My Paperwhite Signature has an orange glow in the lower-left of the screen, as if the warm-light LED is always on there. Amazon is sending another one out but I'm curious how common this is.
@@DaiXVearn Hi, Please can you let me know if the replacement unit ends up being defective? I'm still on the fence about whether to buy it, and I don't fancy going through the hassle of returning units. Thanks!
@@ryokan9120 the replacement unit has arrived and looks good. 👍 Amazon wants the old unit sent to their engineering lab so it seems to me that they are taking QC seriously.
Great review. Thanks. I especially appreciate the fact that you mentioned, and demonstrated, the link-to-Wikipedia feature. My question is, is that feature noticeably faster or smoother on the 12th gen than the 11th gen? My 11th gen works, but it is slow and clunky. I guess it's really the "basic browser" that is the limiting factor. I resorted to running the Kindle app on an iPad Mini. I would appreciate your opinion.
All Your reviews are very thorough and helpful! Which one is your preferred device/ model ? If you have a book that is available for you to read on all of your devices, which one will you go for ? Kindles… boox’s , kobo’s…? Reading experience and ease which model and system is your favorite? Thank you!
Thank you, appreciate the review. Question: I got my PW 12th Signature, and the bottom half an inch of the screen appears to be slightly warmer compared to the rest of the screen. Can you confirm if this is a common occurrence? Have you experienced this with your Kindle devices?
Thanks for the review. I recently had a right arm injury that makes it awkward to primarily use my right hand for reading. I've found turning pages forward in a book to be a bit awkward when using my ~10 year old Kindle with my left hand. Is there is a left-handed or accessibility mode on this version of the Kindle that might make using the device with my left hand easier? Thanks again!
You can create "Collections" where you can create folders & organize your books how you want in. For quick sorting, you can only sort by Title or Author.
Does anyone have a functional auto brightness sensor on their Signature Edition ? Mine is completely defective and from what I’ve read online, most people just turn it off because it won’t work properly.
Thanks for your answers. Shame that Amazon can’t build a functional sensor. Can’t be that hard. I’ll give it a couple more days of trying and I’ll just deactivate it like everyone else 🥲
@@vladblack447 the color of the screen is less tiring for my eyes with the glowlight on. Even with the glowlights of the screen has a little warmer tint
If you want 2 devices big and small then the kindle is in advantage for synchronising books you didn’t bought in the store. Send it to kindle mail and the reading proces is synced. With Kobo you can’t do that.
If you have notebooks on Kindle Scribe, can u access them on Paperwhite or Basic? Also, the highlights you made with pen on pdfs, will they appear on Basic or Paperwhite?
@@Claudia-ff3upI’m curious how much more text you can fit on the screen? That was the only other upgrade to me. I’m waiting until a Black Friday deal….but now I’m not even sure I will upgrade
Should be. Most people are saying that they have no issues. The article that initially claimed this is getting torn apart in the comments section saying that the article is entirely wrong. My 11th Gen Paperwhite was also updated to the same software version as the 12th Gen, and it connects to a PC with no problem. Apparently, what is really happening is that Mac computers specifically won't read the Kindles. But Windows PCs have no such issues. So it's up to Apple to fix their computers to read the format Kindles and, in fact, other devices use.
I hate the backlight on the 2024 kindle paperwhite is pissy yellow compared to previous model. Even when adjusted to lowest warmth it's still yellow, while on the previous kindle you can adjust tone to nice neutral white. For me it's ruining the whole experience. I've seen many customers on amazon have this issue.
I’m starting to see reports of light bleed on the new paperwhite screens. Even here on the comments someone mentioned the problem.
Just upgraded and love my new PW12!

Did they ask u to return or they issued a replacement?
@@DaiXVearn I need to return the defective unit but I can wait to send it in until I've received the replacement.

It's never worked correctly in any of the amazon eReaders that have it lol

Wish the Signature edition also included auto rotate. I miss that feature from the Oasis :-(

I don't believe it does.
The 2024 is 0.2 inches bigger, so i dont think so
Nope! Slightly different dimensions between the two. You will need a new case.
Someone said that it still fits but snug.
By some people fits the usual transparent silicon case, it can be extended yes
