I got the 1050 Ti G1 gaming version, running it in overclock mode & it's quiet as a mouse even when pushed on a hot day. Very happy with this upgrade from my old gtx 660

I have the Ti version card in this video and I love it. Paired with a I5-2400(gonna upgrade soon) and 8 gigz DDR3 and I have no problem playing every game I play with high/ultra at above 50 fps
Paul Sarver this is my exact same setup, I have the evga ssc version of the 1050ti and the setup works very well for modern titles

i third this recommendation.
No point. Get the 6gb version or you'll be full of regrets. Remember it also has more cuda cores in addition to double the vram. In some games it may only be a 5-10fps increase but in other more resource hungry games the 6gb pulls away. Nowadays 3gb should be considered the bare minimum for vram and many games want more if you plan on running higher settings.

thanx 4 video, you helped me decide what model to purchase. i have HP compaq elite 8200 pro sff pc with i5-2400 & 8 gb ram using stock 240 psu. @ the time of purchase, only msi had gtx 1050 ti 4gb low profile gpu. now gigabyte also sale low profile cards for both models. great card & very quiet. ty

This is very informative! My current pc is a literal potato and because I'm looking to upgrade to something that can at least run most games I was looking at a computer that has an intel core i5-7400 with a gtx 1050 and 12gb of ram, so i searched for a video to see it how this gpu and cpu would perform in games because i don't know that much computer specs, but the video i was looking at was for the Ti version and i needed to know the difference, which brought me here.
The difference seems pretty significant but I'm used to playing most games on the lowest graphics settings possible anyway, so any upgrade where i can run games smoothly at 60fps (or in some cases just run games period) is a good one.

Would the 1050ti work well in VR?
The GTX 1060 is considered the ideal entry point for VR. That said, I have tried some VR with the GTX1050ti (The laptop version no less) and it's... okay. Not ideal, but moderately serviceable if you need to
Blunty excuse me, but if I may, at the current retail price of Rifts and Vives, I don't see how one could afford one and not be able to afford a better gpu... I'd rather get a 1070 and then save up for a while to get the VR headset...

as a 1050ti user (ryzen 5 3600 cpu) i can tell you that the 1050ti is ideal to get into VR. Bundle that with any of the WMR headsets (i got a lenovo explorer) and you got a great budget vr setup. Beatsaber runs smooth far over 60 fps, The Lab runs at almost (~55 most of the time) 60 fps, even No Mans Sky on high preset is running at ~40 fps. Stock clocks except 55% fan.

Any chance of reviewing the 1060 3GB vs 6GB or the 1050ti vs the 1060 3 or 6GB ?
After playing Forza Horizon 3 on Ultra I can't go back to medium settings even though I would get smooth 60fps. Even tried it at 4K and it's just stunning. It looks so much more realistic at 4K when all the little details start showing.

I've got me that same Windforce OC, but its a 1060 6 GB instead. :D
That being said, I'm unfortunately hampered down by having just a mere i5-3330, as I can't afford a better motherboard or CPU at the moment. Real shame, because I'd love to really get the most out of Horizon 3, but can't. :(

Gigabyte cards are really quiet... I have the Gigabyte G1 GTX 1080 and I hardly ever hear it.

OOOpps i bought my 1050 ti before consulting benchmarks looking at the specs alone. i'm upgrading from a R7770 which has been my goto card for the last 4 years & the only reason i'm upgrading was the lack of V Ram at 1gb. PC gaming dosn't have to cost a fortune to get good results.
