    Airdate Jan. 11th, 1966. I remember this episode as a kid watching '70s syndication. Joan overhears his talking about that cannon using dynamite, and he said, "I was saying Dina might do something" The thing about growing up with a black and white TV is you don't notice it's black and white, since we didn't know what color TV looked like

    My uncle says he remembers watching this episode of PDETD when it first aired. He was in the 2nd grade and loved the Man from UNCLE just like the twins, and at first was so excited to see Illya Kuryakin, but then disappointed when he didn't reappear at all in the episode.

    The actor playing the tailor (operating the steam machine) used to pop up on spy shows, too. I remember him from at least two episodes of The Avengers, with Patrick Macnee and Diana Rigg.

      Loved that dog! My dad had a friend who had an OESD named Illya. He had blue eyes like David; but with all that dog fur, you couldn't see them. Hard to believe David is 86 now and been playing Ducky since "NCIS" began-and still no bloody EMMY!

    Those were the two boys in the black and white picture previously posted. I love how he scrunched down to their size and looked the one boy in the eyes. The expression on David's face was so sweet.

    Me and my brother both got Man from Uncle play kits when kids. Working walki talkies, plastic gun with removable barrel and stock extensions. Wish I had kept them and the box.

    The strangest cross-over in TV history. It was like the IMF visitng the Brady Bunch.

    • @virginiaconnor8350
      @virginiaconnor8350 5 років тому +1

      That's ok. I used to write cross-overs too when I was younger! "MFU"/"ST" ( several): "ST/Cheech & Chong" (no, I wasn't smoking any weed, etc. I just had a weird imagination at times); and "Dark Shadows"/"Mr.'Ed". Probably decided they were too silly to keep but some could be in a drawer. My science teacher liked the Cheech & Chong one-I gave it to him to keep.

      @@virginiaconnor8350 Nothing wrong with that. I only ever wrote one, based on a picture of Tom Baker's Doctor, dueling Darth Vader! (Tom's holding the light saber in one hand, with the scarf thrown over the other.) I had it being the Doctor, stuck out of his usual dimension, but still somewhere he'd ended up in once before, during the Clone Wars. For his actions there, he got a light saber.

      @@ejay1118 I painted a photo of Dr. Who leaning out of his YARD IS and looking down while Cpt.Kirk looking up at him. Caption at the bottom read "Oh dear, I think somebody's in the wrong time zone!". I was new to Dr. Who and Tom Baker became my favourite Dr.Who after 1 episode. It was an idea that popped in my head while I was painting with acrylics one day. A friend bought it for about $15. I photographed it before I sold it, but lost that too.

      Not today, you don't! Not even if you were a mother! My mother left us kids in our car for about 15 min.to go to the bathroom at Ft. MacPherson and an MP met her as she returned. He started to give her a ticket, but gave her a warning instead. He knew my dad who was a rank or two above him. Still, she didn't do that again! Guess who? A co-star who played on "MFU" had a daughter a month older than I born there. I wasn't-only my 2 younger siblings and a nephew-but her dad played an alien on tv.

      If he smoked, then he's either dead already or has some illness- like COPD-the illness that killed Leonard Nimoy-later Spock in "ST" and Paris in "M:I". His daughter Julie was the one born at Ft. MacPherson in Atlanta.

    So cute, even the dog! If Illya had such great hearing, you'd think he'd hear those boys call his name, look up and wave to them! My father's friend had an OESD he named Illya back in the late '60's: one heck of a smart, but silly boy! He loved herding chipmunks and squirrels in his backyard, but so did my BC Tess. RIP, David.
