This is gonna sound so stupid, but a really long time ago I had a sleep app that had a selection called "Laundry Cat" (purring & dryer). I have missed it so much on & off, and this is like next level! Star Trek & laundry cat together. I know it sounds so dumb, but thank you for this😊😴
I never thought I would have needed this until now, but this is totally necessary especially considering the other related ambiences on here lol it fits. The tribbles seem so content…like cats purring.
To be honest I'm really not one for listening to ambience or ASMR in my leisure time, I'm mostly subscribed because 1) this is a great audio library for tabletop RPGs like D&D and 2) I'm extremely impressed the amount of dedication whoever is running this channel has for making such high quality content for free, but this one got me. I've been so stressed for so long without realizing it and this finally let me relax and feel sleepy. In the Star Trek universe tribbles are considered really bad.. I've seen the episode, I get it, but I still can't help but genuinely love them and feel bad that they have to keep dying. They are just such a nice being.
Challenge time: a shorter track that starts with one distinct purr, then shortly after becomes two, then four, then eight, then A Lot as the Tribbles multiply. Maybe keep it to about ten minutes to avoid having to get exponential...
So rewatched the Trouble With Tribbles ep today for the first time in awhile and discovered how relaxing their little noises were for me now. I had been struggling to find a relaxing video to listen to while falling asleep lately, since I get used to them too quickly, so I thought….a video of the tribble noises would be SO good! Thank goodness someone did it!! 😭🙏
Wow... I am ridiculously impressed with this video. I'm a huge Star Trek fan to begin with & "The Trouble with Tribbles" episode in particular so when I saw this I was intrigued. I couldn't help thinking though, that it wouldn't really be conducive to sleep because they sound rather energetic as I recall but just WOW... This is perfect and actually quite relaxing. At the right volume it's perfect. Great job. Bravo. 👏👏👏👏
Thank you so much! It took a long time to put the sounds in a logical and pleasing enough timeline, I’m glad you like it because deciding how often to place the different coos and purrs was hard!
@@ender4life It's very evident that you put a lot of time and effort into this video. You put obvious effort into all your videos but this one required a very careful finesse that I can easily say is masterful. This made it onto my sleep playlist. So far I've been playing your upgraded transmission TNG sleep quarters video. I've been putting that on my TV for MONTHS now because it really helps drown out the noise from the rest of the house & has been so valuable and helpful in keeping my toddler sleep at night. When he gets tired he says "please put the spaceship on." So your work is most definitely appreciated. I think my son will really like the coos and purrs from this video as well. Thank you again for your artful & creative dedication to relaxing Star Trek content. I'll certainly be watching for as long as your channel exists. ☝️😎👍
@@ender4lifeI’ve got a challenge! It might be crazy but hear me out… ambience of the whale probe. I’d suggest mostly the throbbing hum, but still having a quietened version of the communication screeches 😄
Streaming the Tribble episode right now. When Spock said they have a calming effect I just had to see if somebody had made a youtube video. And you have! Thank you so much :) (and it works better than the ‘rain’ ones)
I had a long and rough day today and I decided to watch some deep space 9 to wind down before bed, and the episode that I chose randomly happened to be trials and tribblations, so I'm very grateful for this vid, I'm gonna be sleeping with a bed full of tribbles tonight.
In the newest episode of Discovery, Tilly asks what Saru is listening to in his quarters, and Saru tells her that it's the song of the Kaminar sea frog, and that he fell asleep to their chirps as a child, and that his recent time back home had rekindled his fondness for their song. It's only a short scene and you can't hear them for very long, but it sounded like something that you might do at so me point, and I would love to hear so that I can fall asleep to their song as well. 🌵🌱🌻🐸
You know, I kinda wished you had added more and more tribble noises until it was just a ceaseless cacophony of thousands upon thousands of tribbles. Like if you actually had a room full of tribbles for eight hours.
It’s one I’ve wanted to do for a long time. Not a lot of quiet voyager episodes without music or taking to draw samples from like in TNG but it’s on the list for sure
Were I a Klingon commander I would have a compelling urge to visit the Tribble home world and bombard it from space until every last tribble is eliminated!!
The only thing stressing me out about this ambience is knowing that the Klingons planted a bomb inside one of the tribbles! Ah, well, I'll know which one when it goes off.
Those are both great ideas and have been added to the to do list! Thanks for the suggestions. I can certainly include quiet conversations from both places
The original clips were pigeon coos reversed/backwards. Back then the audio engineer physically cut out the audio tape and flipped it, then adjusted and edited it some. Audio engineering is 1000x easier today and I can’t help but think I’d never had tried it if I had to go to the lengths they did back then!
@@ender4life Brilliant thanks for that... you might want to Pin your comment as that is really interesting! I personally am more likely to do things like that... now the technology is available and such tricks are so simple anyone could do it... I just procrastinate....on things like that..nobody cares anymore
Tribbles are born pregnant. That saves them time. On their world of origin they are prey animals and they have to reproduce really fast. In one episode of ST: Enterprise you can see how doctor Phlox is giving a tribble to one of his stock animals for dinner, and how Hoshi Sato, in the short moments before it gets eaten alive, is fighting not to get mesmerized by its cooing sounds and furry appearance.
Bones : " Do know what you get if you feed a tribble too much?"
Jim : " A fat tribble."
Bones : *look of shock* No, a bunch of smaller hungry ones."

I’ve been thinking about doing Data’s Room next with actual cat sounds (Spot purring). Now it’s definitely happening!
@@ender4life Awesome! Thanks👍👍👍
Oh my god you just unlocked memories I didn't know I had

@@bobbybandz1274 lol, wow! Both of you; I'm not alone! But awake, so I should have been listening to this😁

Made some tribble for the Star Trek convention in Chicago in April. I added a sound device to my little fella and this was perfect. thanks!
That sounds absolutely adorable!

You upload at the best times. Crappy week? Yes. Friday night of long weekend? Yes. Ender upload? Hell yes!! Mood immediately lifted.
Thanks champ
Glad to be of assistance!
I appreciate that you included the DS9 scenes also. The Tribble on Quark’s head...lol

Pathetic
Sorry, but STD isn't Star Trek.
@B9M3 why do you feel the need to add negativity to the world? Just chill out man, let people enjoy things.
Very soothing unless you're a Klingon
Makes a different sound for Klingons. I guess they don't speak Klingese.
They do a loud squeak at the Klingons
Somebody send this to Worf (and be prepared to start running)!
🤣... Yep👍
😁 Maybe we should have a targ one too!
You don’t _send_ it to Worf. You overwrite his Klingon opera with it.
I wonder what they would do to data
I never knew how much I needed this video but this video has completed my life and cured my anxiety
Finally, something different.....
Excellent job!

I just discovered this channel and am completely in awe. 💖
Now I'll be able to drive myself mad with the thousands of Tribble on my ship as I sleep
This is so weird... I love it!
How adorable!!!
Thanks for this...🖖💤
Oh my...Odo was sooo right. We humahns do love it.
Just had a haircut, with a lot of hair left for scraps. I balled them up, and I played this video, as I presented Tribbles to my family.
OK well, this one made me goodbye, so yup I'm not a klingon.
Actually this is just the cutest happy noises ever.
I love this!
I love your videos. Maybe we could get an updated voyager bridge sound video? Night shift Voyager bridge sound would he amazing

With a bunch of Tribbles snuggled up with, they'll notify me if any Klingons may try to take me by surprise.
My new cat sounds like this at 2am zooming around the house with a NERF dart in her mouth.
You absolute madman
Lol! Love your works, Thanks!
You’re welcome! Thanks for listening
Feels like I'm hiding in the cargo bin where they all come pouring out. Hope I'm not in the reality with the explosive tribble. 😳
The only thing stressing me out about this ambience is knowing that the Klingons planted a bomb inside one of the tribbles! Ah, well, I'll know which one when it goes off.
This is amazing.
I'm adding it to "The Noise". Eugene, OR should be a Tribble stronghold in 24 hours.
Could you do a video on either the next gen observation lounge or Picard's ready room?
Those are both great ideas and have been added to the to do list! Thanks for the suggestions. I can certainly include quiet conversations from both places

How did they make this sound... is it slowed down birdsounds or something?

I put this on as a joke. But this genuinely knocked me out within ten minutes
my econ dept at uni had a sign of the tribble episode: "economies of scale; not always in your favor"

Worf's worst nightmare. 😂
very cool!
Perfect!!
I have guinea pigs. This is legit how tribbles sound.
hehehe in ST Prodigy Tribbles could have been cuteyfied by Klingon.

I want a (safe) Tribble pet.

This is the same sound the Drones are making on radios in New Jersey, December 2024😮
Everyone’s happy but the Quadrotriticale.
This s*** is hilarious!
perfect for writing my thesis
they sound like owls.
Spock be like: hmm... there is exactly 1,717,857 tribbles in that pile.
Dax: I agree
Worf would dislike this. 👎
It’s basically Klingon hell.
@@ender4life what do you think waits behind the doors of Gre'thor 😈
oh wow thats. so many
My cat loves it.
Remember folks, tribbles are canonically bisexual 🏳️🌈
and born pregnant
All the dislikes are from Worf
and Koloth
Listening to this to fall asleep. I just hope a Klingon doesn’t walk into that room in those 8 hours…
HELPPPP *drowns*
Tool uses this sound in "Merkaba"
My cat is so confused.
awww
Just for the record, I hired some exterminators from Chronos to deal with this video.
This made my dog go crazy
you sure it's a dog, not a targh? 😄
Damn. These kinda gives me lookie vibes from Rainbow Friends C2.
LOL
I would have preferred 'A Room Full of Orion Slave Women', but this is nice, too. 😛😂🛸
