The GBHE photo at 6:20 is fantastic. I had the sigma in my cart and your helpful review sold me. Thanks! 😊
Thank you! That’s awesome, how are you finding it so far? 😊
Straight forward video, enough detail, definately swaying me round to getting one. Thanks

@@beckybokeh Just ordered one...Yayy

Good vid, good review with great images
Thank you glad you liked the review 😄
My mom bought one kislux and she loves it. It had been there for over 10 years when she went out with it.
Thank you. Great review.
Glad it was helpful!
@@beckybokeh you're welcome!
I love my Sigma 150-600mm contemporary. I'm a Nikon user and even though i mainly use a 500mm f4....the Sigma still gets used as it's extremely versatile. Like yourself, it was my first 'proper ' wildlife lens and I'd never part with it.
Me too I will probably never sell it ! :)
Very helpful Thankyou from India
Glad it was helpful!
Nice and informative presentation.
Thank you! :)
Nice review ... Perfecto ☘
Thank you very much 😊
Hi! Just watched your video and had to subscribe - you take beautiful photos and videos :) I bought a Lumix S5II a couple of months ago to dive back into my hobby photography and currently have my kit lens which is 20-60mm (full frame). I love to take photos in dawn and moody scenes as well as macro (e.g. little mushrooms, leaves in the rain etc) and am considering this lens (or the 60-600mm version) so that I have more flexibility.
I have a feeling that I might take more photos when I can zoom in more, as I love to capture the stars, the moon, birds a distance away etc.
Do you have any tips for how to focus a camera to take star photos? I tried the method with lighting a torch to focus, then move the camera to capture the stars before the focus is off again but they turn out blurry every time... I did 2 years of photography with a Canon 1100D in high school a few years ago so slowly getting back into it. Any thoughts or tips welcome! Thanks :)
I have the same setup and the biggest limitation is not enough reach at my local river which can be solved with a 1.4 converter once I pay up for it many times the subjects are over 300m away.
I have heard of that converter but have not personally felt that I needed it yet! Maybe be worth looking into in the future. It would be great to get closer to small birds
Me use Sigma mirror 600mm F8. I love it. New Lens 😍 from 80'
Good choice!
I have considered buying a 150-600mm, either a Sigma or Tamron. One thing that scares me is the possibility of getting one that has front or back focus problems and then having to buy the lens dock to correct it. Perhaps I am overthinking it too much.
I enjoyed your video and seeing the results of the Sigma lens. Cheers!
If you have a camera with focus adjustment, then that problem is solved, but I did not have to correct my Sigma 150-600 C on my Nikon D600 or D750.
Glad you enjoyed the video!
I have used my Sigma lens with my Canon 750D DSLR and not had any issues regarding that so far, bought new from Amazon. Maybe just go for it :)
@@josgeusens4637 so it will work perfectly fine out of the box with Nikon D7500 as well?
@@mlks007 I cannot guarantee you, but I have never heard anyone mention that it had to be corrected, so I guess it will. It works on my Nikon D7200 without any problems too.
Hi, just found your video. You got some really nice shots!
I've just bought a 750d and thought about getting the sigma 150-600c for wildlife photography. However I feel like the camera struggles a bit with low light conditions. Have you taken wildlife shots in low light with high ISO already? Since a lot of wildlife is active at dusk or dawn I fear I'm gonna miss a lot of good shots
Thank you!! :)
I have not used the lens a great deal in low light conditions, if that is something that is important you then possibly look into a lens with a wider aperture maybe a 2.8. But for the price this lens is very good. The more you spend the more you get and especially with telephoto lenses, the more you spend the better it will perform in low light conditions. If your budget is in the £1000 range this is the best value for money when it comes to a wildlife lens :) hope that helps.
@@beckybokeh Thanks for the kind answer, it already helped :)
unfortunately a 2.8 lens would nuke my budget lmao.
When shooting with the 750d, how high do you comfortably set the ISO? Of course as low as possible but what do you think the camera can handle well and at which point does the post processing get difficult with the noise?
Sorry for the late reply!
I personally try and stay under iso 1600, sometimes I will go 3200 or 6400 but that’s when it starts to get quite noisy. Beyond 6400 it is just a grainy mess in Lightroom to me.
And yes I agree a 2.8 telephoto is simply out of my budget at the moment, this was the best in my price range :)
Struggles with sharpness on my 90d. Still trying to resolve that. It shot perfectly on my T7. Thanks for the review.
No problem :)
👍🔥
I noticed with my lens that the focal length lock does not work. It will keep it locked at 150mm with no problem, but when I lock it on any other preset length, it takes very little force to turn the lens and disengage the lock. It's not a deal breaker for me, as I never need to lock the lens at different focal lengths, but it seems like a design flaw. Otherwise, it's my favorite lens in my lineup!
The intermediate locking indeed is not as strong as the 150 mm setting, but to me it it is strong enough for pointing up my lens for astrophotography, where shifting would be a big problem. With other lenses, I generally use duct tape to secure them (because astrophotography requires hundreds of long exposure shots and any deviation would render the shots useless).
this is intentional. so when someone adjusts it forgetting that they locked it.. it doesnt break the lock.
I never really use the lock either to be honest, if it works as intended it is a useful tool !
It’s definitely my favourite lens that I own too :)
great shots. just got mine. here goes nothing!
Thanks you 😊 enjoy !!
Got one for a discounted price of $750, using it for the solar eclipse on April 8👍
That’s a great price ! Enjoy
I am saving for this lens currently I wanted canon 100-400 mark II I first of all did not want the sigma 600mm because I want to match brands with my camera but the realised they are nearly over a grand the super teles from canon I am saving on mpb and saving with my local camera shop that independently owned I can pay my shop in a small amount but he needs a balance to pay off at at the very end mpb I am aiming for the mark at £639 thats at Excellent condition and i am aiming for good condition pending how that is I shoot with an old 135-400 from sigma at the moment from there old apo line I know you said the 600mm is heavy but I have felt it and it feels light like all the reviews say I will be going hand held with this lens I shoot with a APS C camera
I also looked at the canon 100-400 but as you say it is significantly more expensive! The sigma 150-600 is great, you will really love it !
We both use the same set up, the only difference is the camera
Nice!! What camera do you use?
@@beckybokeh 90d
@@derek777 how is canon 90d with the sigma 150-600, i want this exact combo. Im worried only for iso performance.
*PromoSM*
I use this lens with the 5D Mark 3. The T1.4 convertor has been very good but kiss the bokehs good bye 😔
I’ve never used the converter, would you not recommend it?
@@beckybokeh it’s great for reaching out but knock you back to f9 so it’s a trade off
