    Orange is the new black, Dexter, Breaking Bad, Sopranos, Sons of Anarchy, Yellowstone, Game of Thrones. None of these are bad shows necessarily but there seems to be an active push to show villains in sympathetic light and also show more violence on TV. It seems to be reflected in many cities across the US. More sympathy for criminals and less for victims. I miss having heroes to look up to and wholesome shows.

      @huntercoxpersonal 2 місяці тому +5

      Just because the protagonist is a villian doesnt mean there arent heroes in the story.. it’s actually more effective to show what happens when you “break bad” (Breaking Bad) or “follow tradition” (Sopranos) without thinking critically or having morals/ethics..

      The only difference is that it transitioned from movies to TV series. This was facilitated by subscription based TV allowing for R rated TV series to be available. Those types of characters have existed for such a long time. (Maybe not Dexter)
      Scarface, The Godfather trilogy, Goodfellas, Taxi Driver, Dog Day Afternoon, Pulp Fiction, Heat, Schindler's List, Natural Born Killers...
      And so many more that I can't remember off the top of my head.

    It’s so sad for me that my kids can’t grow up with fresh music. Grateful I grew up hearing Motown and oldies from my parents, and found my musical autonomy when bands still created music. Not sure when I’ll ever let my kids watch UA-cam because the music videos are all so dirty. It’s crazy what is now allowed to be aired. Stopped watching award shows after being blindsided by Miley and her guitar grinding.

    I take issue with the fact that no one would tell Cardi B that "WAP" is pronounced like the word MAP and not like MOP, she pronounces the word as WOP which aside from being wrong is also a derogatory term for Italians. Why would no one correct Cardi B? Why has no one corrected Cardi B yet? Why are we all pretending vowel sounds have changed for this one song?

    Destiny literally doesn’t have standards, beliefs, or anything he holds himself to. Debates are competitions and he wants to win. Tom McDonald and Tim Pool have talked a bit about the topic of the Music Industry 'Gate Keeping' to only ALLOW Bands/Artists that PUSH whatever the Music Industries AGENDA wants. McDonald and Pool have hits that would have been ranked #1 in the Music Charts, but because of the Music Industry being CORRUPT, they do everything they can to keep Independent Artists out. Also look at the Artists like Avril Lavigne who were HUGE when they pushed the Music Industries 'Agenda', yet when they went against the Music Industries 'Agenda' all of the sudden they get their music Throttled (same vocals, same musical accompaniment, but different Message - look towards God instead of the Devil) because the Music Industry told Radio Stations NOT to play their Music.

    In my opinion, the problem isn't that smut exists. It's only a problem when it's promoted in the mainstream. That's what's going on today that's different from when i was a teenager.
    I grew up listening to 2 Live Crew and Eazy-E. We thought it was hilarious. Back then the industry was trying to censor both, and the police were trying to put 2 Live Crew in jail. There's always going to be a deviant element of society and culture. When the deviance gets promoted in the mainstream it becomes the status quo. That's the problem with how it's affecting culture today.

    Can someone explain what makes people black? I'm seeing videos where people say if you have mixed race parents you're not black or white, you're bi racial. But then i look up Shirley Bassey who had a white mother, but she's always referred to as black. I had friends at school I thought were black but their mom was white. I'm really confused and I don't wanna be calling people the wrong thing...but I just thought we went on skin color (which is maybe the only time skin color would be something to consider?) or am I wrong and black people might not actually be black people? My head hurts

    • @fuhqsideways
      @fuhqsideways 21 день тому

      I feel like it's the pro noun thing....I don't know what people want to be called! I know we're all human but like the gender thing...we go by what we see...don't we? Do I have to check with every black person if they're black so I don't offend them?! And maybe even white people too? Cause mixed race couples can have white children...can't they? So confused

    • @fuhqsideways
      @fuhqsideways 21 день тому

      And I've heard about the old "one drop rule" where a mixed race couple (or the people around them) would always call their child black for racist reasons....which makes me think I shouldn't have thought of my friends as black...even though they had dark skin...but they referred to themselves as black!

    No it's true. Look at the quality of music from 1950-2000 and then look at the quality of music form 2000 until now and tell me they didn't purposely decide to make all new original music defined as "Indy" and total crap as "pop". There is a ton of talent out there but they choose these clowns over 100 creative geniuses that nobody will ever know about.

    Music isn't art for one thing.
    Before you respond think, was Mozart an artist?
    He didn't because he wss a composer of music .
    He would have told you that Rembrandt was an Artist not himself.
    Art is ONE person's idea that is his alone and it is his representation of that idea.
    Art is not a collaborative process.
    So if Mozart wasn't an artist then music isn't an art form.
    The word art has been Hijacked by people trying to elevate what they do in order to stroke their ego.
    Acting being the perfect example of this.

    "She get the most views or she has a fanbase" I'm sorry but she got the views and the fanbase because she was promoted, she didn't have it ahead of that. And let's be serious, would you want your child seeing or hearing that? Really? But teens are going to want to watch it, want to hear it, BECAUSE they know it wouldn't be allowed. So the promotion of it is really irresponsible, but more importantly it sends a message, whether intentional or not, "This is who we are".
