Luke. i have bought tis new to go with my new job as a fridge driver class1. my cab has NO bluetooth so i need to set this up for my phone. i have it paired and it gets traffic all ok but how do i get it to answer the phone?
How good is Postcode lookup? I do a lot of rural work where nothing has a number so you get X farm, X Barn, X Cottage etc all in the same postcode, is the PostCode lookup as good as the PostTag app? Thanks
I got the tomtom expert 7", took it for a tester in my car and for some reason it avoided A roads that had no restrictions to take me down country lanes that a long van would struggle to get through. I spent £380 and i am genuanlly feeling disheartened now🤦♂️

Erm.... I think you have one wrong here... My Go Expert 7 does not allow you to use your phone through it.. i.e send messages and answer calls... if it does then i'd like to see that video... i have looked around and it seems that it doesn't at all.
Is there a way to see the junction number on UK motorways ? I can see the junction number on the top left hand screen when using the device however, when stationary and plotting my next trip . The Uk map appears have no junction numbers even when zooming into a junction ie M25, A2, Darenth interchange;zooming in and zooming out of the map no junction number.

Anyone else having issues with charging cable being too loose? I just bought my Tomtom within a couple of months ago. I find that the charging cable is too loose and consistently losing power. Tomtom have been a nightmare to deal with. Anyone with advise regarding issue please advise.
The shittiest tomtom truck navi ever. It directs you in restricted zones,and avoid drivable zones. The 6250 was 4x slower, but 4x better. I am using it in Europe
As a brand ambassador for tom-tom in the UK, I can only talk about my experiences from the UK. I find it mostly takes you down the correct roads. Never has it taken me through a restricted zone. It has on occasion tried to take me down a road which is simply too narrow that he doesn’t know that. Obviously you’ve got to use a bit of wit and common sense alongside it

I just say that the old 6250 performed better for me,and you shpuld not throw it away in the bushes :) Even on roadworks with 7.5t restriction,the 6250 use to avoid that,but the expert drive me straight into it.
How do I bulk add POI'S. I cannot get it connected to a PC to add OV2 files to the map like you could in previous versions. I need to add somewhere in the region of 1000 delivery locations that my friends from work have already stored and shared amongst each other. I cannot face installing them manually! This is a deal breaker for me!

Ok I’ve not been trucking for long however I had a bad experience with this device last week in London the routes it was asking me to do were terrible I’ll be planning my own routes next time. For a start it can not find its way to London gateway services when it does get in to London it wants to go through the houses never wants to stick to primary routes stressed me out tbh. I’m trying to to figure out how to pre plan routes not having much luck

The tomtom will send you on some crazy routes.It will divert you through restricted areas,down unpassable roads,towards bridges that are too low to name just a few of its problems..It may be ok if you have the luxury of driving on motorways for the majority of the day but for rural work its pretty much next to useless at times .It certainly adds to the fun during the day :-)

How do I hide the vehicle info screen ? Before I click drive it shows all the Information about my truck but I already set all this and I'm driving same truck every day
I think it does this as a reminder for safety reasons just in case you for example swap trailers and it's a different height!! It prompts you to remember to change any settings

Absolute rubbish. Wasted hundreds of pounds on something that adds 40 mins to 1 hour onto Manchester-London journeys by routing all round the houses without good reason. I now use Google nav while on the motorway and have co-pilot truck nav app running in tandem and switch to co-pilot when off the motorway. They really need a few local driver moderators to submit unsuitable roads to avoid unless the address is located on that road

If I have my gross weight set over 7.5t it will say I am to heavy for it and will try and reroute me though London, clockwise round. Anywhere except the tunnel. Ideally I don’t want to set my axel as 7.5t as might screw me over elsewhere. :/ for £359 it’s abit poor on their part I have emailed them but I am sure others have also. So god knows. Why In the video he says it’s fine. Unless it’s something that’s happened since.
I will be honest you’re not the first person to say that, but I’ve also got it and my gross weight is 44 tonne and it sends me through absolutely fine 🤷 strange. I don’t want to sound like I’m taking the Mick, but are you sure toll roads are turned on?
It calculates the fastest route normally. I sometimes override it and take the more direct route (I don’t have to stick to motorways for example, I’ll cut across an “A” road)
Is there an alternative that ‘doesn’t’ have to pair with a phone? I thought they all had to have internet access to get ‘live’ traffic updates. Perhaps if the satnav were to be ‘SIM enabled and have a slot for a PAYG SIM card but that would add to the already high cost and one would still have to pay for data. Also, not everyone is bothered about traffic updates. Connecting to ones phone gives everyone the option if required.
these are terrible satnavs. The list of problems is quite long but heres a few of them: 1. the power cable comes loose and falls out. It needs glueing in for a firm connection, but if its come loose, you need a new bracket, which is expensive, then glue it in before it works loose 2. it won't pair with any phone, so you can't get traffic updates. 3. it gets weight limits wrong on lots of roads, and will try to reroute you in all sorts of crazy stupid directions to avoid them. 4. it only has vehicle height in meters, so if yours is in feet and inches, you need to convert it yourself to input the height.
3 of your 4 points are completely wrong. 1:) I’ve never had a loose connection from the power cable . EVER 2) It does pair with phone. You need to the hotspot page open on your phone whilst you connect, once connected you can then lock your phone 3) yes admittedly it does do some silly routes. Not often, this is where you have to use your intelligence and not 100% rely on it. Any half decent driver would plan his/her route before setting off 4) it does do ft and inch’s, you have to change the units settings to Km instead of miles and it’ll go into ft.
How come you can’t get the the time and date on front of the go expert but has the time and date on the 520 £400 quid not really value for money not even the introductions don’t tell you much

For the price of it there's so much they have missed off it. A customized list of vehicles would have been beneficial, I have the 6250 so switching between all the different trailers you need to check height then convert it from ft and inches to meters. They could have made customized presets.
Hi Bert,don't they have ft & in's or mtr's?? do they not do both,so I take it we can we sue tomtom if we hit a bridge in ft,that's meant to be one reason we left the eu,we can still use lb & oz and ft & in's,a LOT of drivers r old school.
@@stum8374 they do but you need to change the whole distances and it messes up the map display and starts telling you distance to exits in different units. When I switched the height to Ft and Inches it changed me distance to Destination to KM
I have always used tomtom sat navs. But after buying the 6250 I will never get another one. It's was the biggest waste of money I've ever spent on a sat nav.
It’s not coming out, it’s been cancelled because of some part shortages. Current models Go Expert and 6 and 7 will stay for a while. So if you need 4g, then buy 6250.

Try using the Tom Tom in south Devon on multidrop in class 2 and you,ll find out how good it isnt !!!!!

Yess. put your destination in then add stops on the route that will appear.

Good job it’s under warrantee mate. Sent it back and get it fixed/replaced. Sounds like a faulty unit. I’ve never had an issue

The user has probably selected no tolls, and thus routed away from Dartford Crossings
Nah it’s a 7.5t weight restriction been playing with mine to see why it’s got a redline as soon as I go below 7.5t it removed the restriction. ::

No it doesn’t it relies on your phone. You also cannot import your own POI files to it. I sent mine back to Amazon.

Hi Bert,don't they have ft & in's or mtr's?? do they not do both,so I take it we can we sue tomtom if we hit a bridge in ft,that's meant to be one reason we left the eu,we can still use lb & oz and ft & in's,a LOT of drivers r old school.
@@stum8374 they do but you need to change the whole distances and it messes up the map display and starts telling you distance to exits in different units. When I switched the height to Ft and Inches it changed me distance to Destination to KM

I have always used tomtom sat navs. But after buying the 6250 I will never get another one. It's was the biggest waste of money I've ever spent on a sat nav.

It’s not coming out, it’s been cancelled because of some part shortages. Current models Go Expert and 6 and 7 will stay for a while. So if you need 4g, then buy 6250.

@@julianj4026 it’s been confirmed on a tomtom official forum a few days ago. That’s why I bought yesterday Go Expert . Don’t want to wait for another year or two before they do another one. With a discount code I paid for Go Expert 6, £280.
