Am old enough to remember bubble cars in the 60s with no reverse gear. Watching my teach having to pull it backwards to park. There was also the old blue 'invalid carriages'.
40??? Congrats. I always thought you were 50/55+ 🤣 Thanks for showing us arouund. Most cars I knew already from other channels. Since I'm converting myself I'm more interested in talks about detailled solutions within the converting process...
The biggest issue is still the amount batteries (and materials needed for it) that need to be made and the woeful inadequate charging network we need...for which we also still need way more copper than we have even delved on average. I really like EV's for most of the drives people do. But I still don't see it happening in the pace people are thinking it will. Just in copper wire for charging network alone we need like 2x of the yearly production.....those are not numbers that are realistic.
Where are they going to dispose the batteries once they die? I’d say a high percentage of ev’s are still charged off fossil fuel. Electric vehicles aren’t the answer
Battery recycling and repurposing is a quickly growing industry, Fully Charged has videos on battery recycling if you’re curious. The great thing about EVs is that they get cleaner as the grid gets cleaner. Fossil fuel emissions don’t just start at the tailpipe. What people don’t take into account about petrol is the production emissions/environmental impacts as well as the massive transport involved in distribution.
EV batteries are more than 95% recylable. EV are far more recyclable than petrol car. Where are they going to dispose the motor of petrol engine cars once they die (a loot sooner than ev batteries and motors) ?
I was watching an interesting video the other day where someone used an old Nissan leaf battery as a domestic storage battery. It had degraded so was no use for a car, but still had plenty of capacity to use as a solar domestic battery. Actually tempted to look into this myself.
I get we are in a transition phase , but just read about Sodium-ion batteries that are a relatively new Battery Technologies in 2023 that uses sodium ions instead of lithium ions to store and convert energy. They offer a low cost, high safety, and a long cycle life. Should be much more sustainable to source and make.
I think calling the bubble car a new concept is a little bit of a lie, as it is an electric copy paste of the Heinkel Kabine from the 50s So isn't it more of a reinvention than something new ?
lol VW buzz Relatively affordable lol love the joke. If that's affordable I have a few Bridges I'd like to sell you. It'll be so much better when economies of scale push down EV prices to reasonable levels. I have a Megane EV and even that was a bit much really but I just didn't like all the issues the cheaper MG4 was/is having.
Im sorry but men that are 6 feet tall and a little more mass will not want to buy one of them micro cars.. its no good for posture or the way your needs are up .. haha
Ken who makes the best 2cv chassis is based in Selby and makes a chassis for a Dutch converter that’ll take Tesla (I believe) batteries between the chassis rails
Car batteries often have a second life in industry where there are used as storage, often big banks in shipping containers. EV batteries are also recycled, it’s much cheaper than mining new material. Not many batteries are available for recycling though. They are performing better than forecast.

Always great watching Louis and Steve together again.
Louis I agree with you that VW should make a more retro looking electric van. I would for sure buy one if they did.
@ERROR-bk1gz It can’t happen with safety standards and how the platforms exist to make a profit
Louis is an addict of cars with no road safety 🙂
Regarding camping with the VW Buzz. This is the short wheel base. There will be a long wheels base in the future which is probably better suited.
Love to see Louis and Steve together in a vlog! Feels like the old days of daily vlogging
Wow, this Fully Charged Fair has become huge 😳😌👍!

Woohoo! Part 2, so excited!
Louis I see 2.5M subscribers on the horizon. Great channel
Nice colab Louis. Very interesting.
🎶HAPPY 40/10 Louis and Neo! 🥳🎁⚙️📿💗
33 inch ox cart axle defined the roads in Europe, from what I’ve read.
Omg its Steve on the vlog
Hi Louis, when are we going to see if your Van got fixed after your trip across America? Love the channel.
louis and steve just like the old days

A lot of great information for those of us in the market for an EV. I really like the Citroen. But so many others to choose from..................>
Do you have recommendations on where I can sell my 1957 metro Nash? I hear they are very popular over there !
£15000 for a Microlino bubble car...& I wouldn't like to be in a front end accident in that car..
Its a tiny things isnt it but I like that, kind of reminds me of a peel p50, that I saw years ago on Top Gear.
I agree about the new VW van..isimilar to the modern beetle.. it has a sense of the old beetle, but no.. it's not like the old beetle.
this year xmas drive again? with upgraded veh?
I like the older VW built way better can run forever, new VW is kinda iffy
Interesting fact. The bubble car was used to smuggle people from east Berlin to the west, during the cold war. I can't recall the name of the driver.
Love this one bro
Barnaby was on below deck and at the end of season said he was starting a business in Electric cars. Mad he is so close
I love car expo ! 😍💖

Err "Fully Charged" is created by the tv-robot turned UA-camr Robert Llewellyn, if you like EVs and related stuff it's worth checking out
nice love your family.
Electric vechicles only practicle in city areas here in Australia. This vast landscape here only suitable for diesel or petrol vechicles really.
What about converted hybrids? EV power whenever you want it and long range when you need it!
Are the majority of people crossing the vast landscape daily or are they doing local commutes?
Amazing!!
Everyone wants an original VanGo. 😆
It's a 200 mile range really not what it should be.
I'm surprised this channel is still around....
iD Buzz = £50-60k
This guy absolutely looks like a guy who’s parents had a 2CV 😅
If you Already here then you are reading this comment thank you
Food for Louis is better then this new channel 😑

Once you get an EV you start thinking about solar panels for home. Plus the UK grid is relatively green already and getting greener every day.

I'm loving watching this journey!! I really want to go to events like this!!
Great video friend.

I cannot wait to see how this turns out!

Loving the Munro apart from the lack of a face. Great value for money.
My husband and I both drive electric vehicles… working on solar panels for the house!
The guy that talked about Oslo doesn’t know what the f he’s talking about😭
What happened to your electric camper van you got so close before you broke down for the final time
VW ID is a complete joke and will never be a camper van - makes so much more sense to convert a tesla cybertruck!
Im sorry but men that are 6 feet tall and a little more mass will not want to buy one of them micro cars.. its no good for posture or the way your needs are up .. haha
Why not get something like a Vito and convert it into a campervan or look at what ame did in just a standard transit van
Ken who makes the best 2cv chassis is based in Selby and makes a chassis for a Dutch converter that’ll take Tesla (I believe) batteries between the chassis rails
Happy Birthday 🎉
That thing @12:50 is just a clone of the BMW isetta, that didn’t really work back in the sixties either due to the obvious lack of space.
So fun. ❤
What do they do with all of the old lithium batteries? How do they dispose of them do you know?
Car batteries often have a second life in industry where there are used as storage, often big banks in shipping containers. EV batteries are also recycled, it’s much cheaper than mining new material. Not many batteries are available for recycling though. They are performing better than forecast.
Who cares of your opinion, really ?
I like the designs but you seem to want to convert ALL of the most unsafe vehicles to electric!🤔
