      If I have on makeup and my nose starts running, I put some tissue/toilet paper on a q-tip and use that to clear up my nose so it doesn't touch all over my makeup

      Naezbless1 The powder she used doesn't create any flashback at all and the best part is that big container is only & 10-$12 on Beautylish.com. You use so little it will last you forever. I won't use anything else. It also doesn't make your face look powdery in person either.

    Yes!! I have been using my paint pot from MAC in soft ochre on blemishes that are red or dark spots for years! I thought I wasn't supposed to bc it's drying and obviously, it's for eyes but it works and it STAYS PUT! AWESOME that another UA-camr figured out how to use it in a similar way as well. Now that I know nikkia uses it that way too I don't feel so dumb putting it on as a concealer almost. Bc she has THEE BEST TIPS ON ALL OF UA-cam FOR OILY SKIN GIRLS!! And not ONE of the best, I mean THEE best! I love her, she is one of the few that hasn't turned into a narcissist and stuck on herself. Still puts out great quality videos and doesn't involve herself in the drama and gossip like some other bigger UA-camrs. That's like finding a diamond in the ruff on here! Thank you Nikkia, for staying the same as you were in the beginning. More and more subscribers are looking to watch smaller channels or channels that are big but are truthful and not sell outs only producing one video a week that is heavily influenced by shady companies sponsorships and affiliate codes and dishonest reviews. It means alot to have channels like yours, your a breath of fresh air on UA-cam for the beauty community!

We will be #oilyskinsisters for life!!!!! And we will win the battle against oily skin!!💪🏼So much love to you😍😍😍

    • @nikkiajoy
      @nikkiajoy  7 років тому +66

      Haha it doesn't have to be exactly an hour - just try to do your skincare immediately when you get up - then do the other stuff (breakfast, hair, get dressed, eyeshadow etc) and then apply your foundation and cheek products last! This will give your skincare the maximum amount of time to absorb :) xx

      As soon as I get out of the shower I apply my face oil, then I brush my teeth. After that, I put on my primer, then I pick my clothes for the day, mess with my hair and get something to drink. Then I do my makeup: concealer on discolorations and nose, then setting powder, lip moisturizer, foundation, highlight and contour, eye primer, blush, set highlight and contour, eyeshadow(s), powder, setting powder, rose water, highlighter/illuminator, setting spray. That way each area has a little bit of extra time to dry and settle before I put down the next step because I don’t have time to wait when I get ready in the morning.
      Priorities in order - sleep, shower, makeup, breakfast. Breakfast almost never happens. 😂 yay for snacks at work!

    • @shadagreen
      @shadagreen 6 років тому +2

      If I still have time after my “necessary” makeup, I do lip gloss, liner, setting powder on liner, lipstick, eyeliner, setting spray to whole face (again) and mascara. If no one else is in the elevator on the way up to work I’ll spray my face with a bit more setting spray on my way to the office (about as far as I can do without my glasses on) I need my makeup to stay put and I’m also oily and prone to sweating! Maybe a little of my OCD is in that routine but it works out for me. 😁

    That's the same thing my neice told me this weekend, said to do my eyes then do the rest of my makeup. I've just been use to doing the opposite, never too old to change a habit. I guess that's why my sunscreen was balling up, wasn't giving it time to set. She told me to wait at least 15 minutes then apply my primer and makeup. So far so good. Just ordered that makeup in your color, got to try it.

    EVERY time I use a damp beauty blender to apply my powder it looks HORRIBLE! Either it looks like actual patches of powders laying on my skin or it will look like a lace-like mask. Does anyone else experience that? it doesn't matter the foundation,primer,powder etc. Every single time I've tried (which is a lot!) it looks so bad. Great video though, I'm all about making that makeup last!😊

    I'm an oily/sensitive skin type and since sticking to the most basic skincare routine I don't even get break outs anymore and my skin isn't as red and oily. I find that the less products I use the better my skin is. I also stopped using the Smashbox primer and it's made a big difference. All I do is bake my oily areas and set my makeup with the Laura Mercier powder and this is all I need to do to stay matte for longer. In the summer I use the skindinavia spray for extra longevity. Not forgetting your Mac paint pot technique which has helped so much Nikkia! x

    I recently saw a dermatologist who literally changed my skin but also gave me good advice about makeup ahaha. While it's obviously good to have tips like this it's also good to use blotting sheets and a powder to touch up in the day. I know this sounds like common sense but a lot people think that makeup should (or lasts on everyone else) for 15+ hours and it shouldnt!(unless you are very dry) I was someone who never ever touched up my makeup but now I do it I feel like I'm enjoying more products :)

    Yes your videos are very helpful. I recently started showing my skin (finally lol) some TLC. I have extremely oily skin like you wouldn't believe but since I've started taking in all your advice and pointers it has done wonders to my skin! And it's only been a few days. Ugh don't get me started on the pores! But they too have minimized just by having clean skin :)

      Also I've noticed that when I set my under eyes and face with powder using a damp beauty blender, it can look patchy and like the product just totally disappeared and it's super annoying. It's so hard to have a flawless face when I do my makeup.

    Omg Nikkia this is what I needed I notice some foundations do not last a long time.
    I don't have time to wait an hour for my skin care to settle down before going work any recommendations like using certain products that are fast drying or just continue with our recommendations like setting spray, and primer 😘thank you

      Try doing your skincare straight after your shower or as soon as you get up in the morning! Then do the other stuff - breakfast, get dressed, do your hair etc and then do your makeup as the last part of your morning routine! This will at least give your skincare the maximum amount of time to absorb :) xx

      Hi Katy! I also wear makeup in real life and in my job as a Nurse/Paramedic - so I totally understand what its like to be under the pump! What does work is shower or wash your face as soon as you get up and apply your skin care straight away. Then do everything else (get dressed, do your hair, have breakfast, brush teeth, pack work bag etc) and THEN apply your makeup right before you leave. It will ensure your skin care has the maximum chance to absorb into the skin :)

    After I set my foundation with powder I spray my Morphe sponge with setting spray, I'm currently using Maybelline master fix. Then i press the sponge to my skin while it's still wet from the setting spray. It helps my makeup stay matte but doesn't prevent it from rubbing off. I'm oily on my chin, nose, inner cheeks next to my nose, forehead, and eyelids/undereyes! Then I proceed with blush, highlight, eye makeup, eyebrow powder (I use dip brow or pencil with my cream products, then set my brows when I set the rest of my face) and then finish off with lip liner and lipstick, and setting spray, but I prefer to let it sit and really hydrate my skin and soak into it rather than pressing it in with a sponge, I feel like the sponge soaks up the setting spray and makes it less effective than when I just let my setting spray air dry. And I never though of using an under eye primer, nothing I do helps with creasing and dryness!

    • @kylied5234
      @kylied5234 7 років тому +1

      Haide da chetem I'm not sure about them clogging pores, but I do know that they are very high in alcohol, so I only use them on special occasions as even though I have oily skin, the alcohol dries my skin out and then I get even more oily.

      Haide da chetem Sorry, just retread your comment (I have a 2 yr old & 4yr old both talking at me too...) They actually work really well for me, I just use them down the centre of my face and find that's enough to mop up the excess oil on my face... Not sure how old you are, but I'm 39 and have found my skin is much less oily than it was even in my early 30's... still oily though 🙄I don't have as many wrinkles/fine lines as many of my friends though...
