It's also about managing the back end of the roster. Jerry just isn't the right guy for the job and the Cowboys probably won't get back to the Super Bowl until he hires professionals for personnel management or he flat lines.
This was done in 2006, the Dallas Cowboys have yet to reach the NFC Championship since the 1995 season. This year, they were absolutely ass blasted by the Green Bay Packers by a quarterback whom was starting his first season at the helm replacing Aaron Rodgers. Johnson did draft Zach Thomas (5x All Pro, 7 Pro Bowls), Sam Madison (4x AP, 4 Pro Bowls) and Patrick Surtain (2x AP, 3 Pro Bowls), not to mention NFL Hall of Famer Jason Taylor, so he definitely vastly outdid Jerry the GM during that time frame (decent picks like Dexter Coakley, Greg Ellis and Flozell Adams). 15+ years have gone by since this video was made, and the Cowboys have been pretty average with hardly any postseason success along the way. Agreed that most of the onus is on Jerry Jones, so I will continue to blame him.

In the end as a Cowboy fan, Jerry and Jimmy just couldn't share the spotlight. If Jimmy had been on that 94 team I know for thing that the Cowboys don't go down 21 points after 3 possession. Still the Cowboys just drafted horribly where Jimmy was great at finding talent in the draft to replace aging players. Jimmy Smith would go onto the Jags and Ron Stone would go to the Giants and play in a Super Bowl against the Ravens. Without Jimmy, Dallas couldn't keep up. Then the injuries as in 96 Jay Novacek retired because of his back and Charles Haley had to semi retire because of his back. With Novacek there wasn't any tight end that could keep up with the stats until Jason Witten came along in 2003. If the Cowboys had kept up then they get a home divisional game against the Panthers most likely instead of going there.
When Jerry Jones was not content to let the football guys run the team and stuck his nose in, it all went to shambles. He hired coach after coach, all incapable of doing the job, especially when they were just doing what Jerry told them to do. (Barry Switzer didn't seem to be all there mentally.) Even the legendary Bill Parcels could not help the team when saddled with Jerry's ego and his incessant interference. Jerry being the owner is like having a thoroughbred horse in a race pulling a loaded wagon. It is too big an obstacle to be able to win. After Jimmy Johnson left, I just started to drift away from being a Cowboys/football fan. Now I don't ever watch or keep up with the game. We as fans should have boycotted Jerry Jones at some point.
