Every RPG video is a pearl. Valery, you are such a lovely host. And Vaclav, you are clearly much more than just the guy holding the camera. The research, writing, editing, and overall information value is just exceptional. I don’t known how you keep doing it, but I hope you never stop. Thank you so much for making these wonderful videos.
Valery, you must have majored in history while in college. I loved history but my professors apparently did not. Your style of teaching is so captivating. You are more like a video historian than a travel guide. Your knowledge of Prague is amazing. Have you ever been asked to become an ambassador? Love your history lessons!!!🌹👌
I will stay in the jewish quarter in February and visit the Prague Tea Festival at Karlinske Namesti - Spektrum. This will be my fourth time in Prague and I always seem to miss you giving a tour or making videos while, as it looks like, you´re trying not to be run over by some random car. I hope that I get a chance to say hi. Thanks for the video, it was very informative.
Very nice tour through Josefov! I know this area very well. In fact my uncle and aunt lived in the building in Maiselova next to the corner building bearing the plaquet where Kafka was born. Many warm memories of our stays there, in fact I still bare my uncle's name as my middle name (Standa). Our next Prague visit will be in 2 weeks with our children and their partners to share my memories to the city with them, I will be their real Prague guide. But thanks to you Valery and Václav and your super videos, I always get new inspirations to visit a special place on my Prague visits. Keep on going!
I've taken a dozen photos of the two lovely ladies, never once suspecting they marked the entrance to a brothel! I'm blushing at the thought. Thanks for another terrific video.
Thank you guys, great content of one of our favorite cities in Europe. The camera work and video editing is getting super pro. One thing that caught my eye that we didn't notice when we visited was "El Gaucho Steakhouse" an Argentinean restaurant I guess. (hope is not Brazilian, we make much better steak!)🤑
Excellent video. Thank you so much for this perspective. I am currently in Prague for a visit and this makes so much sense. I had no idea about the extent of the sanitisation. I don't need Dolce and Gabbana too!
Hi Valery, I sent you the super thanks below. Thank you for another interesting video. Thank you for always making me smile. You always crack me up. See ya next time. BBBYYYEEE!!
RPG’s! Great Stuff! I always love hearing Val talk about art . Great info on Jewish Quarter! I am watching from Wiesbaden today, back to Texas tomorrow.
it helps too when usury is illegal for everyone but you. Well it was illegal between Jews, just not between Jews and Christians. Despite being essential to the functioning of a modern state they kept finding reasons to not make it work for as long as possible.
The simple fact is: there was NO Jewish quarter in Prague by mid 19th century. And what buildings remained were razed to the ground in the end of 19th century! And completely redeveloped and replaced by new street grid and bulidling . So what visitor sees today has nothing to do with what existed in the area during the times of Jewish Quarter. Therefore visitors can not visit 'Jewish quarter' in Prague, but merely area where Jewish quarter used to be. What remains from erstwhile Jewish Quarter is only old Jewish cemetery and three synagogues that were left standing when the rest of the area was torn down and 'replaced'.
Thanks for the great video tour guys and greetings from the german side of Krušné hory. ✌
Thank you!

I love that your information is so thorough that you include showing things that aren't there anymore.

Thanks Valerie (and the camera holder). I loved the "Valerie-ism" when you almost shuddered and said that we don't need Dolce and Gabbana.

So they spoke actual German, not Yiddish
There was a dialect, called "Judendeutsch".
@roirenaud2695 that's Yiddish
No, yiddish is an independent (judeo-) germanic language, not just a dialect. It was spoken in eastern Europe, not by Jews of Prague.
@roirenaud2695 So there's another thing? Interesting
Yiddish was a language/dialect spoken by Jews in Poland and Eastern Europe.
Yiddish was not used in territories of today's Czechia
- How did it go from "this" to "this"?
- The answer is in the name of the quarter
Z
Thanks!
Thank you so much! That was the quickest super thanks I ever received 😅
Thanks!
Thank you so much!!! ♥️
