- Here's a video on how to remove the hard top roof of my Lotus Elise Clib Racer, I also cover how to put on and remove the soft top roof as well, so I think it is pretty much all covered! If you are a Lotus Elise owner... Good Luck, may the force be with you.

This guy gives off a really strong air of being a spoiled brat.
Love the car in any config since your mini-wrap. But if had to choose, in order of preference :
1. Hard top. 2. No top. 3. Soft top
But 2/3 combo is going to be best for you in Monaco - Spring to end Autumn.
TIP: Get yourself a rechargeable torque screwdriver - will reduce hard top changing time to minutes.

+Alvaro Grados It's a Lotus design,it will fill itself up when raining so it will cool the driver down when driving quickly or after the driver had a workout.Don't know how to deal with it in the winter though.

It looks great with the hardtop! And topless, too bad it is so much work to get the hardtop out of the car.
And for that softtop, isn't it possible to attach the front side first and then the back side? Maybe that makes jt easier to attach the roof that way?

I think it LOOKS best with the hard top because of the wrap. I do have to admit that come spring in Monaco, I would definitely go no top (on the car).

Well done in finally getting the roof off. I have a basic rule for when I drive mine - "No Rain, No Roof"..

Anyone else check their phone at 3:45, and again at 3:49? Couldn't the screws have been started with the short end of the Allen wrench (more torque) and then finished up with the long end (more speed)? That's how I like to work socket head screws. Too bad the roof takes so long to put on or off. The Lotus looks great with the top off, but I imagine most drivers are less inclined to take it off if it takes so much time. The cloth top isn't half as flattering to the car as the hard top is. My preference, in order, is topless, hard top, and soft top.

Hard top is the best because the colors and stripes match, but no top is obviously the best overall. It looks cool and makes the car a lot easier to get in.

Seb. Something that will cut your hard top time in have is a drill with the correct Allen wrench fitting! When tightening don't tighten it fully with the drill. Hand tighten it after about half way so you don't strip the screws!!

Hard top is the best!
As far as customisation goes, I would get someone to do the same strip/carbon style on the soft top too. Some kind of red fabric + carbon leather-kinda material.. Would be awesome ;)

Much easier to put the soft top back on if you just rolled it from one side to take it off, great car the Elise, great gas mileage too for a car this fast.

next time cut part of the allen key and put it in the drill as if it was a drill bit, then you can do it uqick

I can't believe it took you 30 minutes to remove those few screws (bolts).
I can take it off and put it back on in under 15 minutes.
He usually just has his parents hire someone to do it for him.
