best show/experience with live band ever and I am old (54). It was jazzfest in NO at the hard rock. my friend and i with 2 others were stagefront for the 230 show 2011. Karl was with us from the jump.. engaged with us about his art and horn, and his eyes never left mine when he and I were truly groovin- and it kept that special groove for about 2hours- we were feeling his love and rythm in a way that we loved and responded to so strong- he gave it back so beautiful as well. I looked into those eyes close when he was blowing strength and power in horn, that I felt it flow thru me so I could not look away- his breath thru his power horn went into my soul_ into my soul!! he continued to look str thru me and at me while i grooved with him in a connection i have never felt previous or since with an artist- most special music moment conn i've ever been gifted. his eyes and those moments with his love for music and me i knew will never leave me. I hope i get the chance to see him again and tell him how strong that was for me and Jay and Jen and Holly. No Shit- Best musical/ show/ artist experience ever- was emotional Kar! thank you Karl, so much love and respect for you and your humanity, you changed my life about music that night.
I know, right?!?! They are superb! Karl has also played with the Stones - and yet, like Chuck Leavall {who played Stones and Allmans} - both are much lesser known than they should be. Been a fan of KDTU since 1999 when they played through a torrential downpour at Wilmer's Park Music Fest and we all danced in the muddy stage front area. Great memories!
What a fantastic set. Would love to see Tiny Universe live. Saw Karl Denson's trio like 10 years ago and loved it. So... come visit Japan, preferably in Nagoya.
+Chromatophone Productions I have heard this covered many times! Like these with Roosevelt Collier,Oteil Burbridge, Jeff Sipe and with Brandon Niederauer @ Bear Creek! Check it! ua-cam.com/video/K2AZgWUCjT4/v-deo.html Track #4 ua-cam.com/video/t_RCe1HtIqI/v-deo.html
+Barry2theB Right. Sounds and Video don't always go together as they should. Thank you though for all your efforts! It's nice to see Chris Mule adding some Honey Island slide to the mix.
+Barry2theB Oh, snap ... I just tried a different pair of headphones and the sound is much better. Now I'm sad to report that my 7yr old Sennheiser headphones need replacing. ;)
