Thanks Janie! It was such a fun project on the cheap! Yes Saltwash is so much fun to work with! You should give it a try. Nice one and like you I found 2 plates at a local thrift store and made one. I just love them and they look so nice for such a small price. Well done on you how 2 as well. Thank you for sharing.

thank you for this tutorial, now I know how I can paint my candle holder... now to decide on the plates I want to do... do you have any suggestions or tutorials if one would like to do a 3 tiered?
Anna Holt Thanks. We don’t have a tutorial making a 3 tiered tray, but we have made one before. You can buy the center rod to hold the plates together, and they screw together.
Oh gosh....Thank you sooo much! I've been trying sooo hard to find a tiered tray with Glass instead of cake pans etc. I just wanted to use a few items I've had for years and NOW I Know I can! It's sooo pretty too! Merry Christmas! I did sub you ;)

Hi Jan! We're glad to have you here with us! Saltwash is a paint additive. It's made from real sea salt. You can add it to ANY type of paint! It gives your project a weathered and worn, salty air finish. You can pick it up through this link if you want to give it a try. (Also, it does have a blue hue to it, but it doesn't change the color of your paint at all.)
