GReat info! Not sure if you are playing it or this is how you are but... anyway the message is preaty clear.
BTW you can check if the downpipes are hot spiting in the pipe or use a spray bottle with some water in it.
in both situations water should be evaporatet instantly.

I don’t have a fancy thermal camera just use a cheap temp gun. And I use to just use a spray bottle and water. LOL

Nice troubleshooting Jim! Thanks 'Hand on the header' reminds me of my early years wrenching small planes and trying to trace a bad plug, lead or magneto distributor. Two mags & plugs in each pot, so if you ran it a bit on the mag with a stumble the cold pipe told the tale. Steve

I'm looking because my triumph t100 is popping really bad. I haven't run it in a few months so I'm thinking carb issue too, I have only had it about a year, and it's always started a bit slow from the start, but today after sitting about 2 months it's poppin like a pistol. With only 2 cylinders its hard to keep it running without choke or throttle up. I used to have a VMAX, and when 1 cylinder stopped idling it would still run, but like crap. Looks like carb time. 😠. Hello! Thanks for sharing this tip for us. Actually, I have an issue with carbs on ZRX1200. Carbs after full rebuild, but the 3rd cylinder doesn't work correctly, the header for it is much cooler, than others. Do you have any advice for me? One guy said, you could spray carb cleaner into the vacuum port and see how it is.

i have two big, fuel injected cylinders on my 109, both pipes get hot from start, but she misfires at about 1200rpm

I think I'm dealing with the same on an 04 R-1 but I replaced the stator and not sure if it's an electric or injector issue. Do you have a video showing how to check each plug is getting some spark?
Old skool me..save the skin on your hands n fingers...use a plant water spray bottle or wd 40 etc
what should I look for with these methods?

Perfect work. I wanna ask you something bro. My 2015 Hyosung gv 250 efi is perfect when cold but after 20 minutes later, it is starting to missfire when on low speed. From 2500 rpm eveything is perfect again. Only the problem is on low low speed. Spark, sparks cable, ignation coil, o2 sysnors are new. I m electrical enginer and checked other items. Selenoid synsor's vacum is good, intake air temperature sysnsor works well, intake air pressure synsor works well (1 pieces of this or i saw it like on motor block)... Just i couldnt check tps synsor but i dont think there is no needed. Soo what is your mind? Why this cycle gives me a missfire when it s hot?

I’ve diagnosed my Honda cb400 and I found out that it has a misfire in cylinder number one and I bought a new spark plug for it but it is still the same.

Happens exactly with my bike. Only to know that when I take off the spark plug cap it still runs the same. Can it also be a cylinder problem then? Anyone?

So I have a question I have a Yamaha Fazer 700 that had two cold cylinders when I bought it rebuilt the carbs etc anyhow it's developed a cold cylinder number 4 and spark is good compression feels good it is possible all carb passages are blocked this one is really stumping me I'm are 100-150 max with thermometer now I did spray some starting fluid while running and was able to get the header up over 200 but that's it
Riding home today my bike lost power for a few moments of couple times and aside from the fuel filter I have no idea what to even begin to check besides the entire ignition system
Tank is low but not nearly low enough to prevent fuel draining to empty in the float bowls. Still at least 2” above fuel pickup

What if I have a single carb bike? It will start and run, but the right pipe is warm, while the other is hot like normal.
Any advice would be great I have a Honda vfr800fi has hardly been used for 6years no mot in that time just stored in a garage the previous owner said they turned it over every now and then it’s immaculate condition for a 23 years old bike , it’s starts okay runs like lumpy at idle , now I took it for a mot and around 3.5 to 4k it stutters not a misfire but lurching forward once you get past 4 thousand rpm it’s smooths out and revs freely to high rpm I haven’t checked the plugs or coils yet any idea what’s likely to be bad injections system fuel pump or something more complex thanks for any advice btw it’s done 9.600 miles .

Great video. my bike does the same thing but it does it while idling. It will misfire then run, misfire then not run and misfire while running. I'm no professional so it is run like that. Will run fine at mid range rpms but aggressively misfire and bog at full throttle. Anyone want a 01 ninja ex250-f with a rebuilt 2013 250r engine?😅

Hey, I have a 2006 Cbr600rr and its been misfiring randomly. It mostly does it when the bike is hot, but sometimes when its cold and generally in low RPM.
I changed the spark plugs, coils, did a fluid wash, gas stabilizer, oil change, checked the connections and related electrical stuff. When I put the new coils in, I made sure that the strips were all the way in.
Any idea what could be causing it to still misfire?

2005 yamaha r6. Recently went down . Replaced the subframe and rear wheel now it wont start. Just cranks n cranks but wont turn over. Do you think it's my spark plugs?

@@TheLegendaryLoso You'll need to do some basic fault diagnosis. Power, signal and ground checks on basic stuff like coils and injectors. This will give you some direction.

hot and cold beer. slow down . man i spent 49 years work on the road. it can get to you. i bought a 900 v twin .it was raining bullets no way would i get my bolls wet. the guy drop t the bike of. tax ins it out the road it had me up the tank. the inner throats wear black. dame what have i bought. it had just been mot .the day it kame to me. back tyre split. and so on. a new TSP fitted carb injectors lower seals fitted new plugs .removed secondary air flow. bike all ways starts . then starts missing plugs black. The dash would not see the problems .even when you have TSP centred in the speedo. new muffles added . bike ticks over with a slit miss. front cylinder could be coil or plug is starting to fowled up. bought a 900 yam. took 10 weeks to figer out the flooding new parts fitted still leaking .took them to top Honda mechanic. he did a check . ask so many.no one seen the problem .one day eBay same carbs as black as you could get. i seen the problem i fell of my seat. ? i put the carbs on the bike it ran like dream... 59000. stood for 9years. just thing that you can not see. i will read some more of your videos .in time thank from john.
i thought mine was plug or coil but it wasn't they where ok not as bad as this but its carbs off tomorrow and look at this . many thanks video ok

@@jakedyer2230 carbs sorted mostly but it still pops untill warm on that cylinder for 5 mins.
But what when the motorcycle has one pilot jet ? Can a single cylinder run with a blocked pilot ? Sucking from the jet needle , anyway this bike must be idling pretty smoothly with one cylinder a passenger . l thought any throttle position misfire can't be mistaken , unlike the cause which brings back bad days .Lol
Thanks for the comment 👍 This bike is fuel injected so won't behave in the same way a bike with carbs would. Assuming the FI system is in closed loop the engine would trim the amount of fuel delivered (short term trim) to keep the mixture flip flopping either side of stoic. This should make the idle speed high but this is also controlled electronically by the Idle Air Control Valve (IACV).
A single cylinder carburateed bike won't idle if the pilot jets is completely blocked. It'll only start using fuel from the needle circuit once you start getting on the throttle. Depending on the design of the carb about 2500 rpm.

For the better maybe , your neat little trick l will keep in mind diagnosing dead cylinders for cars. Cheers .

So if I properly understanded the situation, instructions are next to find out do we have misfire:
1. Turn on iginiton
2. Start engine
3. Put thermo-gun on all four headers and check all of them
4. Temperature will be a our result (In the other words, if the one of total four headers are doing misfire there will be no heat on header = misfire is there)
