Spoke to a few brands this morning around this topic, follow up video coming tomorrow and I think everyone can calm down a little lol.
@@TechnicallyTee look forward to seeing it unfortunately for me who buys 100’s of cases this is a passionate topic for me but yes I need to start to learn to chill more no doubt. 🤷🏻♀️🧘♀️😎
Tee what’s up with Benks going cheap on their buttons for the ArmorPro? Noticed they switched from metal buttons to TPU buttons and that was gonna be my main case 💀
Just received the red Andar case. I’m not feeling the cut out. I hope they change to a button cover
@@caprioguylol, you’re not feeling the cutout because there’s nothing there!
@@jasonpierce1618 Depending on how the cutout is made there might be some where you feel it more, the one I bought has a nice curve that goes down a little bit at the cutout to make it smooth, so it feels nice when im holding it. Of course it might change a little once I get the phone inside the case but I think it will be fine.
I feel like Mous may have missed the mark with this new limitless case, the cutout looks so big
Yep. Writing this from my 15 with limitless case on it.... will not get it for 16 because of this huge cutout.
@@lizzielein777 Ditto, 14 pro is in a Mous case. Definitely not upgrading to the new one
Seriously, this was the first thing I noticed and went “wow Mous…for the case that’s known for protection, that is a big miss. If the phone lands on that spot you are TOAST.” If I upgrade to a 15 pro I may get another limitless (assuming Kevlar case fit issue was fixed) a 16 though? I’m looking elsewhere.
I do also feel like the case is more likely to fall off with a drop as well, think it will have to be the Apple silicon case until the rest of them sort it out
Great Video Tee, a massive no for me. At this point I’d rather go Caseless. Currently rocking the Nomad Magnetic Leather Back and that’s the way forward for me 😂
I hate the cutouts. Supcase and even Apple is doing right with the camera button cover on their cases.
Spigen has one as well and I think I’m probably going with that one because it’s probably the most protective one with the camera control button covered
@@MrMruck05 I really hope so. I usually rock Spigen cases over any other cases.
@@Frankiee_Cruz currently its listed as out of stock so idk if they released it and it sold out or they just haven’t released it yet but already have the plans
OtterBox chose different ways, Symmetry Cactus has a big cutout, Lumen has a capacitive button. We‘ll see what works best. Ordered Both
@@MrMruck05 I received mine yesterday for my Black Titanium 16 Pro Max. I got the Ultra Hybrid with Graphite Mag Safe and Camera Control.
I purchased Apple's silicone case with the 16 Pro Max. While I don't particularly love how it looks, I'll never buy a case with a massive cutout for the camera button.
I believe that Apple silicone or clear case is the way to go, at least right out of the gate, until we see how the other companies choose to solve the camera button issue.
@@Steviewayright I agree that's why i cancelled all my other cases I ordered and gonna get just an Apple Case for now (or Beats / Otterbox lumen)
Spigen just came out with w clear case ala apple protecting the camera control
@@jbeltran8245 sadly not where I live :/ (not from the us)
“Bite out of damn crime!” 🤣. I got a feeling half your audience won’t get that reference 😂
That’s a fact 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Get a brotha hip
While most in the comments will say this is just lazy on the brands part, I will add that I’ve spoke to a few brands in the last few hours and I can understand why the cutout is the route they went with. Might made a follow up video explaining my findings but still love the comments and the conversation this is bringing up in the comments.
Would be really interested in this video!
Yes tee can you please do a follow up would love to hear what case manufacturers are saying about this new wonderful camera button 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
I mean it does make sense and understandable apple would be able to develop a better case to support camera control considering it's THEIR PHONE.
I wonder how much time the other brands got a sample product to R&D a case that supports it? This still doesn't change the fact that apple as of right now is the way to go for cases.
Would also love follow up video
Ya, they just wanted to push something (anything) out to the market without actually testing it on real device.
I hate all cases with cut outs
Seeing that Supcase added that capacitive button tells me that Apple did share the info. So that means the other case companies knew but decided to go the cheap/easy way. I'll be skipping them this year.
It’s possible adding a tactile feedback button will be very expensive for case manufacturers especially those that have already been produced
@@Paa375Tough 💩 The cases are WAY over priced as it is. 👎 Pure profit for them…
Some of these cut outs look as if Mike Tyson took a bite out of them..😅
I may have to get an Apple case this year. Hopefully they keep improving. I don’t think that button is going anywhere soon. I absolutely hate it.
Yeah i went with an apple clear case this year just for the button, maybe if other companies are able to successfully emulate it I’ll switch it out
That new button has to be the worst moving backwards decision ever! There is absolutely no need for it. Controls you can already do on screen.
I believe that the major issue with this cut out being open is that Dirt and grime can get down in there and build up overtime. For me it has to be a cover on that camera button so I’m gonna go with the Apple Silicon case.
I typically buy 5-10 cases each year for my new iPhone, but let me be clear, if your case has a cutout, you won’t be getting my money. I’ve gone with the Apple silicone case for now and I’ll be keeping an eye on what other companies come up with.
Yeah same here for first time ever I have apple silicone case
Wow wish I could just buy 10 cases a year case manufacturers all of them make a huge profit on me
Jeez I understand a couple maybe, but 5-10?!?! haha
@@fallis07 try 50
@@fallis07 I know, it's kind of a problem but I can't just have same case on my phone all the time haha
A LOT of people asked for a camera button but making it a Force Touch button complicates things

The gigantic cut out is such a turn off. I’ve seen some great cases I want but didn’t buy them because of the cut out. I want a button!! Hopefully it’s like the 15 pro situation where some third case manufacturers fixed their cut out for the action button.
It’s not the same as the action button the action button has no tactile feedback so very easy to solve that will a button this camera button is completely different it can’t just be a plastic button it has to be a special button no case manufacturers are going to spend that kind of money doing that

That cutout is really the reason I am not buying the Mous this year, I love their cases for years and its always the first I buy since the 10. Picking up my 16PM this Friday will see which one I pick up....
Thanks so much for this video. This needed to be said.
The position of the cutouts is particularly problematic for left-handers like myself. I’ll be sticking with the Apple Silicone until capacitive covers become time-tested on third-party cases. Cases with cutouts are an immediate no-go.
That large cutout is a total deal breaker! It’s ugly as hell and extremely bad for the safety of the phone. Better rocking the phone naked than with one of those atrocities called a case.
Feel like our hands will hit that button a lot just holding the phone. I’m surprised Apple put a button where you hold the phone. Great video man.
The go to channel for phone cases ,accessories and in depth conversations 🔥💪🏻
Thanks I appreciate it and that’s what this video was about, just having the conversation around this topic for sure. Love reading the comments on a video like this.
I hate cut outs on cases. That’s why I’ve refused to use several of Apple’s on cases in the past. I’ll be passing in the iPhone 16. As you said nobody asked for this.
the iPhone 17 will probably still have the shutter button
Going Apple. All gigantic cutouts = Fail
Same. Hopefully these third party case providers fix that and add a button.
💯, cutouts would be hard to live with
You are speaking my mind. I was thinking the same thing! The cutouts are ridiculous, and I'm sure the feel will not be great. The average of $50- $60 these companies are charging does not justify their efforts for this year. And thank you for holding Pitaka and Mous accountable and calling them out on it. I bought the Mous Limitless 6.0 for my new iPhone 16 Pro Max, but honestly, I'm expecting Mous to either offer a replacement when the do it right or at least provide a significant discount for next year when they decide to properly design it like Apple did with their silicon cases. They charge WAY too much for this.. Again, thanks for calling them out.
With all those cutouts on the Pitaka, they better cut the price too. They aren’t cheap and with that many cut outs they ain’t giving you much for your money 😂
Lmmmmaooooooooo! This really made me laugh out loud at work 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Mous cases are excellent. However on this occasion the limitless 6.0 has missed the mark. Disappointing !
That gigantic cutout on the Mous case looks hideous lol. I definitely love how Supcase approached the camera control cutout. Just ordered one! Hopefully it works well! I bought 2 other cases from Smartish & ESR. They both used the beveled edge cutouts which are ok but I definitely prefer it to be covered
I've got a Spigen clear MagSafe case on my desk right now that I think I'm going to return and order the Apple official case
Yeah I think you will see an increase in Silicone case sales lol.
@@TechnicallyTee I just ordered the clear Apple one. Silicone ones get stuck in my pocket and get all fluffy 😂
Spigen has one with the camera control as well in more protective case than the apple silicone. I’m still a little torn which one I’m going to get. I have a feeling the 3rd party cases with the camera control button covered are probably going to have some problems. That said I also could not care less about the button. I’d rather have a case that covered over the button than one like Mous.
@@MrMruck05 yeah I saw that model but they don’t do it in the UK store for some reason
I went with the Beats case and clear Apple case solely because of the completely covered cutout. Hopefully, many other companies hop on board.
These case companies need to get it together! Nomad is my go-to for my phone cases and they went the cut-out route, so I won't be purchasing from them this year unless they make an updated version.
Agreed 💯 there needs to be a button. Spigen has one case with the camera control button as well.
If Mous wants to keep charging $70 for a basic case then they need to revamp that camera button to be more similar to the Apple brand case
I wouldn't say I like the cutout, but I think the Caudabe cutout looks okay. I will give the Synthesis a try since the plastic around the edges is usually pretty rigid, so hopefully, the cutout section is not too loose.
Hopefully they update their cases and add a camera button
Nobody does case videos like Tee!
I appreciate it bro. 💪🏽💪🏽
I’m definitely defaulting to the Apple silicon case (lake green).
Hopefully by the time that one inevitably starts to wear down, these third party companies will have figured out how to implement a similar solution that button on the side instead of a cutout
Ha! Classic _Trell!_ *...ALWAYS sending a dang text 'n getting notifications in the way right during the middle of shooting videos!*
😂 *_*slaps knee*_*
I honestly prefer the cutout design with Pitaka and Mous. I have a Pitaka case for my iPhone 15 Pro. I love that I can have direct contact with the phone's buttons the way the designers intended. I didn't like the idea of not enjoying the natural titanium look of my phone by immediately slapping it into the case. The case has saved my phone from light drops. May not be for everyone though.
I think every case manufacturer should just pay Apple a license or whatever and use their capture case button in their phone cases. Don't do cutouts.
While some won’t be a big deal and probably work just fine, if these case companies do redesign them, they better be giving us early adopters a revised one. This is like the action button mess all over again.
This was going to be the first year I try mous till I seen that cut out
Love the approach with this video - this is the iPhone case community and Tee- you are our voice. You have our back and are ensuring we are getting the best bang for our buck. This will have case manufacturers on watch and will make them step their game up. I will give case manufacturers the benefit of the doubt for the first round - but I will only buy cases that have the button covered. Even if that means I am rocking the apple silicone case the whole time. Looking forward to Caudabe and Mous to step it up as they have historically been known for implementing improvements based on customer feedback.
I absolutely hate the way some of these case companies are designing the cases for the 16 line. Like why does otterbox have that massive cut out for the camera button?? Aren’t they supposed to be a more protective case company 😭 it looks lazy as heck, I hate it.
Ruining all of the great cases by putting a button where no one even wanted a button might be the most Apple thing ever. 😂😂
I was on the verge of cancelling my pitaka order for a military grade case and you gave me the final reason to do so and order the silicone case
Some case manufacturers have the crystal piece for the camera control already (more on the way of course), Apple’s silicone case is nice af lol
I really, really wanted to rock with Mous again this year. But I just can’t deal with that cutout. Seems like they just phoned it in this year and for the price they charge, I just can’t.
I ended up going with that same color Apple case that you have
I received my Otterbox Defender for my 16 Pro Max and let me just say that cutout is GIGANTIC! I was so disappointed bc I do not think it would be that bad. It’s worse than these.
The Mous case is hideous. Worst one I’ve seen yet.
Spigen came up with ultra hybrid T , that one has button
Yeah that’s one out of their whole lineup. Companies aren’t sure how it’s going to work so they aren’t cashing all in on the button.
Spigen also has an ultra hybrid with a covered capture button. I wonder how that will compare to Apple/Supcase.
Also the Otterbox Lumen has a covered button and from the pics, it seems like just a super thin piece of material, but covered none the less.
And then there’s cases with a super tiny cutout that’s literally just the pill shape of the button itself exposed, IE the Otterbox Figura.
It’ll be interesting to see how they all play out
The best option is the supcase , the 2nd is the spigen it’s not bad but the mous and pitaka is outrageous
Yeahhhhhhhh it’s going to be interesting to see how they are once the phone gets here.
@@TechnicallyTee I feel like a lot of companies are gonna lost money but you right we’ll see
@@BigDon._jr is it though? We won’t have the phones yet and it’s using a copper button and not the sapphire like Apple. Curious how it’s gonna work.
@@danieljutt3941 yeah I ordered 1 of each actually the supcase and spigen so can’t wait to test it out
I don't understand why more case companies didn't go the Apple route and put a crystal button over it, it just seems lazy to go the way of "let's just take a chunk out of the case". I think the case I'm leaning toward is the bullstrap contemporary case
Had convo with a few brands and I now understand why they didn’t go that route. Might make a follow up video explaining it.
@@TechnicallyTee I'm assuming they didn't have the actual iPhone units in hand to actually test it out. imagine they produce an entire line of products and find out they don't work that well, that's like the whole action button situation but worse. Apple obviously are gonna make the best version of it cuz its their own phone.
@@TechnicallyTeePlease make that follow up video.
@@TechnicallyTee would appreciate the follow up video and more importantly - if any action will be taken from the case manufacturers - Mous and Caudabe - I am looking at you!
apple should have made a desert/brown case
they should bring back leather
I like the way they made the apple case the most because it just looks smooth and flat but I am not fond of those, my IPhone 14 apple case tore up in little under 3 weeks and I am not rough on my phone. 😔
Apple silicone case will start falling apart within a month is the only shitty part
They’ve always held up well for me.I’ve used them for a whole year at a time with no issues.
@@davidjacobs6244 silicone starts to
Come off, I’ve had a few and does it every time
EXACTLY the video I was looking for, tyvm
I saw on one of Spigen's social media that they seems to have a button for one of their cases and they did confirm that it's coming soon. But meanwhile I'm prolly gonna stick to the Apple silicone case for now.
Here for the case review, stayed for the pure comedy gold. 😂😂
man, that open cutout will be the point of failure for the case as well. but the minimalist cases will be having a kick out of it
I’m a Mous fan but the cut out for the camera button looks like an afterthought. They could have done it a little more subtle or a little more refined but instead it looks cheap even though it’s so expensive. I bought it but I don’t think I will keep it.
If Pitaka don’t put a conductive button on the MagEZ Pro imma have to get the Apple Silicone case…. I can’t do the cutout now I know there’s a better way!
Pure laziness. Was expecting more from MOUS.
lol they need sell or give away a sticker like piece with the correct button added to fill in the hole
Capacitive button or ceramic glass button is the way to go, just spend a bunch of money on cases I am going to check out but from the sounds of it. They probably arent going to make the cut.
Otterbox has the right idea with their lumen case as well, they just use a button that sits directly on top of the camera control instead of a cutout.
all these cases with cutout are wack, im glad you called them out on it
I will definitely buy the Apple silicone case I type a lot with my hand lower on the phone and I feel like that cut out will drive me nuts.
Phone rebel flex case will probably be the best case to buy this year no cutouts for the sides well done Philip you will do extremely well this year.
Yeah I wasn't feeling the cutout version of the spigen ultra hybrid for the 16 pro max when it arrived in the mail. I went back and ordered the T version of said case. 👍🏽
I bought the Spigen case... but after your video... I'll probably return it for an official Apple case that covers the "button". That's the point of a case... protection. If it doesn't protect... it's not a case.
I originally ordered the Mous, but totally agree the gap for the control button is way too big and creates a real weak spot. I’ve already requested a return for the product and will buy the Apple case until something better comes out
You and everyone else on the planet
Just bought shares in Apple make me money Apple.
Everyone is complaining on Mous’s iPhone 16 release video. Doesn’t sound like they’re changing anything based on what they’ve said in the comments (until everyone starts returning lol)
@@BeamCrasherNG where can I watch the video
Cutouts defeat the purpose of a case
I really wanted the camera button. We’ll see if the situation improves on the case side of things.
Thank you, this was very informative and it was exactly what I was looking for.
I preordered the sheath and honestly after finding out a button is possible I'm a bit pissed now. Why should early backers get a worse produict.
I hope they come out with new versions and offer an atleast 50% discount to those who bought a version with a hole inside...
The problem with Mous is that they are so arrogant and pretentious. They unveiled their 16 case claiming spectacular innovation and technology and in reality they done heehaw. They cut a big hole in their frame and called it a day. It surely affects the integrity of their case aswell.
Caudabe sheath better choice it’s looks nice for 16 series
Going with the Arc Pulse this year. Going to enjoy feeling the actual phone in my hand and not having some weird cut out for the camera button
Damn. Rolled the dice for me and my wife with the Torres cutout for the iPhone 16 pro
You literally blew my mind with this video, so 100% correct! Lazy case makers just not covering that button.
Damn. I think I might be all-in on that Apple one! Had no interest in their silicone case, but that slider ceramic thingy is a must-have for protecting my new phone.
have yall seen the otterbox cases this year?? absolutely trifling
The heck with that button case company’s should just make the case to cover that button up and forget it lol
The cut out just hits wrong.
I know companies will get their version of “Ceramic Glass” implemented into their lines in short order, as they did with the Action Button cut outs.
As soon as I saw how that button worked the first thing I thought about was what tee thought about it as far as cases go.
The fact that it *can* be done with a button pretty much leaves any brands with a cutout on their cases looking like they've jumped the starting pistol. In the past, one of the big turn-offs for many has been the cutout at the bottom of Apple's clear cases. Any iPhone 16 cases with a button cutout are likely to be unpopular, also.
Nah , mous aint right with the design this year , not gonna buy that
This will be tough for case companies. Apple’s case has sapphire crystal, the same material as the button. It will take some time for companies to catch up.
I always go with mous sadly not this time, I can’t believe there as protective . it will be the apple silicone I think
I like the new button. I think UA-camrs who are complaining about it are just doing so they can make content. Thats my opinion
Which UA-camrs are complaining? Didn’t see any
I’m not doing this to make content is that’s what you’re getting at. I like to get the conversation started in order to give the people looking for cases something to think about.
Apple: We’re solving a problem that didn’t exist until we said so.
Makes sense, they can't test and guarantee how well it works with the button. So just cutting it out until they can get their hands on a phone to figure out the best way to do it is the smart decision.
The issue I have with these massive cutouts in the cases is the case companies have increased their prices over 30 percent and you are getting less material than last year so that’s crazy to me!
Bought the Supcase and started the return on my Spigen case after watching this 😅
Same
I had to do me check but yes he calls the ultramarine colour on the Apple case ‘Submarine’ not even disappointed, I enjoyed the chuckle
GREAT video idea/concept. This is why I said to myself that my first case will be an apple case until manufacturers figure out what works best for this camera button
I had an Xperia in the past with a camera button. In mi opinion it’s not necessary, but it’s nice to have a camera shortcut.
I’ll let the other buttons be used for something else.
I got my Spigen Tough Armor in for my 16 Pro yesterday and the first thing I noticed was how incredibly thin that part is. I actually think the cutout feels perfect to me in the hand, but I do question if that thin piece of material will wear over time and if that's something case manufacturers are concerned about.
I had finally landed on Mous last cycle and have been very happy with it, but they will need to integrate a button cover or at least maintain some sense of frame coverage for me to use them again with the 16 series.
I get that 3rd party manufacturers have limited (if any) access to designs ahead of time to prevent leaks, but I think many of these cases will need V2's.
Looks like the phone rebel flex with its open sides is finally coming into functional use now. With apple’s titanium sides it will be pretty scratch proof too (for the most part).
giving a extra button is the best innovation of apple in this year. Seriously?!
Was bummed out when Mous put that case out. Took them out of the running and will use an Apple one until I find a solid alternative.
