This is how long all settings videos for this mic should be! Great video, I've been using these settings for a while. And makes the mic sound amazing.
Thank you very much! Yea the mic is honestly really good with some very easy settings tweaked! After that apply whatever filters you want to tailor it to your voice and boom! 😃
Sir, what's the mic that you're using in the video?
Bro I was using the microphone from my camera💀 not even the yeti
😂 look audio is a wild right Bud! just make sure to check that every now and then as windows likes to reset that stuff all the time!
Same. Back in 2016 my laptop mic was busted, so I just plugged a webcam in to use as a mic for about 8 months.
Im sure you aint the only one☠️
Thank you now my blue yeti sounds amazing:]
glad it was helpful for you Bud! :D
Can we all agree that we laughed when he said buttcheeks?
😂 I wasn’t sure what else to call it to make it make sense for the most amount of people 😂 I’m glad you got a kick outta it!
Thank u man i actually ordered it yesterday and i didnt know about this ty itll help alot :))
You’re welcome Bud! 😃 just trying help others get the most of our their devices without needed to spend more money!
Love it! Perfectly what I needed.
Thank you so much for this video. I have been using my Yeti all wrong and this is one of the best short videos that solve my problem.
Best video related to this product. Thank you.
Fixed all of my issues in less than a min.
Rapid fire with these helpful tips, i love it
I'm glad they were helpful! :D
Thank you for this! I haven’t used my Blue Yeti in a long time and I needed this as a refresher!
Been hearing a lot of bad reviews on this mic, thanks for clearing this up
like any thing that is popular, it'll gather a group of people that will hate just to hate. I personal find that this mic works just fine as a solid starting mic and well into a career of gaming and streaming. It all comes down to how you have it set up, if you set it up wrong, no matter the mic, it'll sound bad. I think from my voice in this video you can hear that it's just fine :)
It's perfectly useful, but for the price (or lower) there are many better options, like the Neat Worker Bee 2, for instance.
The settings are indeed important on this mic!
very much so! It's surprising just how necessary some tweaks are to this mic. it gives this mic a had rapport for those that aren't as tech savvy so hopefully this helps!
thank you. this just changed my life.
Brilliant! Thank you so much! You explained this so well!
Super helpful, thank you! 👏
SIR! You just made the best instructional video known to man. Thank you from the bottom of my heart
You are very welcome Bud! :D I'm glad this was helpful to you!
WHAT A GEEZA! YOU SIR DESERVE A MEDAL
omg thank you so much! I have had issues with clipping for a while!
I didn’t know I’ve been talking into the wrong side of the microphone all this time 🤦🏽♀️
Tysm
I've used the wrong side for almost 2 year untill now
I feel that! I thought it was an end address mic for my first month of using it 😂 don’t worry we all makes mistakes here and there 😊
@@PlentyAZach btw what mic are you using in this video that you're speaking in
Just straight up - thank you.
THIS HELPED SO MUCH THANK YOUU
You are very welcome!! I’m glad this was helpful to you! 😃
Great vid, exactly what i was looking for! Thank you
Great quick vid, thank you
absolutely bud! I'm glad this helped you out! :)
Thanks!
Thank you bro I did an online interview for a job and used it for the first time and was wondering why my audio was still shit.
woaah , thank you, you've helped me alot
You are very welcome bud! :D
Thanks bro ! Today I bought one and I thought is broken , but right now I have some hope 🙂👌
Thack you 😊
You are very welcome! :D
Thanks
Thank you!
Yeah but you can also change the polar pattern on these mics so you can optimize it to however you need to have your mic positioned on your desk
Do you have any advice for someone using 2 of these in the same room for 2 people? Example: me and my son make Roblox videos and we sit about 8 feet apart and each have our own microphone. For now I am using the setting with the butt cheeks 😂 on both. Is this the best way? Are there any additional software settings I should consider when using OBS to record? Thanks in advance and thanks for this video!
Bro your sound is good which software your using for recording I ha yati mic ple suggest
Helpful thanks
You're welcome bud!
blud just saved my life lol
Very informative 👍
Glad it was helpful! :D Have a great one bud!
Good review about yeti. By the way i like the microphone you're using. May I know what mic is that?
looking for a short like this and found yours in 5mins of searching.....thanks! lol
I'm glad this helped you out Ike! :D
Hi, I love your Vids, but I just wondering what is the microphone you were using in the main vid it looks really nice and sounds to please reply
Been using it the complete opposite way thank u
We've all been there bud no worries! :D happy creating!
ANGEL THANK YOU
Thx
Thank you
You’re very welcome! 😃 I’m glad this was useful for you!
Ty man :)
You’re very welcome bud! 😃
thanks for this video - turns out i've been using this mic wrong
Don't worry bud! I've seen comments like this quite a bit so don't worry bud! :D
The "butt" was extremely helpful
What do I use to encode/ record the audio? The windows 11 camera app is making it sound way worse than this video
Thanks u!
You are very welcome! :D
I need help, My cloud 2 is connected to the mic so i can hear and use the mic however when I use this mic to clip videos from games, the video has no sound and when i use my headset by itself it works. Idk whats wrong.
I still have major issues in that it always picks up my mechanical keyboard and even my mouse clicks. Gain is all the way down, cardioid is on and I try to face it away from those objects but still picks absolutely everything up
If your voice is still really load try lowering your volume inside the windows sound panel. If your voice is the same volume as the key board and clicks then you’ll need noise removal software. My latest video I published goes through every way to remove noises like that. Let me know what helps bud!
I can't get the input and output to work at the same time in reason 12.
How did you get the two side screws back on flush to the body of the mic? Mine are too long when I remove the stand.
I still have the rubber washers installed on there so it looks a bit cleaner but I just made sure i wasn't cross threading them and tightened them up haha
My problem is playback, I suppose or bad input.. I cannot figure it out, playback sounds terrible
Thnaks
You’re welcome! 😊
Is it better for the mic to be directly in line with your face or off to the side a bit? I notice that you’re not directly in front of it and I was wondering if that was for the video and not the audio
In theory it is best for it to be right in line with your mouth as that's how they do it in most studios for audio recording. the main reason I have it off to the side is for content like this and streaming, you generally don't want to block your face. So I find that if you put it slightly to the side and angle the front of the mic so it's still facing your head that it does just find for this type of content. Also at some point I read that angling it a bit like this can help with plosives and that air burst effect. though, a great pop filter will also solve that issue too. hope this helps! :)
What microphone is that your using?
Having a Blue Yeti, I was wondering why the indicators on the mic wheel were the wrong way on the video. And then I noticed that the plan was reversed xD
Anyway, thanks for the videos. I have owned the old model for years and yet I still have difficulty finding a sound that suits me despite the many plugins and tutorials available on the internet. I find that it is not the easiest way to improve its quality. Maybe your videos will be the solution.
Otherwise, if you want to test other plugins, there is TDR nova, Kotelnikov and Marvel GEQ which are interesting to discover for obs.
haha yea, I usually have my video flipped as it makes the most sense to me while filming and editing.
The blue yeti and really any mic can be a real pain to dial in correctly. It takes a lot of trial and error to find the best side for your own voice. Even to this day I'm still playing around with different effects and settings as well. :)
@@PlentyAZach I still find that the Blue Yeti tends to easily push the treble compared to others microphone I've tested. Sometimes, i have difficult recognizing my voice on some videos, it sounds like a teenager who has been castrated xD
TYSM 🙏💕☀️🦋👍
where is the cardiod setting? i can't tell which one it is because i'm visually impaired and there is literally nothing out there that tells which one it is based on the position of the blue light.
How to Reduce the noise though?? Having hard time figuring it out man
NEed your help !!
depends on what programs you are using. if OBS i have a video that details all of this. otherwise if you look up your program of choice + noise suppression, there should be something that helps you :)
Give me the best settings for rode nt - 1 :D
haha wish I could, other than having the mic close to your face and make sure you aren't clipping that about the most I can do without having the mic myself or playing with EQs and the sorts!
Is it possible to connect with camera
What are the best settings on the mic when recording with multiple people in a room?
I'd make sure you have the mic set in omnidirection pick up pattern. On the back with all the different polar pattern options you'd want to select the one that is just a perfect circle. From there make sure you have it set about an equal distance from everyone in the room and then go have fun!
seems to be more suited for podcasting than for rapping your vocals. maybe i cant get the levels right in audacity but everything just sounds flat and mud. you get what you pay for i guess.... great short vid
I think that as far as mics go the yeti is a solid jumping in point but it does have a slightly mudder sound to it I've noticed. You might be able to EQ some of that away but at the end of the day it is an entry $100 mic and it's hard to compare that to like a $600 set up with xlr input and SM7B or equivalent. Just have to make the most of it!
@@PlentyAZach esactly. i changed my plan of attack. I am going to go for that madlib/lord quas sound instead
Which soft were is good
I think you meant clockwise??! Not counter clockwise? 🤔 please answer🙏🏼
i suddenly couldn’t hear myself while recording. what should i do?
Actually, you should set the windows setting to 7 and use the gain knob for amplification instead. Instead of windows “gain”, rather use gain in post. This approach will slightly improve the self noise of the microphone’s preamp and give you more headroom. Otherwise a good set of instructions!
Is it actually better with this setting ?
This is probably really uncommon but I have a blue yeti X and the razor kitty headphones when I plug the headphones in and play minecraft with shaders and I record the audio is really choppy and laggy but when the headset isn’t in it’s completely fine is there anyway I can fix this I been trying for hours :(
It might be that the sampling frequency of all of those devices aren't set to the same thing. In your windows sound panel make sure they ALL have either 44.1kHz or 48kHz make sure they are all the same and not a mix of both. having a mix can really cause issues with audio syncing and you get this laggy like quality out of it.
Foam Microphone Windscreen with Furry Windscreen Muff - Mic Wind Cover Pop Filter for Blue Yeti, Blue Yeti Pro USB Microphone (2 Pack) is this a good option it’s $12.00 since it’s cheap I was just wondering is it good should I get it
What do you think is the best arm for it?
I really like the InnoGear Microphone Arm Stand. They are around $50 USD but I've been using the same arm for like 2 years with no issues on all sorts of mics. To me that was the best arm for the price :)
dude, please help me, I got the blue yeti microphone, I can hear myself in the headphone, but people can't hear me when I talk in Fortnite, Roblox etc. and idk what to do pls help.
great tips thank you! My blue yeti sets off my macbook air fan, so totally ruins the sound ... unsure of what to do? If I edit my voice to remove fan sound I turn into a tinny robot voice. Does anyone have any ideas?
Unfortunately the only real option with this is using noise removal tools. My latest video goes over all ways to remove noise within OBS as well as some none software tips so maybe you’ll find something useful in there. But noises are the hardest to avoid in any microphone.
@@PlentyAZach thank you for your response & help! I’ll take a look ☺️
what mic is this? The cube one with green logo on windscreen
It is the Lewitt LCT 440 Pure :) I love that microphone!
nice
Thanks for the right to the point video!!!
I had no idea it had a front 😭
How far can you be from the mic and still be properly audible?
pretty far away. maybe around 3-5 feet. keep in mind that the further you are from the mic the louder all the surrounding audio will be. The more you increase the gain the more it will also increase all the unwanted sounds as well.
thank you for mentioning to speak on the side of it and not top of it i made the mistake to talk on the top of it.
Tx🦍
question..i bought new Yeti x.. when i connected to my new desktop says is not mic connected , first i saw the icon but NOT anymore, mic is on and LED around working just my computer is not see as mic connected ...do u know whats the problem? mine is PC desktop, needs extra sitting somewhere ?
It's possible that that USB is not able to support the bandwidth needed for a mic, you could try other USBs around your computer, or even get a PCI USB HUB and try that. Otherwise make sure you have any drivers for the mic of your usb controllers and see if that helps out. if none of that is working, it's possible that the mic has an issue and you'd have to take to the manufacturer about that one.
@@PlentyAZach
well my computer is years & years old , i think thats why as u said Not able the support the bandwidth , but thank you
whats ur other mic the one with a green logo
That is an LCT 440 Pure :)
What should I put windows volume to?
I'd recommend setting it to 0dB and then going up or down from there depending on how loud or quite you are.
Can it be fixed to a stand? If yes which stand is best for blue yeti ?
it can be yes. really any mic boom arm will support the blue yeti. I would just find one that fits your budget and go from there :)
What microphone do you use?
I use the Lewitt LCT 440 Pure :)
What mic is the one on the right?
That is a Lewitt LCT 440 Pure. It's an XLR mic that I run into my Yamaha MG10XU :) hope that helps!
Can you help me why my blue yeti did not pick up the first words when I record?
Binh, are you recording in OBS or another software? Generally, when you hit record, I'd wait about 5 to 10 seconds before I start speaking to make sure everything is working and running. If it's not picking you up in say something like discord, it's possible that the input sensitivity is set up to high and needs to be lowered to properly pick you up. Otherwise I'll need a bit more information in order to help you out Bud :)
@@PlentyAZach thanks.
I use the first mode and find it too loud on the lowest gain, how do I fix that?
You may have to go into your windows sound settings and turn down the gain inside of windows. Sometimes windows will default the digital gain to like +10db or something wild like that. turn the gain down to around 50% on the slider and then adjust your blue yeti gain and see where that gets you :)
@@PlentyAZach thanks, I suspected it had something to do with the software
hey my mic connects but windows wont detect it? any help?
When you go to the sound control panel, you should be able to right click inside any white spot in there, make sure that display disconnect and disabled devices is checked. If it's not in any of the recording spot now, you have a couple options. A: Try a different USB cable, make sure it has data transfer capabilities. B: try a different USB on your computer, could be an issue with that usb. C: check to see if there are any drivers for your mic, usbs, and your PC in general. D: if all else fails, you might have to contact their support as it could be an issue specifically with their mic.
I connect my blue yeti to my Samsung m51.android mobile.and adjusted gain level on blueyeti low and record my video in mobile using blueyeti still I get background noise please tell me how can I reduce input microphone gain in blue yeti using android phone
You might be able to use a Ground Loop Noise Isolator like the ones that MPow makes. this pretty much killed all the noise I had in my system when recording!
@@PlentyAZach thanks for the info
What mic is that square mic???
that is a LCT 440 Pure by Lewitt. My personal favorite XLR Mic out of the ones I have tested.
This BlueYeti works on Ps5 with USB?
Eduardo, I believe you can. I found this video here ua-cam.com/video/NlOVDFCjTxw/v-deo.html from "YourSixStudios" that I think could help you :D
Are you kidding me. I’ve had a blue yeti pro mic for 6 years and I’ve been using the wrong side! Flipped it around and now my audio sounds progressional lol 😅
Don't worry Bradley, we've all been tehre hahah that's why I made this to help everyone out :D
Cool
Is your gain all the way up?
My gain is actually almost all the way down. depending on how loud you speak you may need to adjust it. I speak very loudly so I turn my gain very very low.
I honestly thought that you were going to say "the best Blue Yeti setting is found on a Lewitt."
Me thinking that this video is gonna be whispers like asmr:
*clicks*
Me: AHHHHHHHH
Sorry! I should make sure I add something to the title like "Not ASMR!" the tips can help for ASMR but it isn't done in that style!
@@PlentyAZach its no biggie :)
i have the nano
nano would also work similarly to the original Yeti :)
Is it good though?
the blue yeti? depends on what you call "good". for most people just getting into the audio world, the yeti is a fantastic value for all the features it has. with some slight noise reduction to get rid of usb hiss, and some slight tuning it's a very capable mic. other contenders would be like elgato wave mics and the becon mics as well.
