The HBO, Comedy Central and Netflix star reflects on the life-changing tragedy of losing her cousin to alcohol consumption, predicting that alcoholism would have eventually taken her as well… had she allowed the illness to progress. I gave up alcohol 3 years ago thanks to Nikki’s interview with Rogan and reading that book. Thanks Nikki!
She describes alcoholism perfectly. It's ok to be one of us Nikki.
💯‼️
All of the worst decisions I've ever made in my life happened while drinking.
Me too!. Yet I still havent managed to completely get away from the drink
@@AshSmash123 For me it's just about moderation and not getting too out of control with it. If you can handle just a couple social drinks, I don't see a problem with it!
@@SIB_COMEDY absolutely right there pal!. But for me personally & I know for alot of others, it's all or nothing unfortunately. I can go without drinking for long periods, but on a drink day its morning until night. But would rather quit it completely which is the ultimate goal
@@AshSmash123 appreciate your honesty! And knowing this about yourself is a strength for sure. Keep fighting the good fight!
Me too. Our stories are all so similar.
Watching Nikki on Joe Rogan motivated me to stop drinking…3 years now..best decision ever.
Did you read that book she read?
@@jupiter_9999 yes, but didn’t think much of it. Read another one called the joy of being sober by Catherine Grey. I tapered down over a few weeks until I could go without. Best decision ever.
You are just the best interviewer Graham. Never interrupting, asking great questions, & such a calm demeanor. I don’t know why You don’t have a Million Subs 😊 I predict You will!
Totally agree.
It's amazing how self aware she is.
I love you Nikki! Thank you for your bravery and courage sharing all of this. I'm 9 months sober from alcohol. I was a high-functioning alcoholic so i didn't throw my life away per say but oh my god did it slow things down and caused many other issues. Man, I feel so much better. I'm so thankful you exist!
Quite possibly the best interviewer.
Going on 4 years next month..wasn't an alcoholic, gave it up for kids. So much better once you get used to it, sort out real friends
Totally agree and relate, well done!
Why are ppl being so rude. Nikki is incredible!!
Quit it 2 years ago
I may not have a social life now but I’m 34 anyways
I’m gettin too old for some of the shit ppl do
I don’t miss alcohol
Reading comments Lots of hypocrisy and judgment he who is without sin cast the first stone nobody is perfect Nikki lots of love
Shutchu mouf boy
Sin isnt real. Its a made up thing
Settle down gahndi
sounds like you're judging those who are judging.
Just found this dude's channel, hands down one of the best interviewers in the business...love how he's able to put the guests at ease enough to be able to ask almost anything and then just sit back and listen AND respond appropriately, dude is pure class 👌
Thanks for the convo Nikki!
Good for you Nikki and fellow St. Louisian…..I myself gave up boos and it is amazing…..you never realize how much time, money and control it has on you even if your an alcoholic or not…..it’s a dangerous addictive drug but it is so tax incentive and a way of life in this country no one stops to think how dangerous it can be
Bravo Nikki. This interview made me a super fan now. 22 years sober here. I can relate. Mr. Bensinger, thank you for asking the questions and letting the person answer the questions without the interruption. My biggest compliments. Your fantastic interview with Ron Howard and his family, was the first I saw of yours. And that was only a month or so ago. Keep it up. All the best to both of you!!
She’ hands down the funniest comedians to me on the roast shows
So inspiring. Thank You Nikki Glasser
being honest helps everyone of us , thanks
I had already liked Nikki, and thought she was funny. Now I think she is just awesome in every way.
Wonderful honesty. Not always a popular topic!
17 years sober luckily. Some of us have a genetic disposition to alcoholism, etc. I was fortunate to have a sister with the same problem take me to a place of support and understanding dealing with alcoholism.
Would like to see the people who make rude comments be interviewed and let millions of people see u be vulnerable and tell ur truth and see what people have to say.... She's just telling her story either listen r don't
Thanks for your courage
❤ Love your honesty ❤ you are an excellent example of how people can change.
Very brave and impactdul discussion
I love Nikki, she absolutely hilarious and super fun.
Love you Nicki, thank you for your vulnerability. You are perfect ❤️❤️
1:26 I just love how comedians are always gonna throw a joke in the middle of any conversation haha I love Nikki
Good for you Nikki and I am also a fellow St. Louisian. I was lucky enough to actually lose interest in alcohol, just woke up one day and couldn't stand the smell or taste anymore. Problem was I had been self medicating to offset another issue in my life which was almost impossible to handle on my own and I would not be able to properly describe the problem I was having to a professional (where it made sense to them) for another 10 years or so.
You made a great and difficult decision and I am so proud of you! What a great interview on both sides of the mic. You are so beautiful, entertaining and funny! Keep it coming!!!
Wow. Fascinating.
She makes a lot of sense.
The first effect of alcohol isn’t intoxication, it’s a dopamine hit.
Just like nicotine. I love it❤
Thats why i drink, smoke weed, drink caffiene. Jerk off, ride roller coasters. Etc. i think I’m addicted to dopamine
Nikki’s the best
I totally identify with some of the experiences she’s had. I gave up drinking too and while it was hard at first, once I did it, it changed my life in such a positive way. If you are struggling with this, you CAN pull out of it once you’re ready. 💪👊
How did you?
@@gowithin1116 After another night of fighting with my husband and realizing I was hurting him and myself and others around me and other associated problems all because of ONE ☝️ thing I could control, I laid in bed and asked to be filled with the Holy Spirit to help me let it go. It works.
My life’s forever changed, I won’t look back.
Great lady.
Nikki Glaser is ri-goddamn-diculously attractive, then her personality and humor just amplifies everything significantly. Her opening up like this has been a nice change of pace.
Yeah I’ve said those words once or twice in my life, “I won’t drink ever again”
"I think that's when my brain went 'start making memories, this is profound""
Lmao XD
Sober is sober... she has a way to go... but she's taking the right steps. Stay strong Nikki!
I love her.
I do. But its annoying how she thinks shes ugly. If thats ugly, then were all tarded
I wish I could heal Nikki
Obviously needing continued support thru trauma. Telling the truth is big step.
Alcoholism runs in my family. Especially the males. My cousin died of alcoholism at 39. I understand her social anxiety and using alcohol to handle situations
I'm 34 and have been drinking 2-3 times a week for a decade plus. How much alcohol do you have to drink to die at 39? Was thus person drunk 24/7?
@@BudSilverado420 you’re not an alcoholic. My dead friends drank 7 days a week
@@Ottophil . Well technically I am, I'm just not a severe or chronic alcoholic. I can binge drink 12 pack Friday, 12 pack Saturday maybe a few tall cans Sunday but after that I have the will power to stop.
Wow Nikki! I'm so proud of you. Anyone criticizing you doesn’t get it. None of us are perfect. We all make mistakes. And most of us are afraid. You are entitled to your mistakes.
Nice
I’m also mad at my mom’s behavior, can’t wait to let that shit go.
Nikki, i FUCKING LOVE U!!!... ur so genuine.
"Recovery, insanity, or death". Those are our options!
thats real shit. she does talk fast but thats the way she talks and thinks. u can tell in her comedy. Good for her though
Good for her on drinking.
4 years and going, havent had a moral hangover or being on cuffs for over 4 years!!!
Very funny lady
take it from a parent, the shit is hard and has no rule book. It's a pretty fucked deal.
Alcoholism that drives people into the grave doesn't start with fun, it starts with all encompassing depression and hopelessness. Getting drunk is the only way to feel happy and loose for a short time
General question from someone that drinks socially, I've seen and known a few ppl like Nikki that have problems and give up drinking altogether, why not try to manage your drinking, I only say that because I don't drink to blackout like she said and I find it great but if I do drink too much then there's a problem, like is it not possible for ppl like her to drink in moderation?
you are looking at this wrong way, you think its fun to be non sober in any way,is there really any need to be non sober?do kids need to be non sober, even slightly..no.
its learnt behaviour,if its no biggie to have a couple drinks, and therefore get slightly non sober, why do it,take the edge off?
I stopped drinking years ago,not because I had any problem, like you say,I just asked myself again and again,is there any reason to do this?unless I want to feel non sober,I face things now, always, life is better,I am better.
I dont know if it makes sense, but there it is
Nothing good ever happens with alcohol
1:26 her inner Jennifer Aniston came out, which is so cute.
I thought this was MTG for a second lol.
I think it’s kinda funny every question he makes he does this instigator face lol he might not even realize it
If, for you, drinking means you have to get drunk before you stop, you should definitely abstain.
wow, i did not know, that Owen Wilson had a drinking problem, good that it is better now
Jesus three bloggers and I still can't find the name of the book.
My poor mother. Narc kids always blame their mom for EVERY issue THEY have. All my sibs did that to my poor (single) mom.
I thought this was MTG in thumbnail...
So you literally haven’t stopped anything you have replaced one addiction with another ??makes sense
I bet if she dated me she would go back to drinking.🤔
Oh good. NOT drinking is finally NOT cool. And with Comedians too.
I agree. Alcohol is gross.
I love how it all revolves around her fucking strangers lol
I love how you have zero empathy towards a person who is being vulnerable talking about their past struggles
@@zrizzle19 welcome to the internet, where people make jokes lol
it’s okay to admit you lack emotional intelligence
She is interesting.
Alcohol damages your body…
So does fast food
If you die young. You don’t have to worry about having a damaged body
Big time
Ages you also
Makes you fight life unnecessarily.
You step outside the circle and can clearly see the truth.
Booze is the devil!
Croak Croak Croak.
So I sent him a email 🤦
Most entertainers have an alcohol problem because they perform in bars, nightclubs, events. It's a disorganized industry.
Gua
Nikki has a killer set of legs.
IMO alcoholic beverages are totally unnecessary.
That sounds like a terrible way to live.
Be thankful your date with her didn't go further
What if you got therapy
She's rattling on like a lunatic and Graham is keeping up, and asking questions based on her responses. Not just moving on to the next question. The guy is so good.
Oh stfu.. would you rather a guest not the talkative and half one word answers? That's just her personality. Why don't you get up there and do better
No need to call her a lunatic, topics like these are messy, there’s a lot to unpack
😂😂😂
Give it all up ado the steps. Go back to weed if you want after
Nikki is my perfect women, doesn’t drink, vegan, funny, hella hot, super sweet. I would take care of her for life
What a mess.
Alcohol is trash.
2 seconds to talk about sex.
Everyone commenting boo hoo. Grow a pair. No way any of you didn't have some amazing time drinking. At least you can admit that. Nobody cares if you drink or don't drink now.
Guaranteed Nikki ruined that chair.
I think she's lying about having 10 years sober.
Why do you think that?
That's so stupid lol. Hahah why would she say that 🤣 why lie. Lol
Love Nikki but she's a bit of a nut...
I don’t care
Your comment makes me think otherwise
funny you have no idea how stupid that post makes you look.
Remember, Pot is not drugs
First the man takes a Drink.
Then the Drink takes a drink.
Then the Drink takes the Man (woman).
Good for her. Alcoholism only progresses. Some people are just wired differently or use alcohol to self medicate. Whatever works for her.
Its because it makes her legs spread🤷
Who exactly is this person ?
Graham she did you the biggest favor in the world by turning you down. She's nuts and would have somehow crazily justified cheating on you
She hit the wall fast didn’t she? Damn, enjoy your 20’s ladies
LMFAOOO! I was about to say, i remember seeing her on the roasts and thinking she was hot back in 2016. She looks like the wicked witch of the west now! Wtf happened in just 6 years?!? Jesus christ the wall comes quick dont it?
This girl is a mess haha but glad she can joke about it.
a deeply uninteresting person
interesting jump to judgement
Clown
Clown
big time. she makes me want to drink.
This is gold 😂
I see a lot of cats and boxed wine in her future.
projecting buddy?
@@laffetum3050 nope. Just calling it as I see it, Simp.
@@giodagrate5369 wow you unironically using simp lmao. That's sad buddy you are not 15 grow up a little.
