I made them for my Dad (who posted these here) for Christmas 2021 as a gift to him as he's an enormous fan of Thin Lizzy and who has a personal connection to Phil's Family when he lived in the UK as a child and knew Phil as a child when he visited Ireland. As a bass player you dont know how hard it is to sing and run a bass guitar. Phil is exceptional here as the song has very difficult changes in tempo and rhythm. This is really a master class in how to be a front man and bassman

I LUVED IT THIN LIZZY SHOULD HAVE BEEN THE HEADLINERS BECAUSE THEY BLEW QUEEN OFF THE STAGE WITH MARSHALL AMP STACKS BLASTING ,& BOTH GUITAR PLAYERS WITH GIBSON LES PAULS IN HAND,THEY PLAYED A GREATEST HITS. WITH SOME NEW SONGS THAT WERE COMING OUT, MY EARS RINGED FOR DAYS, BUT THEY JUST VERY VERY GOOD WITH PHIL LYNIOTT LEADING THEIR WAY.I HAVE SAY, I GOT MY MONEY WORTH BY THAT CONCERT TICKET 🎫
Phil is the most underrated bass player of all time. To hit those licks and sing the way he did and never miss a beat is really difficult. His energy is off the charts also. Phil we are still listening!
What a lovely gift..not only 4 your dad. Not too easy, to let Phils improvised Live Vocals get in Sync with the studio recording..a labour of love I guess. ^^
A fantastic live band, Bob geldove always regrets not inviting Phil Lynott to reform Thin lizzy and Play at live Aid, it could have saved his life, and Thin Lizzy playing in front of 2 billion people World wide would have become. a mega rock band, like Queen thier fortune was fading, then the rest was history The Boys Are Back in Town (get your knickers down),👌😎
That is very interesting about Bob Geldof , I still think he was a hero doing Live Aid and Thin Lizzy bwould have been a great addition. I missed all Live Aid at the time as I was working punishing hours. I saw bits after but saw the whole show at an eighties weekend at Bognor Regis Butlins were I saw Human League headlining with Howard Jones, The Christians, Blamange, , China Crisis to name just a few performing. It took me nine hours there and nine hours back on the coach but boy was it worth it!! Thanks for the info Mark😁🏴🎧🎼🎸👍🏴🌟
I saw lizzy live 2 or 3 times god times were good back in the day. when a pub was a pub and the music was loud so happy that my years go that far back and I'm still here with all the magic memories. No doubt some anal woke will try to sanitiz this like everything else that's fun in life . At least I can say I've actually had a life . Long live the memories 😎
