I take my 19 GMC Sierra Denali 1500 (Ultimate Pack) off road and it does just fine. Granted, I have the 2 inch leveling kit from Rough Country and a set of Falken Wildpeak A/T3W tires on it. It still has all the manners of the street truck but can do a bit of offroad work as well. Nothing crazy like the new AT4-X can do but still pretty nice offroad.
people have been taking their Denali trucks and putting a lift kits and off road tires on them for years so they can have the best of both worlds..... It's only a matter of time now until we see the Denali Ultimate get the the AEV front bumper, lift kits and knobby tires crawling the sand dunes and back roads and Costco parking lots.
You are totally right. I hate the interior on the AT4. I think the pictures of the interior look like garbage. They need a 1500 Denali with the AT4 package.
On the ultimate model when you put it into 4-Low, the truck body will raise another inch. You didn't mention that which is why it cleared the rock pile.
It just has no clearance at all. Not to mention the junk G80 and huge wheels. It's amazing that GM hasn't moved to a selectable locker, like the ZR2 gets.
Shoot my 2wd Ram 1500 Classic with stock 17 inch wheels, tires, and ride height has gotten through washed out dirt roads with deep ruts better than that. Even my old 06 Dakota had a better break over angle.
@@TexasTruckChanneldefinitely, TX hill country clay can be a challenge. I mostly put around in the west TX desert. The Sierra would benefit from a lift kit or leveling kit at the very least 👍
Nice truck, but not a worker. Can't even get a 6.5 box on an ultimate. Can't get max tow on any Denali. All show. Maybe it's just suited for Hollywood.
Off Road test with slick stock tires? First thing I did when I bought mine was throw some new shoes on it and level the front end . Stock tires from the dealer are a joke .
Yeah the 4wd is nice to have for mild off road gravel and all wheel traction on the street. I would never take my ultimate in an off-road situation where the truck doesn’t belong. If I plan on doing that stuff then I hop in my trx for that.

Great vid. I wouldn't even dream of taking an $85K truck off asphalt. Ya'll got more guts than me.
Thanks for watching, we were impressed with something this nice being this capable.
This a beautiful truck but nobody buys this trim level for off-road use.
Totally, we pointed that out as well. Still fun to see what it can do.

No doubt about that

So dramatic
With the right tires it would go up that baby hill even on 2WD
It would… it all comes down to how much body damage you are willing to get with the speed needed to get up in 2wd.
That blue looks amazing!!!
You should see the red it looks amazing
It would be great to see something *vintage* go up that hill!
We can make that happen!
On the ultimate model when you put it into 4-Low, the truck body will raise another inch. You didn't mention that which is why it cleared the rock pile.
Hello, we did not mention that because the Sierra does not have adjustable ride height like the Yukon does.
New tires will take care of this
Absolutely
How do you think it will do in the snow?
Oh it will do very well with its 4 auto mode. Snow tires would only make it better for severe climates.
Great Video, can someone please tell me what color this color has? Thank you!
Definitely a pavement princess 👑
the whole point😂😂

The G80 and low nose are a bummer, yet it still managed to put its low range to work and make it up smoothly.
get a Ram Limited with air suspension and show GM how luxury trucks how to do it🤣
Yeah but it's at the dealer getting worked on! 😂

Deep ruts, we believe that. 2wd requires a tall tire and lots of ground clearance to make it up this step. The camera flattens it out.

It’s a highway truck maybe gravel roads but not off-roading ✌️🇨🇦

All show? It’s a street oriented trim. Just like there are off-road oriented trims. You people can’t be adults commenting like this.

How tall is that guy? He can just hug that truck
He is a big truck hugger. 6’4”
That all wheel drive car is not made to go off road. It doesn't even have skid plates.
You don't have off road tires, they're practically bear... IS THIS FOR REAL? lol
They are not bear, they are brand new! Yes we test them all equally if possible. The Denali Ultimate did surprisingly well.
heheheh infinite money option: get a denali ultimate, and just mod the thing into an "at4x ultimate"

You might missing the point of the hill test. The hardest version of the approach angle is the main line.
Sorry, as nice as the truck is, it's not set up for any off road driving
Not helpful at all. Why??
Very helpful for comparative analysis, and for anyone who off roads their truck.

Don’t worry we have the AT4X coming soon.
