- A walkthrough my art exam book for Edexcel A2 art, 2015. I received full marks (80/80) really happy with the outcome! :-) It was completed over a period of 4 months.
Music - Real Love - Lilly Ahlberg cover
Your time management skills must be on point, you got me fucked up
i know art is subjective but my drawings look like toilet vandalism compared to this
My art IS toilet vandalism!
LMAO
I've taken art as a GCSE and my work actually looks like artwork in year 2 compared to the majority of artists in my class.
lol
Nusra Rozely. you'll get better. i believe in you. don't let me down👌✊
How to make your self confidence plummet 101
Emm... no, this is far from good. Most of the drawings are straight out photo copiyng which just shows that the artist is still immature and inexperienced. She still has alot to practice.
_dnimfoetats _ what do mean by photocopying? Do you mean by printer or by coping the artist she researches
Crazii Cookie she uses photographic images and copies it onto paper
cherrycute135 ??? you mean the artist research?
cherrycute135 I don't understand what you mean
You should get this published and sell it
mowafi karim I agree, I'd buy it!
Jen I'd buy it and give it to my art teacher and say I did it
Aka I'm failing art cause I suck at life
mowafi karim / Yusss, amazing. Like Blurb Books I think has multiple ways of publishing.
Miroku Akuma okay lol have fun getting charged and arrested for art theft and more! Lol
unfortunately, that wouldn't be advisable. A majority of the paintings are from copyrighted photographs and master studies :(
I CAN'T HANDLE HOW AMAZING THIS IS
Yea it's almost too good
Everyone putting themselves down in the comments need to remember that although this girl is extremely talented, everyone starts off somewhere, she was once in your place, don't quit and you'll be able to draw like this some day.
ehhh, hard work is 60%, but if you lack any talent whatsoever you're just giving a bunch of kids false hope. Not everyone can become a pro athlete, not everyone can be a pro artist.
^ ^ ^ very valid point.
@@RS-ep2ry talent is earned!
@@mensuramjr stfu
@@mensuramjr Well yes but actually no, whereas athleticism is very heavily based on genetics, becoming good art at art really just depends on how much you practice, kind of like a language, where if you practice enough you will eventually improve, maybe not world class, but to a relatively high level
Wow this is unbelievable, so talented! And a massive thanks for using my cover and giving it a mention in the down bar xxx
Thank you lovely! You have a gorgeous voice x
Your voice is beautiful 💜
my art book is terrible in comparison rip. I cant find the time or motivation to put effort in
My art teacher ripped out all of my pages, so.....yeah :(
Leona Drew oh god thats horrible how could he
She said that she didn't understand the order that it was in and what was "relevant" . I felt like crying when we had art because she gave us our books back and when I opened it ,the ripped out pages were there; she didn't tear many pages out of other people's books and she discussed ripping them out with those people , which she didn't do with me.
Also it was annoying because she keep on saying to me and my class that we don't have a lot of time left to sort out our books. This was this month.
I hate being in year 11.
That's a 'sketchbook'; it looks more like a professionally designed, and, carefully laid out magazine! ;-)
I am thinking this is what she gave to her teachers at the end of the year like a portfolio including everything she has done throughout the semester and its officially called sketchbook
banberka this is what is sent off to the exam board
bruh i don't even know how i got here but this was a beautiful experience. thank u.
what kind of workbook do you use? the paper quality seems amazing if you can use all those mediums so seamlessly!
My school provided these sketchbooks! But if you would like to buy one that is the same, I recommend either Seawhite Sketchbooks or Daler Rowney! x
555Emms I go to the same school as you did :)
Meanwhile I'm here and struggling with drawing a potato
i am a potato
alceushunterx May I draw you?
McEgge yes draw me like one of your potato girls
This is what youtube comments should be ;)
Well, it depends, but a potato is kind of hard to draw...
Damn. This is a SKETCHbook? This would be my magnum opus haha
You realise this is a sketchbook for an school exam, right? Not just a regular sketchbook
+Eve Br I still don't entirely understand grading a sketchbook. For the longest time I've heard(even from teachers) that you shouldn't worry about a sketchbook looking nice. It's more meant to be a personal thing to sketch and practice in without worrying about other people seeing it. But then grading it is the complete opposite. Wouldn't that be like grading a personal diary or something?
+TXF it's not a personal sketchbook though, you use it to do assignments in and stuff. It's pretty much just a portfolio of homework. You don't use this one to sketch and plan out to your hearts desire, the teachers use it to see how talented you are.
+TXF
No, I study art in high school as well, and your sourcebook (as we call it in South Africa) is a place to research and analyze artists so you can learn from their styles: the teachers mark your analyses so they need to be detailed and well-motivated.
Your practice needs to be detailed as well: how well do you build on your ideas? Teachers mark your technical skill and its development, but also concept generation through mind maps, and at the end you have a reflection about how you could improve. Yes, your sketchbook doesn't have to look perfect, but that's because the teachers focus more on your approach rather than the doilies and lace borders you add (as decoration is no indication of effort or talent. Imagine if you added lace borders onto your Maths exam?) 555Emms' sketchbook illustrates very well what you should aim for in a sketchbook (if it's to be graded.)
Art is creative, yes, but there's a process that you follow. If you do art for yourself--and not to be graded or do it as a living--then it could be as personal as a diary, and that's okay.
+Rashmika The Writer same ! Also from SA lol
This is amazing! It sucks for how long you must have put into it though because even a quarter of it would have been enough for the A* full marks; I just hope it wasn't to the detriment of your other subjects.
Thankyou! I have always loved art so putting time aside to do this project was easy for me personally as it was basically just my hobby. I actually achieved an A* in Fine Art, A* in Photography and a B in English Language overall so I was really happy with the outcome of my A-Levels! Thank you for your kind comment.
555Emms I'm up north so I'm doing nationals and highers. Got an A1 for Art (but my mediums were charcoal & fire, pastel and oil paints [which took a hell of a long time to do, as I decided to do oil paint for my final piece and finish it with pastel-talk about being smart with time]) with jewellery as my project (felt it was easier than a folio). Although I had to redo my project because I may or may not have set the looping on fire when I was working with the charcoal, so that was fun...
But my piece doesn't even compare to your book, so congrats!
Yoda I am HELLO FELLOW GAME OF THRONES FAN
Yoda I am Fellow Scot, hello!
Yoda I am z
This just makes me realise I'm never gonna get an A* in art 😭😂
May J you look Peng
LOOL, man is making movements through youtube...
Realize
Jitsu it's spelled differently in different places (eg uk) so... she spelled it correctly.
placez* zpelled* jitzu*
I thought I was okay at drawing until I saw this.
Rachel Miller having a good sketchbook doesn't mean your drawings have to be this good, it's more the different types of ideas and the layout of your notes that count. (At least in my school)
This makes me want to cry . Idk why ... weird
its beautiful :)
jiminniee oi oi army
liv yoooo
Yes army
jiminniee heyyy yoonggiii
hello familyyy
not sure why but i cried
+ellie You're not the only one - i think it's the music and the perfection of that sketchbook haha
+elliE same!
i know why i cried, it's because my a2 art book doesn't look like this lol!!
ellie parsons me
if i had to guess, it might be this video...
how the fuck do you get full marks for art omfg i wish i had the patience and talent like u ;(
holy shit this is incredible
What am I doing with my life....
How do you find the time to do so much painting??
+Gold3Princess actually this project was probably done in less than 5 months as in echo year of a level (As and A2) you do two projects, coursework and exam work
There's so much detail on each page, and you're doing A Levels. I'm doing BTEC and I barely put this much effort into my logbooks ._.
only from taking a look at your art, I'm able to say that you must have to be a person with a beautiful personality. the choice of the subjects represent your point of view and what goes on in your mind. now that I know a part of your mind I feel like you're a really good person. your art is something truly inspiring. pls never stop doing it.
well this is depressing! my art book is awful compared to this, the work is amazing!
Same
Don't compare yourself, learn from her and try to achieve that in your own unique way.
you can't compare yourself when it comes to art, it just doesn't work like that
same and I'm a Fine Art student studying at University. I think my sketchbook is a little scruffy because I tend to work more on paintings outside the sketchbook though on canvas and that. The sketchbook in the video is extremely good.
you really shouldn't compare your work to others. Best thing to do is focus on developing your own style really, after all everyone has their own style and way of doing art. :)
I shall proceed to cry.
When was the last time you left the house?!
I never understood the idea of judging and grading a sketchbook. I mean, I get a class telling you to finish one, then checking to make sure you did. But grading a sketchbook seems like the exact opposite of what I always hear teachers and others saying. That in a sketchbook, you shouldn't worry about quality, or making everything look nice or be nice and neat. It's only meant to be for you to sketch and practice. But grading it says that you SHOULD try to make a sketchbook look nice with the point of other people seeing it. I don't get it.
It does look nice though. I always enjoy seeing people flip through sketchbooks.
I think that in england we call our books that contain all our exam projects, we call them sketchbooks. Bit of a weird name but I do gsce art and we get given a book and a bunch of stuff to do in it like artist research and observational drawings. just thought I would clear that up; this isn't like a sketchbook that you just draw in, because it gets marked by the examination boards along with the final piece. :)
+TXF
Fully agree with you ... also I think that its unnecessary for great artworks to have a long process of explorations and research, a lot of great artworks are spontaneous inspiratoins that do not necessarily involve a lot of background research. In fact sometimes I see a lot of overthinking and flowery "rationalising" of underwhelming artworks .. overthinking may in fact lead to artworks that becomes too lost on the viewers, often times the most spontaneously created ones are the ones that speaks most directly to viewers simply because the creative process is so instinctive ..
88feji
the sketchbook is full of coursework coursework, its not a traditional definition of sketchbook where its like just thoughts and ideas and doodles, this is the work that is meant to be marked.
This is one of the reasons why I hated gcse art. My teacher wouldn't let me experiment at all, she ripped pages out of my sketchbook that she didn't like. The only work I ever got decent grades on was work that almost directly copied other artists with little creativity.
This should be in a museum, woahh
crying cause im not at this level dnt know if i ever will get to this
same
One day we will.
how did you even manage to get it done in two years?
This makes me so excited and scared about college
Or I'm assuming college is what this is for
>:OO amazing!!
+Destiny Alexander kinda like college
we didn't get to keep any of our stuff because in those days it was on paper etc and got sent off and would have cost too much and taken too long to return and that was that, you didn't take pictures of your stuff, nobody did, they usually turned out rubbish and cameras were expensive well nobody i knew did it, you just lost everything you did even if you loved it. It's so nice and convenient now, you can't imagine. Then, if a thing was gone, it was gone forever
It was the same with me though. And I was really sad about "losing" my English paper as well. I swear the essay I wrote there was the best goddamn essay of my life.
same. both art and english for me
You should publish it as a book
Oh cool, so you just got to do photorealism quality then...
(holy pants this is amazing btw)
this is really inspiring. you are so talented!
Wow. You really have an incredible talent. Please don't ever stop creating 🙏🏻
Sketchbook goals right here.
your artwork is truly an inspiration
so goodddddd. I want to change my major so bad from psychology pertaining to the study of phobias and disorders to being an art major. I can't stad these standard classes I already did in class. I just want to paint and draw and not have to waste so much time on classes i had in highschool because its a liberal education or diversity requirement. You are gonna do big things. This sketchbook is grand
Although majoring in art is not only about painting and drawing
lol I know. I've taken multiple art classes ranging from drawing, to art history, to photography. Painting and drawing was just the basic version of what I was trying to get across. All I want to do is paint and draw. vanezcha
my gosh i was like you a few years ago my family hated the idea of me doing art , i used to get so upset and just hated that i studied business (i failed it miserably) all i wanted to do was express my self with art lol im going uni next year studying it ,i secretly took a art interview at a school after i had finished secondary i didnt tell my family untill i started the subject .. they were really angry but now their okay with me doing art now ( after months of persaution) , im so happy with my life right ...but if i was to have continued with the subject i would have been so depressed right now... my best advice is do what you want most in life and never regret anything
I am looking into transferring to a different school. I go to Saint Rose which is a private school in NY and its so expensive 28k a year and I don't even live here. My scholarship and financial aid don't cover everything either so im switching to UAlbany which is like 3.7k a year and my boyfriend and friends go there. I really want to pursue art. Last semester I did pretty well but now I'm working nights with low income and no sleep taking four classes all day I don't want to take and don't even correlate with my major. For example im a psychology major (particularly abnormalities in the brain and phobias), but I'm taking a Medieval Europe to 1500's class? Like wtf and even though I took four years of spanish they made me take intro to spanish. I passed my regents in 10th grade though with a 96%. It's all for money and they say oh it will help you its a diversity or Liberal Education requirement. But I just wan't to sing and paint. My dad wants me to be a doctor and my mom wants me to be a tattoo artist. Lmfaoo I want to sing, play my violin and paint people with markers, water and watercolor though. Glad you are happy and doing what you want to do. Thank you for your incite. Shani brookk
shay that physcology course sounds fascinating- may you link me details of the course please?
wow u really put an amazing amount of effort into that
I have no words for how good this is 😮😮😍
i want to frame all these on my wall
This is amazing your blessed with a true talent at school I use u as my inspiration x
KC Edits It's not talent.
It's hours of hard work.
Get your shit straight.
Burntshmallow you dont know that
720 noscope No, I definitely know that. People aren't just born talented, unless they're a savant. Savants are extremely rare.
Burntshmallow Mate there are many people who are born with greater talent and ability. Talented people can just learn things better and to a higher standard. Not everyone needs to work equally hard.
720 noscope No, but this is still years of hard work and learning.
THIS IS TOO BEAUTIFUL WHY
This acctualy makes me hate my art
so peaceful watching this, and wow I feel incompetent, but MAN GIRL YOU HAVE A GIFT
At 1:07 for example what type of paint do you use? And what's the brand called cause it looks phenomenal
I just used regular acrylic from a shop called 'The Works' here in the UK! But I also buy regular acrylics just off of Amazon :-)
555Emms have you ever used the stretched canvases from the works? I want to use one ti paint my freind a galaxy for Christmas but I'm not sure if they are good enough for acrylic paints
pure talent wow, this is amazing, no idea how I ended up watching this because I can't do art for shit but I'm soooo in awe. I hope you end up doing this forever.
this is real real real real talent and awesomeness
Amazing
xiaorishu agreed!!
I literally don't even understand how you had time to do that - It's amazing but like seriously, I don't even have time to do a simple artist copy and 1 response...
Holy.....crap! This is insane. I LOVE the subject choices too.
HOW did you do this in 8 weeks!? thats made i have like 1/4 of your work
H.O.L.Y. F.U.C.K. This is beautiful!!
o.o this is amazing. Now that i think back at my gcse's art book, it was such a mess lol
I'm never even doing art again on my own accord let alone A level because my art teacher gcse is a twat
+MEMSUS mine too, art used to such a fun thing now I hate it cause of my art teacher. No one liked him😥
Hiba Ada mine is a hypocrite, idiot, tells us what to do for our gcse pieces, does not allow drawing from imagination, never actually teaches art techniques (or anything for that matter), wastes money and then complains about the art department budget, and has no respect for effort. For example, she got up one lesson, went to the back of the class, got last years folders, and shoved all of them in a wheelie bin. Didn't even empty them. Thousands of hours of work discarded in a bin overflowing by about 4 ft. To add insult to injury, she cant be arsed to remember the names of the 20 depressed students that have been in her lessons exclusively for three years. And all the other teacher don't give a shit because she "gets results from her students."
I sincerely wish I was exaggerating.
was she fired? why didnt anyone complain?
LovelyzxPinksoul.Music the students always complain, but it is ignored because again, she "gets results." Also, she technically isn't breaking any rules.
Oh my gosh REAL GOALS. LITERALLY MY GOALS
It's incredible gorgeous. You are so fantastic.
A2 full marks represent. Though mine wasn't nearly this good, lol.
Im noob in art :< i got a D grade.
That is still good in my opinion.
You know it's not good it's shit dont sugarcoat it.
I think it is though.... I am most likely going to get a U (ungraded) for my work.
I do programming at GCSE level and it's soooo hard :|
Yes python and javascript, thanks for the advice :)
I don't know how I came across this video, but you're amazing! omg
Were you at an Art School were, the standarts were really high or are you just extremely talented and were investing much time into this?
Well done for your hard work!
Holy shit, I can't even draw stick figures
Was your sketch book just plain white paper ?
how old is the artist? :)
A2 students are usually 17-18 :)
Squint oh my Lord that is amazing :(
And complex giving. T.T
Onigiree definitely!
This is amazing!! Could you please do a tutorial on any price of work ❤️
(i dont think any words can describe how this astonishing beaut rendered me speechless, transfixed and fascinated but)
HOLY DAMN SHIT BRICKS THIS IS LWFNWKKSJAODN ♥♥♥
I can draw stewie from family guy. That's it.
lmao same tho
how many blunts did you smoke to make this XD
I got an A but mine was far from this amazing standard!
Just a question: is this all freehand? Because at my college it seems like everybody traces the outline of an image and then shades it in, which I don't understand...
My college doesn't do that..
You should drop out of there ASAP
I love your style of the way you layout your book this is very inspirational :)
Excellent - I did art at A-Level also and got an A. So I can relate and understand that while the drawings/paintings are gorgeous, they took a lot of time, stress, planning and trying again to create the final piece. Well done; it's gorgeous.
The whole book is beautiful, you are extremely talented!
This is so beautiful. What paint do you use to paint these?
This is incredible
my sketchbook looks like trash and this is just amazing
i'm doing my A-level and or B-techs this time next year! I can't wait to create something like this!
Rusty cheese grater, yes the cheese is vegan love your name ^~^ 😂
huehue thank you, I pride myself on the dankest of memes
Huehue, if you haven't noticed... My name 'Frappuccino' is a white girls's basic drink. 'Frap' also means female masturbation. Hidden dank memes can also be pretty frappin good. xD Lell
huehuehue, I think my is quite ironic because I take the piss of vegans yet I am one XD
Difference between a vegan and an extremist vegan :P
This has been on my recommended for a while
I got chills wow
I used to love doing art but A level fine art nearly killed me. I was taught that quantity was more important than quality and that honestly took the fun out of it.
This looks amazing! No doubt this took a great deal of time but it seems you loved it! I remember at school, art students staying at school late hours to complete their projects. Actually makes me inspired to find something I can work hard at because I truly love and enjoy it!
Honestly don't know why this is in my recommendations but really glad I clicked through. I had a penchant for drawing when I was young but never really pushed through and now I'm in med but I really miss this and sometimes wonder if I did went this path.
so you don't have to do a 10 hour exam anymore?
Isn't that where the final piece is done.
Isn't that where the final piece is done.
randomness051 you do for GCSE but not sure about a level
you have to do a sketchbook like this, then a 10 hour exam for the final piece I believe.
It's 15 hours for A2
Your video radomly came up on my feed and as soon as I saw it I had to click it. I know you posted this a year ago but what a talented person you are - I feel like its not too late to still compliment you on this. It was beautiful to watch, you are clearly very skilled but it was BEAUTIFUL to watch this unfold, I am not surprised you got such a good grade, it is truly deserved and your work book shows your passion and dedication from start to finish. I'm sure you will go so far with your skills and determination
hence my love-hate relationship with looking at art- I loveeee to look at beauty but i always get jealous and wishful. this is awesome! cant imagine what you'll be doing in the future
so did you get A*? this is amazing i would actually buy this
Very inspirational and beautiful! :) I love your work.
nice work!
And whats the name of the song at the beginning?
Look I'm only 13 but I loved this video so much. You're amazing omggg 💕
hi, which type of pen did you use to write in white?
I think she just outlined it in black and didn't use a pen for writing, or maybe she did but it doesn't look like she did :)
Zxay she definitely used a pen
Syeda HB a white gel pen. I emailed her
WHAT THE FUCK
Why am I even watching this? I'm studying Accounting & Finance.
one day.. one day i will draw like this ;-;
it's been 2 years hows your art coming along?
This is spectacular stuff. You're gonna go far. Very far. Even the words "well done" is barely enough here.
it's a shame, i can't draw fs
these are so good!!
