  • 3 MUST DO'S TO RIP FAIRWAY WOODS - SIMPLE GOLF TIPS
    Want to stop duffing and topping your fairway woods? In this golf lesson Matt Fryer Golf takes you through 3 key points you need to make sure you do when you are out on the golf course and using your fairway wood.
    Lots of poor shots come from poor fundamentals with the fairway wood and also the intention when hitting a fairway wood. Follow the steps in this golf lesson and you will see improvement from your fairway woods.
    If you watch professionals with a fairway wood like, Rory Mcilroy, Tiger Woods and even going back to players like Gary Player, they do very simple and repeatable things, that you can do as well.
    Enjoy the lesson and start RIPPING your fairway woods!

    Great tips! Thankfully I'm fairly decent fairway wood player but I did find that a change from TM fairways to a Cobra F8 with the rails did improve my consistency as well! Looking forward to the next video!👍👍

    Matt. You nailed this tutorial. This is exactly what I do. Just inside the left instep and I sweep grazing the ground ever so slightly. When I get this right my Ping Woods hit the ball a very long ways. This can be practiced without even using a ball. I do it in my backyard all the time. I pick the spot where the ball would be and put a tee very deep in the ground. Then I sweep over it disturbing the ground ever so slightly. It has worked wonders. Spider Dubiel

    You do a great job teaching us about woods and hybrids in different types of grass lengths, but what about if you live in a dryer climate where there is more dirt and rocks right off of the fairway? What clubs should we be looking at then?

    Great advice. I am guilty of moving the ball back in my stance when I notice a top or two. Going to try and stay committed to the shot.

    No I agree there Matt if the ball is not sitting up in the rough I would use a 8/9 iron get it out there and back in play. The amount of ppl I see trying to use a 3 wood in the rough low down is unreal.
    Good video Matt I'm sure ppl will benefit from this.

      I use a Ping G 410 # 5 Wood a good deal of the time. I place it exactly as Matt does here. It works great. I practice in the backyard all the time. I put a tee deep in the ground where the ball would be and sweep over the ground taking just a little dirt perhaps. This practice works wonders for me. I actually carry a complete set of woods and it works well on everyone of them.

    I'll go out and practice swinging my clubs at my house all the time. I'll use a tee as a marker to where my ball would be. And I just swing my club about 15-20 times. I can't go golfing a lot. Not enough $$$. But, I would love to go more.

    Any of these golfer UA-camrs who can just casually top the ball on command and then turn around and hit a perfect shot, I’m definitely all ears with lol. I couldn’t stop topping the ball if I had the golf club gun 😂

      Yeah then the curse of the real shot comes in... Less pressure on a practice swing, not as tense, try stay loose on actual shot, easier said than done i know

    I like your videos but one thing that really sets you below big rick shields and other top pro teachers is they identify the problem (like you do) but they show you have to fix the problem the golfer is making. Like as an example, a golfer whos leaning back, its okay telling them not to lean back but if they've done that for a long time then it becomes natural...how about showing techniques and drills to help the golfer STOP leaning back? instead of saying dont do that. It will allow the golfer to move forward one step at a time and gain confidence whilst doing so. hope the feedback helps👍

    I was excited for a second when I thought this video was called "3 Must Do's to R.I.P. (Rest In Peace) Fairway Woods." Damn. Instead of burying the things in the backyard, I ended up watching someone hit it impossibly sweet. Sigh....

  • @robbiegreen769
    @robbiegreen769 4 роки тому

    That's all and well if your hitting your 3/5 wood off a flat surface but 90% of us aren't ,we are hitting the ball on a up/down,away toward us slopes. As an avid golfer this is virtually no help unless we are as good as you and off a perfect lye, but thanks anyway. ⛳
