@@larryshapiro6115, Well, you certainly did a wonderful job! I love all of the Highwaymen, but Waylon is my all time favorite. He converted me to country music in the mid 1970’s with the “Wanted - The Outlaws” album, and I followed his career until the day he died. I still listen to him almost daily. Thanks again for a great piece of work.
They were funny and respectful. My husband worked with John Cash.. audio engineer...I worked for Little Nashville Opry. I stood in the back hall, one night and talked Waylon. And only in passing with Willie... but Kris. I never did get to meet.
Great this was captured for posterity. We'll never see the likes again. 4 true country artists - amazing insight into them. So humbling to see genius in action and so funny as well. Waylon is a truely funny and grumpy old man lol.
You can tell they had a great Time together. I love this clip of those great artists sitting, singing and talking together. This is music history right here. /CD
It was so great filming this. There was one part when June Carter would just be rubbing Johnny's head telling stories. The whole crew would be sitting around as if we were at a campfire. We were like, "Tell us another story June!" She was a wonderful woman.
1 of the best documentary's of all time!!! I havn't seen this in a long time. CMT use to play great things like this. Its a shame what its turned into. THANKS TENFOLD FOR POSTING THIS !!
One of the best super bands ever! Love these guys. I'm only about half their age but I look up to their musical prowess with the utmost respect. The talent that flowed from these four men is absolutely amazing. I even like to play their songs for my children and now they are growing up to love them too! So glad we still have Willie and Kris. Miss you Mr. Cash and Mr. Jennings. As a side note, I also miss you Mr. Haggard. He was also asked to be a Highwayman.
Trying to keep the music and spirit alive still, but you guys will always live forever no matter what, I won't stop playing these songs till I'm old and grey, 18 now til as long as I'm alive, It would have been an amazing experience to see these guys perform in my life time!
That's my opinion too, especially with the song Highwayman! When Waylon sings: I'm a sailor... that's where the most magical moment begins!! Pure goosebumps!!
Willy's guitar trigger is an amazing instrument, millions of notes and strums for millions of people around the globe and that thing is held together with toothpicks and glue and sounds as good as it did the day it was finished. I hope when he plays his last note it's with trigger around his neck and that guitar is placed in a rolling museum on willy's tour bus so we can all see the magic guitar
This is freakin IRONIC. I wrote a song related to all these guys called A Dying Breed, and Waylon sings a song and says, Living legends are a dying breed. Wow. This is great footage.
Waylon and Kris are neat. They both have very different ways of seeing things. Waylon likes concrete ideas and solutions, whereas Kris seems to be confident even amidst abstraction. They're both so cool to listen to!
Freaking awesome! Loved Johnny doing "Live Forever" solo. What's with Kris's hair? Looks like he's wearing a rug. Some serious guns on that dude, though. Willie rules. Think how many cigarettes have been smoked amongst that group.
They all got choked up at one time or another during the filming of this. But they laughed more during that whole week we filmed. Willie was in trailer smoking pot with Kris most of the time.
They were all good friends, especially Waylon and Johnny, who shared an apartment together in Nashville when they were just starting out. This video was really awesome!
@@VAHOSS, So you’re saying that liberals aren’t Pro American??? Obviously, we have different ideas of what being liberal means. The 1984 song, “America” that Waylon wrote and sang shows Waylon’s diverse - and yes, LIBERAL way of thinking. That song was actually ahead of its time. Waylon did not belong to any particular political party, but voted for the man he felt most comfortable with. Waylon was also an agnostic for most of his life, until he gave his life to Jesus on the Thanksgiving Day of the year before he died. Maybe you should read Waylon’s 1996 autobiography, or the autobiography that Waylon’s son wrote about his father. Don’t listen to the audio versions, because they leave a lot out. You just might get a different view of Waylon’s beliefs.
RiP Kris Kristofferson ( 1936-06 -22 till 2024-09-28 ) , a great actor, songwriter and singer left the stage.
God, I miss these guys. This was REAL country.
If you are a Highwaymen fan, this is GOLDEN!!! WOW!!!
Really like them all, but that Waylon Jennings is so.....well......he's just so damn good in so damn many ways! You will live forever Hoss.
The highway man, the sailor, the dam builder and the space explorer.....God bless these guys!
I could sit and listen to these guys talking and singing for hours
Thor Solberg yeah me to
So could I. Love them.
I have got one great regret that i never got to see them live. /CD
I produced this and i was an amazing week of shooting.

The best and most amazing boygroup ever. RIP JRC and Waylon/CD

Absolutely fantastic. What a great group of guys, we need more guys like this in music today.
Ain't it grand the world. Just a fine inspiration.
This is a GREAT inside-look to the VERY BEST Country-group EVER......
You can tell they had a great Time together. I love this clip of those great artists sitting, singing and talking together. This is music history right here. /CD
Wow this is awesome, imagine being there chilling....they all are just cool dudes.
The best group of four men ever long live the highwaymen what's left of them
I love these guys!!!!
The shot of Johnny F'in Cash at 7:14 just sitting on the floor eating ice cream or something. My God.
It's simply priceless. /CD

Is there anymore footage?? You're very lucky man@@larryshapiro6115
I just though I would add that the song "Live Forever" was written by Billy Joe Shaver who is an unsung hero of country music.
I belive it was, he wrote many songs for other artists

Oh wow all of them at the same time. Wow!
Absolutely excellent! Thank you so much for posting!!
"So does Fort Worth"
Such a great line.
I know people think Johnny Cash is the GOT of country and he was great, but Waylon just something about that voice and presence that is hard to deny.
no. John has such a raspy and crackly voice, its the best of country
@@djdimigaming5324 What are you hearing, Johnny Cash absolutely does not have a raspy voice.
They both have something special… no arguing but I’d have to say Waylon had something extra special ❤️

June doing the interview while johnny sits in the floor eating ice cream 😂

You forget how good at writing they all are.
Willie last man standing RIP Kris
Was dying to hear their reactions to Live Forever
There's another video of it somewhere on UA-cam
Waylon and Kris are neat. They both have very different ways of seeing things. Waylon likes concrete ideas and solutions, whereas Kris seems to be confident even amidst abstraction. They're both so cool to listen to!
That's just a ridiculous amount of talent in one space at one time. wow
Listen to John singing Live Forever - it don't get any better than this
It is John R. CASH ./CD

+jacksonking61537, Me, too! He was simply the best. Waylon will always be sorely missed.
Love it!!
Love the song Kris did with Waylon blending in.(part 4)
Too good
the young guy is Don Was, the producer. Brilliant in his own right.
Brilliant. My first Musical heroes ... when I was Young, I wanted to play guitar like Willie, write songs like Kris and sing like Johnny ...
I fucking love them all
Old friends doing what they love, with each other. Does it get any better than that?......
Willie the real HIGHway man billy joe shave should have been one of them , he wrote song everyone could sing , Johnny did a good job on live forever
Brilliant.
Love y all❤❤❤❤❤debbie

I noticed his hair too but just thought it was freshly cut.
Todays country singers couldn’t sing these lyrics in a small town😢
Too cool, literally
they are gods period!
You better grin Kris or I'll hit ya. Lol.
Love this, is there a place I can buy a copy of this video, the full length?
If 3:41 doesn't send chills up your spine...
was this on a dvd? if so what was it called? thanks ps these guys are legends
did Chris get a little choked up there describing the album cover? Walyon pats his back 2:50
man this is some terrific footage

What I give to be in that room with them with my guitar
Who was the most peaceful of this band?
producer Don Was...famous for number one albums like jewels pieces of me
He's the master of this. Always in bare feet. Check out the Brian Wilson film we made together.

wow
You know Kris Kristofferson and Waylon Jennings are really good old friends but they were funny they saying that
They were all good friends, especially Waylon and Johnny, who shared an apartment together in Nashville when they were just starting out. This video was really awesome!
Haha I don't think Waylon is feeling that song about Sinead. Luv it.
Willie ist inzwischen 88 fast 89 ,Kris 85
That kid sitting by Waylon, with the long, shaggy hair, is that his son Shooter?
Carly, No, that's not Shooter. But I was wondering myself who it is. Does anyone know?
Producer Don Was
Carly Hope Raad, Yes, that is their music producer, Don Was.
is that howard stern
i think johnny won the song contest hahaha
Take a look at Willie's guitar ... how much do you think that's worth!!!!!
+Marilyn Yun Shooter has it now and uses it at his concerts and in his music videos.
+Marilyn Yun shit sorry i thought you were talking about waylons guitar.
That's okay Rod, it's great that Shooter has Waylon's guitar; Willie and Waylon, can't beat them!!!
Marilyn Yun amen
+Marilyn Yun I want to see it one day man... he named it trigger and he says he will never use another guitar.
You know what? I have a lot of things in common with Waylon Jennings, including I hate France 🤣
who's the young hippie guy with the curly hair? sorry, just don't know...
Levi D, I believe it is their music producer, Don Was.
Legendary men
Waylon falling asleep.....somethings wrong there...
I think something about how he didn't like france and something about getting stoned. hope that made sense :]
That's Don Was
Loved all of this. I could have missed the song about Sinead though. Not one of my favourite people.
Like to be a fly on the wall that day in that room with them
😂😂😂 @wish I was a fly. Me too! 😍😂
I love them all, but poor Waylon looks like he is about to pop. lol..
5:35.
who let miss frizzle in? 😂
Waylon and Cash are badass. I love Willie's and Chris's musical ability, but they are way to Liberal for my liking.
You might not want to look too far into Waylon or Johnny's politics either then.
@@Instagrump_330 Johnny was much more conservative than the others tho. Johnny adored the 2nd amendment.
