  • A clinician has asked me about the difference between apraxia vs ataxia. Clinically it can be challenging to differentiate between them if you don’t use brain imaging.
The reason why it’s vital to differentiate between apraxia and ataxia, is that you treat them differently.
In this video I explain the difference between ataxia and apraxia, how to use brain imaging to differentiate them, and what is the difference in the way you treat them.

I'm thinking that I'm in some kind of early brain malfunction. I lose my balance at times, no signs of dizziness, just lose balance. my body reacting as if I almost fall but so far have not. Sometimes when walking I'll veer off to the right by one half a step, always to the right. I have been diagnosed with early dementia. My speech and cognition were affected. Since I have been taking Donepezil, increasing activity that requires thinking like games and being involved in mechanical and using a Photobiomodulation device (Vieralight Gama) my symptoms have greatly reduced. But the balance issues are still there. I'm not asking for any kind of diagnosis, just your take on the experience you have seen?

Get off the doctor dope. It's very dangerous. Your balance issues can probably be fixed by exercising more. Maybe try a Tai Chi class core Pilates or something where you get movement into your body. Also maybe try a brain supplement like phosphatidylserine. But the main thing is to keep the body moving so your brain gets used to the movements as you go left and right. The brain has two hemispheres left and right. They must be balanced for good thinking as well as just good everyday balancing and movement. These are just a few tips for you I'm not a doctor or trying to cure or diagnose or prescribe anything these are just my own feelings. I'm trying to help a fellow citizen. Hope this helps you. I had vertigo once and it was very, very difficult to deal with. I think it was some difficulties I was dealing with at the time. Good luck to you❤

My doctors are having a hard time diagnosing me. I have the cognitive, language, and balance issues… so frustrating to not have a diagnosis that doctors agree on! Your comment made me feel less alone in all this! Thanks.
