There's always a battle for the best drive wheels and the competition is great for us consumers. The assembly and setup is a little bit complicated for a guy like me. Economical and a massive upgrade from the Logitech. Well reviewed here. like 182
I literally just went to buy this on it's first selling day here in the US....and didn't do it. It was $299 US with a pedal set, $329 with a table clamp added in. Sounds great, right? Then I went to check out and shipping from Wherever in China this ships from to the Bronx, NY USA and it added a whopping $114.00 to the total...!! That brought this combo to nearly $450 delivered (and I should add that delivered date was as up in the air as it gets, 14-20 days or more). Fanatec has had for a few days now their CSL DD 5Nm bundle with base, pedals and a either their standard P1 v2 wheel or their BMW branded wheel (the same as the P1 with nicer graphics) for the same price = $399 US, $429 with a table clamp. Even with Fanatec charging $54 for shipping it's simply a better deal all around than the C5. I'm actually kinda pissed off about the ridiculous shipping charge for the C5 as I was really looking forward to getting it. But now I'm getting the Fanatec bundle instead as it has multiple upgrade paths (steering wheel/Boost pack) where the C5 has none. They really need to fix the shipping issue and fast if they want to compete here!
I bought the C5 bundle with the desk mount. Yeah, they got me for $114.90 in shipping and my bank charged me another $12.40 to use PayPay international payment. The pedals are basically crap. They work, but not great. I ended up buying Fanatec CSL DD pedals for $79 and they are great I did have to buy Fanatec's USB adapter for another $19.95. Shipping from Cammus is SLOW! It took 21 days for mine to arrive. I do like the Cammus C5, it performs better than I expected. I only race on iracing and have yet to get the tach or speedometer to work. I'm not sure why it doesn't work. Software is up tp date. I initially was going to buy the Fanates CSL DD bundle, but on check out, they were going to charge a mandatory $54 for the first year warranty. I opted out and bought the C5, now regretting that decision. I think the Fanatec is overall a better deal and product...just my opinion.
@crudwater660 I also have a g920, and I was looking to make the upgrade to this, did you ever buy this and if so is it worth it / better than a g920? Thanks
I am very unhappy with Cammus' warranty service. I purchased a C5, which developed a defect after just over 1 month of use. Cammus sent me another unit and asked me to pay the customs duties and I paid. Now, when it comes to refunding, Cammus is informing them that the fees are higher than they can pay. I am really disappointed with Cammus and at this moment I am not thinking about purchasing anything else from the brand, and I will strongly recommend to the virtual pilot community that they do not buy either.
I've been on the fence a while about getting back into sim racing, but since this thing exists... It costs as much as the Sparco rim I have for my T300! Absolutely insane what's come out in the last years.
Yeah I sure that and price wise that's awesome! This is what more competition in the market does, what be interesting to see if Moza drops their R5 wheel.
…unless your on cosole, adding a wheel that makes it console compatible puts you up to almost $800 usd. I feel like if it’s a bundle they should only add a little bit of an up charge for the needed wheel, if the bundle normally comes with a wheel included why do I have to pay full price for a different one,, and if I have to pay the full price of a second wheel I should get the one that’s included also, not that I would need it but if I’m already paying for it..🤷🏻♂️
