion), found it still really good when listening to it right now... and had totally forgot this band and this song existed, just like Brad. Some of this can be attributed to the higher quality and timelessness of that older music, but even more has to do with how we consume music nowadays, where you can have bands and artists with utterly massive followings, who the average "normie" has never heard of (Sabaton has 1.6M subscribers on UA-cam, 2.9M monthly listeners on Spotify, and sells out every concert venue they play at, and I still find myself having to explain who they are when someone asks about bands I like, even to rock fans), while back then everybody knew who even one-hit wonders were, even from the genres they didn't listen to.
Also, I felt "We Are Young" was the better of .fun's hits.

The SNL performance of this was one of the best I’ve ever seen.
First time I heard this song was after the Cardinals won the World Series in 2011. They made a video to this song with videos from UA-cam of fans watching them in game 6 and 7. It was called “Some Nights you win the World Series”. It was so awesome.

This entire album is a piece of jewellery, unfortunately, they decided to take a enormous long break in order to stay away from fame. You should try to listen to all of the songs in the album, Out on the town is my favorite!

I must say, despite Fun.'s top songs definitely reaching the charts and being played over the radio basically on repeat, their other songs are heavily underrated, especially the album they released before this song, in 2009

What happened to these guys? Did they release another album after this and I missed it? I also thought that this song was just like "Cecilia", but they had other songs I really liked.
The last entry on their website says that they're taking a break from making music. I think they released some music after this album but separately.

Surpised the lyrics aren't more the focus... that's what grabbed me with the tune. "I found a Martyr in my bed tonight...stops my bones from wondering just who i am, who i am"...so many great lines in it.

I really like the first half of this song but the second half is a real letdown, once he starts in on the overuse of the auto tune. He could have sang all that naturally, without auto tune and it would have been so much better.
