I would prefer companies to stop putting spf in foundation. It shortens the shelf life of the foundation, but more importantly, can cause skin irritation. I’m very allergic to zinc oxide, so that ingredient rules out a lot of great foundations for me.
Same here. Almost all SPFs make me more oily or break out. I have to be very specific with the SPF brand. So it sucks as it limits my foundation picks.
Robert Welsh has THE BEST oily skin prep makeup video. I’ve used that when I need makeup to stay put for events and office meeting days. I’ve used his prep technique with lots of different products and omg- it works!! He explains it soooo well and I watched thinking- DUH!! why aren’t we all doing this?!
I love that you also inform us normal to dry mature skin ladies what foundations are correct for us since you have oily skin. Most UA-camrs dont. So I really appreciate that!♥️♥️♥️
Hi Stephanie, Can you please review high end foundation, primers and serum for mature skin? I’m very interested in Chanel, Dior and Charlotte Tilbury. Thanks I really enjoy your video’s I’m also in my mid 40’s
Hands down the BEST foundation reviews! Even with my dry skin, I trust your opinion and have found some great foundation finds because of you. Love your channel! ❤️
Why does It Cosmetics continue to put fragrance, chemical SPF, and citrus oil in their foundations!? YMMV, but look into what limonene and fragrance can do to your skin both immediately and long-term. What's puzzling is that they are giving us beautiful ingredients like snail secretion and niacinamide and then destroying it with the added crap.😕
I have normal to dry skin and live in the Midwest with moderate to high humidity and LOVE the Givenchy. Wears so beautifully. I was shocked that it was a matte bc it definitely doesn’t wear like a matte on my skin. I absolutely detested the new It CC. Not sure why but I’ve never looked worse
Same here, Bryn. I live in the hot, humid Midwest and I LOVE the Prisme Libre Matte foundation. It's my HG foundation. I feel photo shopped when wearing it!
The IT CC.. never works for me and it bothers me. I always like it right when I put it on and then it comes off and I just will not spend the time putting some thing on to try to make it look nice to have it melt off in an hour or less. I don’t have oily skin at all. I’m always jealous when somebody says it works for them
@@stevdaughtr6098 Yes! And I’m so aware of the feeling of it on my face all day. Like I’m wearing an oil balm or something. However my friend that I gave it to absolutely loves it. Glad I didn’t have to waste it and I could gift it but jealous it didn’t work for me!
Love that you are right "down the road" from me in Ponchatoula so you definitely know our climate! It's sooo hot and humid already! I'm not ready for summer!!
The Kosas was a struggle for me. It just went through many different stages during the day. It looked gelatinous and shiny for the first few hours and then it was pure perfection. That perfection only lasted a couple of hours max. It was downhill from there. Accentuating pores and dry patches and breaking up in in a not-so-elegant way. I never felt like I could trust it. I was constantly checking my face because I just never knew what it was doing.
I fell in love with Givenchy's Prisme Libre foundation this past month. I have nothing negative to say about it. My pores and texture are not emphasized. It's long lasting, has a great medium coverage, and simply has a photo shopped appearance on this 72 yr old normal to dry skin of mine. I don't have an oily T-zone so living in the humid Midwest didn't disrupt the appearance of this foundation on me. I didn't think there would be any foundation to bump Cle de Peau Radiant Fluid Foundation Matte out of my HG status. The fact that there's a $90 difference in the prices brought joy to my heart!! 😊
I love the Umoa Beauty foundation that they now sell at Walmart. It’s so pretty on my oily, combo skin and I live in the desert. Great coverage and is buildable to medium coverage. Not full coverage but for those of us who want an affordable everyday foundation it’s beautiful.
Stephanie, the Givenchy Foundation looks so good on you! I really think and match your skin tone perfectly! You look beautiful in all of them, but that one was my favorite
Considering I have dry skin, I have no idea why the It Cosmetics CC Cream looks and feels awful on me??!! I'm still loving the Beauty Blender Bounce and the Chanel No.1 foundations, they both work so well for my skin. Dry skin or not, your foundation vids are excellent 👌 Thank you Stephanie 😊 Much love 💜💚💜💚💜
@@heatherjane910 It wouldn't surprise me Heather, products, great products, seem to get discontinued for some unknown reason. If I could access Sephora I would stock up on the Bounce foundation (we don't have Sephora in the UK) for sure. xx
Thank you for such great reviews on all these foundations. I have very similar combo skin, I’m 62, and live in Chicago where it can be very humid in the summer. I have been loving the Tarte Maracuja Tinted Hydrator. I get a little shine in the t-zone later in the day but not a ton. Just love this product and highly recommend you try if you haven’t yet.
I also love that you don’t cake on the blush like some UA-camrs !! Even tho they are beautiful, they sometimes look like clowns w beautiful makeup!! The reason I’m saying this is that sometimes some of us like to follow each step as we sometimes want to see if we can make ourselves look as beautiful as the UA-camr !!😂😂😂 However, when we get carrier away & follow the blush step we end up looking like a beautiful “Clown!!!”♥️😂😂
I'm 17 almost 18 and we have very different skin but i still love watching you already i just found your page i can't wait to watch more of your videos!!

Hey Stephanie! Thanks for the roundup, and for asking what we'd like to see in the next one. Could you please include bases put out by Dollface/Doll 10, carried at Rite Aid? I think Tati explored the whole makeup AND skincare line back in January of 2020, but she doesn't have the age-related dryness and lines that we women of a certain age deal with. Her skin is just so perfect, I feel like an alien creature in comparison. Not to offend you! But reality is real. Thank you so much for your time, talent and energy! I really enjoyed this presentation today, and your explanation of sheer, light, medium and full coverage expectations from different products is so valuable to me!
Thank you so much for your thorough and honest reviews. Although my skin type and climate are different than yours, I find your reviews extremely helpful.
Love the It glow and loreal balm! For the kosas, alone it is just fine, but I have found if I add a little moisturizer and loreal lumi glow to it, it wears beautifully and looks fantastic.
I love your foundation reviews! We live in similar climates and have similar skin types, and are close in age, so what works for you often works for me too. I really appreciate that you try them more than 1 day and in different combinations with primer, etc. before you give your final thoughts.
Love your foundation reviews! They are so very helpful! I’ve been interested in trying the Guerlain Lingerie De Peau Natural Foundation and the Ilia True Skin Medium Coverage Serum Foundation with Niacinamide. Would love to see reviews on those two! ♥️
I have very dry skin and each time I wear the one size bbb I find I really like it more. For some reason I didn’t wear it for a while and picked it to wear yesterday, forgot just how much it really air brushes the skin.

As a normal-dry skinned person, I agree with your assessment of the Kosas. I absolutely LOVE it, and it's a holy grail....except for summertime. It does NOT like Indiana heat and humidity.
I tried the L'oreal Age Perfect Balm. Why does it give me polka dot pores!? Ugh. I bought two shades. So disappointing. I love your videos and recommendations, Stephanie!
I really wanted to love the Patrick Starr BBB. I watched all the reviews and application methods. I tried all the methods, with and without primers. I just couldn’t make it work. I have never hated a foundation bc I can usually make it work even if I had to finesse it. Not this one. It sits so heavy and obvious on my skin and breaks up and shifts around. ☹️
I can't wait to try the Loreal Balm.... I'm a light coverage girl & I can't wait to try it....been wanting it for a while, but have been looking for all the reviews from people I trust!! And... the It Cosmetics CC nude skin, I've GOT to try.... Love your channel!! 💛🌻🤗 xo Stephanie in Kentucky 🥰😘😍
I don't do that because it's going to vary person to person based on individual skin chemistry and the products you use. Some things that oxidize on you may not oxidize on me at all and vice versa. And something that oxidizes a lot on me, may not do so much or at all on you. So many factors come into play that cause something to oxidize.
The L'oreal foundation is pretty amazing, I think its a dupe for the Wayne Goss. I don't think you have tried that one but look forward to your review. Thanks for your video!
I have been watching your videos for a while now and I do enjoy your thorough feedback. I also like the fact that you look close to my complexion so I can kind of find my standard shade, but you use pretty dark shades for your products. You look very pale in the videos, Is it the lighting you use? I’m a brunette with light skin but - specifically for Caliray - The 6 is almost 2 shades darker than my actual tone. Would you please elaborate your choice of tones? ❤️
Hi! Thank you for watching! My face is lighter than my neck and chest. To make everything look cohesive, I match my face to my neck and chest as closely as possible so that everything is as close to the same tone/undertone. If I were to match my face shade it would look odd because my face would remain paler than my neck and chest. I have a lot of red overtones in my face that mask my neutral/warm undertones in the rest of my body also. It's always best to match your neck/chest when matching foundations unless you plan to take your foundation all the way down onto that area as well. I hope that helps! :)
Greta round up! Ever since I saw that L’Oréal balm on Angie H&F’s channel I have been wearing it like crazy. We are typically shade twins and I do find I like 20 better than 10 but have and use both. 👍🏻
Great video…very helpful. Would love to hear your thoughts on Origins Vita Zing Tinted Moisturizer. I have been using it as my foundation for probably 15 years. I think it is great, but I have seen very few reviews on it.
I use the glow version of the prism libre foundation and I kind of like it - and I’m pretty oily- but I like a pretty sheer foundation (and I haven’t used it in the late spring - summer) .. I am halfway through a bottle. I don’t think that it will replace my Dior backstage face and body as top tier.
I get to the store and can’t decide the right shade of foundation to buy. What’s your tips for that? I keep buying bottles of the wrong shade and don’t want to waste more money. Help.
Wasn’t trying to be disrespectful, I know you would show the foundation after applying, I just wanted to see after worn a while without the powder. I’m 58 with extremely dry skin & can not use powder. But I do appreciate all you do. ❤️
Hi! I just saw your original reply in my "held for review" section. UA-cam automatically and randomly throws comments in there and sometimes just deletes comments we never see. I approved it, so you should see it now 👍🏼 I understand why you're wanting to see that. But not setting wouldn't be a realistic test or show how the foundation would look or wear naturally on someone like me with shine-prone areas. Powdering a foundation lets it wear as it should on normal skin. Even for an hour or 30 minutes without powder, shine comes through and it's more prone to slipping off in those areas, which wouldn't happen with you since you don't have those issues. Also, powder color products (bronzer, blush) are more prone to applying patchy since they grab onto the un-set foundation rather than glide over a smooth canvas after powder. I hope that helps 💖
I tried the Givenchy foundation too and so wanted to like it, but I didn’t like it either. It didn’t sit right on my skin and seemed to emphasize pores. It was the most expensive foundation I’ve ever tried so I’m not sad that it had to go back.
Thank you for the comparison. I want to try the Loreal 4-1 I will get your shade light 10. Could you use this under your eyes? Did it pull orange on you? Some days it does!
I'm hoping that the Bobbi Brown Skin Long Wear fluid powder foundation is not being discontinued as my color is discontinued w/ Nordstrom's & Sephora. Can you do a review on the Bobbi Brown Skin Long Wear Weightless? Do you know the difference between the two?
I was just wondering what you thought of the L’Oréal 4 n 1 because I’ve been wanting to try it. I do normally use bare minerals powder foundation but have been feeling like it’s a little drying lately. Great timing! Thank you so much!☺️
11:48 was that meant to be shade Light Ten, or is there a Light Tan shade as well? I’ve been really wanting to try this and keep going back and forth on whether I would be Light 10 or Light 20. Thanks for this roundup, it’s so hard to keep up with all the launches and this helps me know which to steer clear from. 💕
Oops - light 10. But I think my year round better shade would be light 20. Each shade can work for several tones and I think light 20 will work for me longer throughout the year
Oh wow, I was curious about the Kosas, but it didn't look good on you at all! I have about the same skintype, but I don't live in a humid climate. Still skipping this one though! Thanks for the roundup, very helpful!
I really enjoy the One Size BBB foundation, so much that I bought a 2nd shade as Medium 2 is too dark. I usually don’t like mixing different foundations but one day I happened to mix this with the new Nars Light Reflecting and it was soooooo pretty!!!!! And stayed all day!!! I kept looking at my skin in the car mirror and was amazed!!!!! Do you know why shades in the Bobbi Brown powder foundation aren’t in Sephora again?? I need a new shade!
I really like the L’Oreal 4-1 tinted balm. L’Oreal is not calling it a foundation they are referring to the product as a balm, that’s exactly what it is. I have normal to dry skin and it feels really good. It looks and feels well moisturized without being wet and dewy. I love these type of products to simply smooth it across your face, put on a little mascara and GO. Drugstores have really come a long way when it comes to cream complexion products 👏👏👏👏👏
I would prefer companies to stop putting spf in foundation. It shortens the shelf life of the foundation, but more importantly, can cause skin irritation. I’m very allergic to zinc oxide, so that ingredient rules out a lot of great foundations for me.
Also you need three fingers worth of product to even get any SPF benefits.
Same here. Almost all SPFs make me more oily or break out. I have to be very specific with the SPF brand. So it sucks as it limits my foundation picks.
Agreed, I hate the feel of spf and it makes me hive.

I would love to see what you think about Clinique Even Better Clinical Serum Foindation Broad Spectrum SPF 25

The L’Oréal balm foundation goes on dry & does absolutely nothing for me. I as sad😢
Love these videos
Great review. Thank you
I was just wondering what you thought of the L’Oréal 4 n 1 because I’ve been wanting to try it. I do normally use bare minerals powder foundation but have been feeling like it’s a little drying lately. Great timing! Thank you so much!☺️
Aw man! That's s bummer about the Kosas! I'm not an oily girl. I'm more of a normal to dry so maybe it will work for me!
Hey StephanieMarie, did you ever try the ROC Retinol night serum capsules? I wanted to try the Neutrogena stuff but I picked these up instead.
What sunscreen are you using under the PS? I use EltaMD. I can’t decide if I like it or not.. I did try it with primers and was not impressed
Each shade can work for several tones and I think light 20 will work for me longer throughout the year
@@StephanieMarie Awesome thanks much! Can’t wait to try it. I am 43 in June with normal/dry skin, so that Balm looks right up my alley.
You are so beautiful, inside and out. Love your reviews.
Thank you!
Oh wow, I was curious about the Kosas, but it didn't look good on you at all! I have about the same skintype, but I don't live in a humid climate. Still skipping this one though! Thanks for the roundup, very helpful!
Oh no! I just bought that one! Haven’t tried yet though
Have you ever tried Mineral Fusion foundation at Whole Foods? I am torn between clean and regular foundations. Thank you!
I haven't :)
Can you do a review on oxygenics foundation?
Would love to see you try out the Uoma by Sharon C foundation!
I have the exact same skin as you! Totally different face shape though LOL.
I live in the Sonoran desert 🌵 and I fight a perspiration war daily. Is there makeup setting spray you like for the humid climate you live in?
I so wish I could try the L’Oréal 4 in 1, but my rosacea will not me.
Thx Stephanie!!
