    I have a 4 HomePod speaker setup. 2 HomePod 2’s paired in living room and then paired 2 HomePod minis and labeled them “Living Room Rear”. And when you tap the power button on the remote once a menu appears that will let you select audio menu. From there I checkmark both pairs of HomePods (2 and minis) Andjust the core volume I want them to be separate from each other then back out of that menu. TIP - set the minis volume a little higher to better match the larger HomePods. From there the regular volume control adjusts like normal for both sets. Then boom I have 4 speakers booming Apple Music in my living room space. Be sure to reverse the left and right rear speakers though to match the front speakers so the left and right audio matches. Of course, this isn’t true surround sound from Apple, but it is the best option to fill a room with music or movie audio until Apple gives us an update to allow 4 speakers for a real surround sound experience. One more thing to note is when you select to add on the rear speakers it is just temporary until you turn off the Apple TV after you turn off the TV and turn it back on you will have to re-select the additional speakers again. Not a big deal though, as it’s pretty easy to do, and only takes secaonds.

    just so you know, there’s no native spotify integration because Spotify does not want to. Apple allows third party services since 2020 and may have jumped into since then, but spotify still refuses to and you can’t see that on their community where they respond to users’ petitions with a “not right now” state. Also they refuse to add AirPlay 2 to their iOS app (protocol launched in 2018) which will eliminate the 2-second delay when AirPlaying from Spotify, and also the occasional dropouts and excessive battery draining

    Nice video guys, thx. I will be looking forward to your comparison between the beam g2 and a stereo pair of these. I’m all in on  and have a beam g2, but coming from a homepod g1 , I prefer the homepod sound profile over the beam. The beam lacks base and I need to make a call between adding a sub mini or just getting the homepod g2 pair instead. Please test the homepods with apple tv for movies and atmos - would be awesome to see how it fares.

      I'm in the exact opposite situation, and it's also interesting to compare it to Sonos Beam. I have a stereo pair of first homeopods and I like the bass, but I don't like the sound in general because of the exaggerated treble. I wanted to swap them out for Beam, but I don't know if it's worth it. I usually use the stereo pretty good, and the homeopod for background in the kitchen or watching netflix. Few people see the difference similarly, but the regular stereo for half the price plays better, more correct sound. AI EQ changes the sound beyond recognition if it's not really simple music

    Saw a review by someone else comparing dual HomePod 2’s vs a Beam 2 and they said the sound stage and bass was better on the HomePods. That’s cool but 1) I dislike the busy 2 speaker look vs a single soundbar and 2) it’s pretty much just optimized for the Apple ecosystem. All said and done, I’m more interested in the Sonos Era 300 (hopefully coming out in the next couple of months), as it’s supposed to compete with the HomePod 2 and surpass it.

      It does have Bluetooth but only for set-up etc. It does not let you use it for music playback or any other type of device connection. Hope this helps.

    After the advent of ChatGPT, I think these speakers are about to gain a lot of value. Especially if they effectively use modern AI conversation.

    The estimated sales for the first homepod was 1-3 million units, is that a flop? 5 years ago the smart home market wasn't as established as now. I think some perspective is needed. Think of the value of that one product, imagine you're a cafe and you sell 1 million coffees at £3 remember these were £300+. Good video all the same.

    I think the Homepod2 has its place within the Apple ecosystem but it won’t be entering into my Sonos Home cinema setup.
    Also when Sonos release some hopefully 360 Dolby Atmos surround speakers Apple Homepod just won’t see the light of day 😂
    I think the HomePod would make a great stereo pair in a bedroom.. but I just can’t see Apple compete with Sonos in a Home Theatre setup. Apple need a Soundbar to try and compete.

    One of the only honest Homepod reviews on UA-cam, its sad that most Homepod reviews on UA-cam are apple shills trying to get more free products for future reviews, its so hard to find a channel actually giving an honest Homepod review and not just ads saying how great it is.

    what people don't get it is that Apple Makes the HomePod for APPLE users that want great sound and that works well in the Apple Ecosystem, with Apple Music. they don't make this speaker to work with everything like Google and Amazon smart speakers. so if you in the Apple Ecosystem "yes it is a great buy, if not buy something else, thats all.

    • @idionisio
      @idionisio Рік тому

      Exactly. Why people make that it’s not a negative aspect on the product. It’s a speaker for apple users period. Not anything else. Review it for what it is. Not what you want it to be is all.

    This is just apple’s second try to sell the same poorly designed and priced product. The only thing they should’ve done was a drastic price reduction on the original home pod.

    • @somebodysomeone23
      @somebodysomeone23 Рік тому

      @Phillip Banes functionality-wise there isn’t much over the mini version and similarly priced competitors have better feature sets, and sound-wise - if one is looking for sound there are much better options at slightly higher prices. As I mentioned in the comment, reduced price for on the original version was what they needed to do for it to pop, but they are too stubborn or too afraid to create a precedent where the exact same product is basically re-introduced at a lower price.

    • @Celisar1
      @Celisar1 Рік тому

      @@somebodysomeone23 I would like to ask the same question as the previous commentator. if you think you can get a better package sound-wise and as a smart speaker in combination, then please let us know which one you feel is superior.

    • @somebodysomeone23
      @somebodysomeone23 Рік тому

      @@Celisar1 sure. If you’re looking for a good price. Sonos one has better sound and works well with Apple devices. If you want a single speaker with killer sound then denon home is good, if you want more style - b&w zeppelin. If you need 2 speakers and can accept some visual trade offs svs prime wireless speakers are lovey. Kanto tuk will have a nice style and amazing sound. And if you want to go all out within a reasonable price range kef lsx/ii are an absolute powerhouse.
      I auditioned both homepods and their sound dispersion and sound quality never appealed to me. I wanted a number of smart speakers to place around the house in addition to my main sound system (speakers in ceilings in most rooms) for very easy use. I ended up getting a bunch of homepod minis and a couple sets of Kef lex ii’s
