Thank you, Maaike. Your reviews are always so thoughtful and thorough. My favorite "high end" (technically "indie" but expensive) is the Ensley Reign Cool Nude.
I disagree. Just because something is expensive doesn't make it high end or luxury . It's also brand aesthetics, availability and manufacturing that into it for me. That's why indie brands could never fall into this category.
@@FloatinginDreams i didn't say that just because an indie brand is expensive it's high end. The performance, quality and overall end results are what make any eyeshadow "high end". Look at Cosmic Brushes. Many top influencers recognize their palettes as their favorites. I've been doing makeup for over 40 years. The increase in quality is exponential. "High end" to many simply means high performing.
And they are manufactured in China. While the quality is certainly good and high qualty, within makeup high end/ luxury has been a defined category for decades. Brands that aren't sold in brick & mortar stores could bever be high end as they can skirt regulations and therefore don't have to meet standards set by legislation. Once those indie brands start selling at counters in the EU I might consider them high end. But till that point they will remain indie which has a very different rule set to play by. Again not saying indie brands aren't high quality, because they are. But indie brands nowadays can be started by anyone who can put the money up for buying a formula. Therefore their product ranges are limited (it's always shadow, liquid lipstick and brushes) and they often don't expand beyond that. Most of them don't ever do complexion products and that's because they lack the capital or development team to create formulas and shade ranges. It's a different target market and that's okay. Both have merit and a place in the makeup industry, but they cater to different audiences and needs.
Hi Maaike I really love the Dior silver essentials very much, but I also really like the cool neutrals version. It’s a great formula for mature lids as it’s lightweight on the eyes and therefore looks less crepey than most other brands. I also really like Viseart for the same reason and the cashmerie is still a favourite. I think I’m done with ND as although I really enjoy the mattes and some of the shimmers, it has a lot of sparkly shades that fall down my face despite glitter glue. Glitter glue also makes shadows heavier and show’s texture on the lids more (at 52 I have loose skin and texture on the lids😢). I just haven’t been as excited about eyeshadow palettes of late and am happy using what I have. If a colour story appears on the market that I just love the look of then I will buy it, but that hasn’t happened in a while. Best wishes x
Love these picks! I love my LE palettes in Vega and Muse. I considered getting Myth from the clearance sale but I have Sydney Grace singles in those colors! A favorite palette is also SG’s Enduring Love.
Hello Maika. Sorry if I misspelled your name. Love the content of your channel.🌹I would love to see this series with drugstore makeup too. Love from Athens Greece❤
Do you think the Ethereal Make Up by Mario is the same than as Natsha Denona I Need a Nude palette in terms of shimmers? Mattes? Or what is the diference between them each one besides the tones? Greetings from Mexico ❤
The color stories are mainly similar. ND has more variation in textures. Mario has an easier to work with formula with shimmers tjatbare best for layering. So depending on whay you like either one could be good but you don't need both.

I don't count most indie brands as luxury or high end no matter the price point for some reason. I feel indie truly is it's own category.
@@FloatinginDreams that is technically true, but the prices they charge (some of them) i guess, make them "high end indie"🤔

Palettes are currently not very much on trend. It's blush that is king this year for sure.
Viseart will always be luxurious to me. There's something about the brand that makes me feel chique when I use it 🥰
Yeah right?! I am glad I am not the only one.
I love them. So smoothing and flattering on my 58 yo eyeballs.
Thank you! Love your eyeshadow look today
Oh thank you!

Sydney Grace is an indie brand though, they aren't luxury or high end.
@@FloatinginDreams I guess I was going by quality!
I wish I liked basic eyeshadows because Lisa Eldridge and Victoria Beckham look so nice!

Yes I will certainly do another drugstore themed week in the fall time. But I just did one last month!
Looking forward to august 😍

Don’t torment me with that Dior Silver Essentials. The one time I waited and then poof it was gone,🤦♀️
Sorry!
