Sfx team worked super hard. This movie went from F- to a hard D.

Well that tech has been around for years - everyone knows (or should know) that in 2010 they put Arnie Hammer's face on 2 people to make the Winklevoss twins. Not the same without Bill Paxton RIP
Arnold must be the most Cloned Actor in the history of humans
Why would you hire a bodybuilder, only to replace him with 95% CGI? Wouldn't just having an old Arnold play his younger self through CGI be simpler?
Because they can use the guys actual body and just cgi the head into arnolds. If arnold played young arnold they would have to only use motion capture and it would be 100% cgi because they then have to cgi the body and the head with cgi.
Because they didn't study the original footage enough and just eyeballed everything, which led to them messing it up.
If you look at the footage they shot with the body builder, the positioning and framing is off compared to 1984 terminator. They didn't want to bring everyone out there to reshoot since they already had footage that was good enough to be edited so they just removed the body builder and used cgi instead. Its generally easier to have the reference footage from 1984 on a second monitor on your desk, compared to looking at it on a set where added pressures like a light causing glare on the monitor, background noise and having to deal with people make recreating the scene way harder. The stuff they shot on set ended up being used as a reference for animation and lighting rather than for motion capture.
The actor himself could be a different series of a T-800!

Sadly this franchise will never go anywhere, we had a good chance with Salvation, but people didnt give it a chance.
Another 20 years or so and we probably wont even need real actors, everything and everyone will be CGI, is that a good thing or a bad thing though, good in that these actors will never age or can be aged to fit a role.
Now SAG is on strike. Studios want to be able to pay an extra $200 then scan them and use their likeness forever and however they want lol. It's a bad thing.

Nothing could’ve saved that film .
This film failed mainly because:
1) the storyline itself is wrong.
2) They shouldn't make movie on time travel anymore but focus on how Skynet taking over remake T3 that is wrong and badly done.
3) wrong unsuitable casts, John Connor, Sarah Connor and Kyle Reese are supposed to be Americans.
4) The future war scene too much CGI, looks unrealistic and bad

These CGI effects are nowhere near as immersive as they should be. The end result is nothing more than a high grade cartoon effect. Nice try, though. I'm just not sold on it right now.
If this was done in 2024, AI would be that last 5% that made this one seem uncanny valley territory!!!..

Even though the CGI FX is good. The plot summary still sucks and that makes the movie really bad.
maybe they should have bought the rights to the T1 footage of Arnold interacting with the punks rather then spending SO much time recreating it? The punks didnt even nail their lines or look anything like the originals. absolute crap of a film.
