To me, house is defined by strong bass lines, groovy repetitive drums and an overall more organic, human feel than other styles of electronic music. This sounds like the modern definition of tech house, but to me it is just house music. Think of how different “tech house” sounded 10 years ago
Julien thanks for the best content on UA-cam. Another level tutorials bro, amen. Any chance you can do a drum programming tutorial with all the shuffling drum placement interaction tricks for house, please? It's the actual drum placement I'm struggling with, I can't hear what's going on in my favourite tracks to be able to replicate them.
Wow, I'm super impressed, totally suprised also - I just had a look at Julians Sample Pack wesbsite for the first time and I'm totally speechless - fully astounded at how talented and skillled a producer he is. His sample packs are superb. He's telling the full truth when he says that his sample are the of the highest quality.
Your ability to explain everything while creating a track so quickly is incredible.
Most people say that if you can’t do, you teach. You have proven that theory wrong Julien. You have an amazing gift as a producer and teacher. Cheers Julien. Hope 2021 brings you much joy, and keep doing what you are doing
Dude i love your music and your tutorials please never give up🙏🏾❤🔥🔥🔥oh and are you able to make a tutorial om how to make a track like KAASI
That stuff is gold. Definitly donate and buy some samples, only to support this.
Great teacher, I love how you approach and demonstrate. Keep up Julien! :D
You're enormous....So natural instinctive.... Awesome....Thanks Julien for your judicious tutorials...............So I'm a Twitter follower too.... Free your soul and save my mind ;)
well said
hey man, just wanna say that I've been watching your videos and I think they are great, keep up the good work!
Your videos are very informative - many thanks for sharing these ideas - very good.....
Hey Julien, I like videos like this so much better then “How to make tracks like X”. You can inject your own style while exploring different ideas and perhaps use techniques from artists that you yourself like to make something new and fresh.
I’ve been critical about you in some previous vids but am not afraid to admit that this video is great!
Hope you do more vids like this, cheers!
levels of complexity videos are top notch helpful, thnks!
Bro progressive house tutorial please ♥️
On UA-cam there are talented teachers and there are talented producers. Julien is the unicorn.
No Doubt!
Which pack is the M1 piano in?
:O Love this kind of videos a lot!
Awesome as always
Why put a drum buss on every track?
Great tutorial.
Nice one!
Thanks dude, this is gold.
Thanks
amazing tutorial!
Thank you for simplifying and for the clarity! You are amazing! I love you Julien! Thank You!

adding DB with the low shelf on the kick/bass bus is robbing you of all kinds of track volume and group fatness. Not only do sounds that low have to be much (almost double) louder to be perceived as the same loudness as noises in the 640-1280 octave, they also require just over twice as much of an amps power for a speaker to replicate. Meaning in the end you're looking at about 25% return on each db of eq gain in the sub bass frequencies.
I didn't have an issue with live 9's 30htz min HPF frequency, most of the time cutting a bit higher than that. But if your tracks are going to be getting play on super hi fi systems then live 10 has just what you need with HPF min freq of 10htz. I like between 160htz and 320htz for traditional 'fatness' and up a bit around 400 for 'boomy' (for my tuned 808 baselines mostly)
This is thech house for sure but the insights are really good so I don't care. I'm glad it didn't say so in the title or I wouln't have clicked tbh. I'm just gonna try to apply these things using more classic sounding house drums
Damm you got me with the title
Hey Earl. Big fan of the 10 levels of complexity vids! I have one request. Can you make 10 levels of complexity for the psytrance genre
This is tech house not house
yeah but it's still house music
do you read your comments before you hit post
@@ovasiles still house music??? Maybe you dont know what just only "house" means! Its very different to "tech house".
@@josealcantaramarino3149 HOUSE MUSIC- 10000 subcategories, ''techhouse is one of them.
@@heusstefan4075 no! Every subcategory of house is very different! I’m Progressive House / Melódic Techno producer.
Make some tutorials without bla bla bla ;)
No.way.. its much better if he explains things..,
