    You said makeup is your "thing" but I hope you could make more hair tutorials since it's hard to find ballroom self made hair tutorials on youtube and you made it look so simple yet so beautiful and professional.

    What a great idea to attach the net to the hair before putting the bun into it. I always find it tricky to get the net over my hair so I shall try this. Thank you

    (as a former dancer with damaged hair) GIRLS PLEASE, make sure that you use gels and sprays that do not have any alcohol in them, and use grippy hair elastics rather than rubber bands, its far less damaging. One tip is to always do a deep conditioning or smoothing treatment beforehand, so you hair is already quite smooth and frizz-free to begin with. Trust me, I have curly, frizzy damaged hair, and sometimes literal aloe-vera gel does the job. You do not need to drench your hair in so much product unless you hair is super heavy or you will be dancing something really fast and rigid. Hope this helps)

    You are very hard on yourself. I am a cosmetologist and my kids ballroom dance. My Mom start competing recently too. Everything they teach you at cosmetology school is wrong for ballroom styles. I have had to learn so many new different things. This tutorial is wonderful! Easy to follow and makes perfect sense. Make up is the same thing, I’m basically just as new as anyone else, Ballroom vs real life hair/make u is so different! You’re doing a great job, keep going. I’m subscribing 👍🏼

    I just tried your gel wave ponytail tutorial and it was amazing! I’m on to this one next, but I have one question. When you use the dryer do you use it on a hot or cold setting? Not sure if it makes much difference but I wanted to know! :)

    • @rickiet.beauty
      @rickiet.beauty  2 роки тому +1

      Hi! I’m so glad you liked my tutorials!! 😊❤️ I just kept my hair dryer on the normal setting. I don’t like it too hot because I feel like it can burn me. If it’s hot air I keep it further from my hair, and if I need to dry something very close to my hair I will switch between cool and hot air ✨ hope this helps!!💖

    Very useful tutorial, thank you! Please advice do you wash your hair before the hairstyling?

    • @rickiet.beauty
      @rickiet.beauty  3 роки тому +2

      I try not to wash my hair the morning that I style it for the competition. When it’s very clean, I find my hair is very slippery and hard to grip with my hands. I usually will wash my hair the day before I compete (at least 24hrs before I need to style it). Unless I’m paying for a hairstyle appointment with professional stylists and they ask me to come with fresh, clean hair, I like it just a little bit dirty for styling 😁✨ I’m glad you found my video helpful! ❤️

    What product do you use to tan yourself for competition?

    • @rickiet.beauty
      @rickiet.beauty  4 роки тому +1

      Niki _nn since I dance only standard now, I don’t like to tan as dark as I used to for Latin. But for Latin I would do 1 layer of Pro Tan (the night before I dance) and then use 1 layer of Starbody or Aery Jo tanner a few hours before I compete in Latin. (The only difference between them is Arey Jo has sparkles in it and Starbody is a matte tanner). Now since I only dance standard, I only do 1 layer of Pro tan the night before my dancing and that’s it! 😁
