he obviously never met my Roland RS-70. 😀 The keybed is so loud, that in most cases, you don't need a drum track. But it's a fun instrument once you use another keyboard to play it.
GAIA was my first synth which was a lot of fun and a great way to learn and see if the passion was truly there. It was. I finally upgraded to a Novation Summit several months ago and what a beautiful beast it is. Still, I'm not ready to let go of my GAIA yet.
Who said you have to let go of it?! They're both drastically different. You keep it and bust it out for "that one sound." Trust me I've had so much fucking gear I regret selling. Now most of it is so flipping goddamn expensive.... Keep your Gaia! Now that MKII is out Gaia 1 will go up in value plus it isn't like the new one. Totally different. Gaia isn't at all why I'd buy a Roland but that's personal taste. I wouldn't buy anything past 1995 digital or analog. Just my taste.
@@pixelspotmedia9046 To me, Roland has always been a little flat. I started keys in 1977 (yeah I'm old) and my first synth was the Roland Juno 2 in 1984, then "upgraded" to the Kawai K3 in 1985 cause it sounded better to me. A few keys later now I'm stuck on the MODX8 as a standalone unit. However, I'm seriously considering this GAIA 2 now. It looks fun to get crunk and fk around with.🤣
Digital synths are awesome, especially when they aren't trying to be analog ripoffs. Gaia SH-01 was my first synth ever. I loved how approachable and fun it was while not requiring any upkeep the way a traditional analog synth might need. I fully believe that this thing will be a hit for folks looking for a high-quality entry-level synth with plenty of room to grow into.
You are inspiring me soo much. Whenever I watch your videos I have the feeling to go down to my small studio and start creating something new. Thank you very much Doc.
O Wow! The Gaia 2 sounds sublime. Love it's depth. Leaps and bounds from the original. Doc, you play so well... have you considered a You Tube channel? Big Love.
I'm not a musician, so I don't know if that was difficult or not, but at around 6:48 the switching of the hands impressed me a lot. Very cool. That keyboard sounds amazing by the way.
I'm not a keyb player. I think that for a keyboard player that move is quite trivial . Anyway yes, it was cool ! I enjoyed the whole demo ! As a player, Claudio is really amazing He is very talented. skills from another planet Gaia is cool as well
For about the fifth time now you created a little song (at 4:24) that made me so inspired I fired my studio up and was so, so inspired. You should create small inspiration snippets at this point.
Claudio that Gaia 2 is incredible and of course , you are the Keybordist Magician getting the most from it !! I would like to watch a meeting between you and Steve Christie from Vintage Keys Studio !!
In the exact beginning, I think Claudio made a new trance track. He's incredible and I love his unpredictability. Greetings from the European nation that looks like a boot
Nothing wrong with the way it sounds, but I really don’t see what demographic Roland are targeting with a price tag of 870 euros for a virtual analog with wavetables and no after touch.
Me. I don't really care about aftertouch. I just bought a Jupiter-Xm, but this seems like it's more in line with what i was looking for. The Xm sounds fantastic, but the UI is cold garbage. And it's $500 more than this. This is like a Jupiter-Xm crossed with a Minilogue.
reminds me Waldorf, or maybe you was in the mood for 'Krautrock' stuff ? As a fan of Kraftwerk you surely find easely the settings. But it sounds also like Tangerine Dream or Klaus Schultze. I used to love slightly frightening Timewind. Too dark for me now !
Looks interesting. Roland has been getting a bad rap for some of it's offerings but they seem to be making hardware people are willing to buy. Thanks for the demo. You get work from everything you touch.
The structure with one wavetable oscillator and two digital analogue ones is like in the Studiologic Sledge, also tje concept of as little menu diving as possible. And that one has aftertouch...
No, no drums, but you can design drum sounds on it and then record them to use in any sampler to make a custom drumkit. This is a standalone synth. If you want a workstation that you can create tracks on and have drum sounds included, look at MC-707, Juno-D6, or Fantom-06. There's JD-Xi as well, but it is a simpler machine.
Hey DoctorMix, I love watching unboxinlg videos. I always think 'Id love to have whatever. But I just can't afford it. So I was thinking, you unboxed a lot over the years. It would be cool if you did something like giving a new review of the equipment you've had for over a year. I'd like to know how some of this stuff has held up. And maybe if you're still giving it a good review, I could probable pick up a used key board in a pawn shop or something in my monetary range, that withstood the test of time. Just a thought.
I haven't been happy with Roland's recent releases for a long time, this seems to fix things somewhat with that Motional pad and sequencer, me excite!!!
Hello Claudio! I have a used Gaia 1. I have to run it through a mixer to amplify the sound 😕 maybe it's broken I'll try to get it repaired. Do ever wear other colors then red 😂 I get so excited to watch Doctor Mix
Классная, отличная модель. Однозначно если выбирать роланд гайя 2 или ямаха монтаж 8 или роланд фантом 8 , стоит сильно задуматься, что из этих Зх машин выбрать! Спасибо за видео и красивую музыку ❤
Tubular Bells looming there.😊 The style you have on the videos allows the synths to come out as more than mere bass instruments. Please, check out Polyphia ft. Anomalie - The Audacity. It is a real modern jazz fusion showcase for guitar instrumental band spiked with keyboards.
I was thinking about buying one of the boutique keyboards. I assume this will do all that and more. Some classic piano sounds to fender Rhodes, oberheim etc.
I used to love Roland in the ‘80 and ‘90. I was in love with the JD 800 probably because of Jean-Michel Jarre. So I got into FM synthesis…In my forties it became “Digital Analog” (whatever). Now, past my fifties, I only wanna hear about analog and sequencing the good ol’ fashioned way. It helps, of course, that most keyboards are poop quality (except FATAR, yeah). Dottore, I am getting vecchio….
I'd love to see you speak a little more about the instrument, even just the sales pitch, I'm not sure I know any more about this thing now than when I started but it did sound beautiful!
Not whishing to be sycophantic here, but through an Arcam rDAC -> Icon Audio HP8 MKII -> Beyerdynamic DT770 Pro 250Ω (2022 version, yes they sound different) this was quite a head trip; that is all.

@@couchcamperTM I had a RS-50 and I can relate.

Same here, love this guy's energy!
which makes him a great musician a perfect demonstator... but not a critical reviewer. But he really creates Gas for everything he touches.
You are the best, Claudio! Fantastic demonstration! You put a smile on my face with every video you make!

Keep the summit indeed Roland is all the same these days. Flat sound. De dsp does the work. When you have Fantom6 you have it all.
Who said you have to let go of it?! They're both drastically different. You keep it and bust it out for "that one sound." Trust me I've had so much fucking gear I regret selling. Now most of it is so flipping goddamn expensive....

The Gaia2 would definitely be perfect in a soundtrack to any SiFi movie. Love this channel.
C’est un délice à écouter le son jouer par Doctor mix . Une maîtrise parfaite .
That is an amazingly pretty synth. And the sound is incredible. I think you just sold it to me.
Love how you just opened the box and already know how to tweak all the parameters! Awesome cover btw!
He’d watched Loopop’s video first! 😂
The first line you play with the drum computer is very inspiring. Sounds incredible. Thanks for that!
Mike Oldfields “Tubular Bells” right? 😃
My day lighten up when a Dr Mix notification pops up!

and just like that i sound like a shill sorry guys
This is impressive. Even the design blow my mind.
Claudio , eres muy bueno y lo tocas fantástico . Ese Roland también me gusta . Enhorabuena !!!
Well done demo. Really enjoyed it! After hearing this it makes me want one.
nice stuff C...gave me an idea with that bassy arpy stuff at the start ;)
I already told - this guy is genius! Pure art!

4:20 That's the Tubular Bells riff! Respect.

D'accordo.
I second that!
Strange, pointing out that it is a Tubular Bells inspired song gets my comment removed.
It is an compliment!
Add some sub bass, some sweep pads, and some aaaaah vocals and it's a pretty sexy ambient track! 😁
Hooray! Claudio!!! I think this will be my first “NEW” synth!!
Your performance is hypnotic!
Gaia was my first, still love to get on it now and then and rock house! The2 looks amazing
Claudio that Gaia 2 is incredible and of course , you are the Keybordist Magician getting the most from it !!

The exorcist theme remix was awesome, Dr Mix don't miss🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
really cool
dude, your charisma is unmatched :D
Thanks Dr Mix, your the best, see you at SynthFest
This thing is reminding me a lot of the JP-8000, to be honest. I like it!
you are so much fun to watch!
Doctor mix for the jam of the week with that viby first lick killing it g
Awesome. Nice design too. And I loved the tunes you played.
Off topic but I got a Melodian cause of you , and I’m loving it.

Thx Claudio this Toy 😁 sounds Incredible! At 3:18 I hear Tubular Bells! 😊

Nothing wrong? You need to listen to raw sounds from oscillators, and then you will see the wrong ones)
You have the best job.
Your Videos are amazing and make me smile - thank sfor your happyness
That Exorcist joint! 🫡🔥
Sounds amazing, but he could make a Casio from the 80's sound awesome. He's awesome on the keys..
He's a pro mate.😊
Damn, sounds WAY better than the first one
Can't be overstated.
3:19 - this moment is very emotional (melody + sound ) , the sound conveys stimulation in the brain, simply but powerfull.
that's "the exorcist" soundtrack 😊
at 04:20 he rearranges it to something completely different and more cool ( imo )
9:25 kind of "Spiral" of Vangelis :) Nice presentation
Nice to see someone actually 'work' an instrument... Cheers!
Aah, these demo's you do always sounds awesome! Would love to see one on the Korg Minilogue xd one day. I have it, and it sounds lush
Hi thought you would have got the Minifreak keyboard as well. That Gaia sounds cool.
Hello from Greece! Amazing review!❤
Master at work!
Love the matrix on your keyboard amazing sounds. your playing is fabulous.❤️🌹x
That was AWESOME!!!!!
Great demo.
Looks great sounds great.
Wonderful Demo. Thank you for your virtuosity! Remebers me to my first Synth, the Formant.
Roland going for a Korg look i see with the new Gaia. Really dig the older look of the original version.
*Alesis Ion look
or
*Native Instruments Super 8 look
the korg looks tasteless in comparison, too
4 minutes thirty background music for any Miami vice type show or movie. Nice.

Lovely synth, but it does it’s not as compelling as the SH-4D that has drums, 5-track sequencer, and no silly 3 octave keyboard?
Claudio when a collaboration with Paolo from synthmania?
Love the pads at 8:35 !
I love my Hydrasynth but I may have to give this a try. The price tag though 😬
