@Proper First, you can clearly tell in the background behind her that she is at work. Second, you can tell in 2 or them, it is a patients room bc of the closet doors they have. Third, it doesn't matter if she did them at home. Anyone that has a job and posts those types of videos knows its against company policy...even off the clock. If you can't see that what she's saying is so wrong and NOT funny..especially to ppl with loved ones in a nursing home or hospital, then that's a problem. SNL Skits are funny bc it's parody. This is her job. Two different scenarios.
As a nurse I’m offended. Nursing is one of the most trusted professions. To have a nurse saying things like this damages the trust the public has in all of us. I don’t appreciate being represented this way. The fact that these things even crossed her mind is concerning to me. I would hope she has never placed a patient’s safety at risk. But these types of comments make me wonder. This isn’t okay! When you put on that uniform and nursing badge you are representing ALL OF US! Act professionally and with ethics. It’s not ok to damage the public’s trust in us. If she loses her license I won’t be upset.
Ive been in hospitals that allow worse than this ,at night when nurses "think" patients are sleeping the crap ive heard is more disturbing than anything i heard off this video .. Smh
@@beth6288 That's bloody terrible . Was that in a private, for-profit, treatment centre? I've never had nurses bad-mouth me to my (sleeping) face, in our socialised system (the NHS). Even when many of the nurses were private contractors, everyone has been very kind and patient with me (my veins now hide at any rumours of a needle sticking them). Bad-mouthing patients where they can hear is completely unacceptable, and cannot be good for their recovery.
@ Luna Puella...you nailed it!! She has deep seated disdain for the patients!! Someone who genuinely cares about them would never say those things let alone even think them.
I can take a joke but there are legitimate reasons why you don't joke about bombs in the airport and you don't joke about mistreating patients in a healthcare facility.

I too only saw it as a joke, but you’re right, she should have apologized when she noticed everyone don’t see it as her, I and some others do. It is actually a dark sense of humor but most people know who you can joke with and when to joke. I’m a nurse and I consider her actions appalling. What’s even more appalling is that she doesn’t think she’s done anything wrong. It’s incredibly unprofessional and I hope the state board of nursing takes a close look at whether she’s fit to hold a license anymore.
Im a former nurse who took incredible pride in caring for residents. Her actions would definitely get a visit from the state and I'd push till her license was permanently revoked. If she actually did any of those things, I'd file the lawsuit myself.
I’m an RN too and I know nurses who have gotten in trouble for posting FB posts about work, it’s so obvious why an employer would fire you for this, you are representing your employer while at work, and when posting about work when not on the clock. Can’t believe she’s only suspended, sooooo unprofessional and ppl are donating money to her go fund me?!?!?
She's legit saying she doesn't give a s*** about her patients on her tick tock. You can't say that ever even as a joke. I've seen nurses lose their license and get on probation for lesser things and yet somehow she still apparently has hers
Exactly. That was the only way to handle it. Anyone who thinks they went too far should consider the backlash this place would get for not doing enough.
True. She should have made the videos at home on her time and anonymously. Obviously she was using dark humor like Saturday night live and other famous comedians
@Aron Toulouse Ah! So you see that there is no need for seriousness when you can choose rather to be sincere. Take life sincerely, but never seriously. If you must see a nurse or doctor be sure to ask them, "Are you being serious?" If they say yes then tell them thank you and bring your visit with them to an end peacefully. Don't wish anything bad upon them, forgive them and move on to go find another doctor for a second opinion. If you haven't yet seen the doctor then simply and kindly ask for a different nurse and ask them same question. When they say, "No" or "I am being sincere," without any sarcasm of course as sarcasm is insincerity, the mocking of sincerity, then you know you are in very good hands. This works with anything in life even with "your"-Self. You will notice that those who are being very serious are full of fear and deceit and it isn't just you they are trying to convince and deceive, but also themselves. In order to deceive themselves they have to convince everyone else too or at least argue with them so they can dismiss whatever reasonable sound wisdom they may share with them which the serious deceived ones will resist those who reason with a sound mind given to love and intelligence. Ask " your"-Self whatever you are thinking of saying or doing, "Is this based on love and intelligence?" If it is not then do not say it nor do it, let it go. The serious ones rely heavily on their own intellect which ignorance masquerading as intelligence which is why they confuse two. And the price for taking action based upon insincerity comes with a high price. The cost of paying that price is unnecessary suffering. That isn't to say all suffering is unnecessary sometimes we choose to willing suffer out of love for "others." That suffering isn't all that bad and we'd gladly suffer again if given the chance. Many do not hear this message as they are too caught up in taking them serious rather being sincerely "their" Self.
My girlfriend is also a CNA in a nursing home. I hear about the treatment of residents firsthand. Crazy stories. Drugging with sleep meds, physical abuse, neglect, deprived of meals, and even "mercy killing". I get that this woman was joking, but when this stuff actually happens, jokes like that can certainly be concerning.
I also work in homes DSP. I have also seen and dealt with residents abusing their staff too, from bone breaking and stabbing to Rape. Even those in hospitals, nursing homes and in home patients aren't all innocent angels either. I understand the joke, although it isn't funny to most, yall need to understand that nurses, cna's and DSP's are abused too. For some of us, it's daily. But it's ok for the patients to do right?? 🙄
Good God. I’ve been a nurse for 33 years… It’s not something you make jokes about. As a nurse, ethics are a major part of your job. It’s sad to see standards falling
After having my baby this year, I had a whole new level of respect for nursing. They pretty much did everything, and the doctor just came in when the baby was about to come out. I even told one that she would make a fantastic Doctor.
For her to blame TicTok for your termination of employment is a very good example of another person who has no interest or desire to own what they done. I bet she always has a wild card to use when she needs to reestablish her being the victim instead of the aggressor.
I’m a Medic and also work in the Er. I saw this all go down in real time on TikTok. I was absolutely disgusted. She showed no remotse, blamed everyone but herself for the predicament She put her self in. Dark humor is extremely common in nursing and the medical field, and it can get quite dark, but there is a time and place and are simply things you do not post for the world to see, you keep it private. But this girl said this while taking a video IN a hospital, ON duty, WEARING her professional attire, AT an actual medication cart, POURING an actual patient medication. Where I live, that Tic Tok would be evidence in her "Conduct Unbecoming of a Professional" hearing. Then she would fired.
Except that the medication bottle was empty so she was just pretending to pour it & all meds like sleeping tablets have to be rigorously documented, so if she was overdosing patients, it would have showed up earlier. But that aside, you’re 100% correct about it being “conduct unbecoming”...
I don’t care if she does it on her own time or not, she literally said “I did nothing wrong, I am a victim” and she may have killed or overdosed patients

The worst of it is that she worked at a nursing home. Nursing homes already have a reputation for abuse. I have worked in one myself and I would have been irate if a coworker was doing this.
"Can't you take a joke?" is the oldest, and lamest excuse for tactless behavior in the book. It surprises me not at all that she won't take responsibility for what she decided to do, because people like her never do. It's always someone else's fault. Time to grow up, girl.
When I attempted to cancel my life subscription, the nurses were actually collecting bet money (I had been in the night prior for a bad anxiety attack) because they had all made bets I would attempt. When your at work it’s work. People do way too much and then get upset. They clearly see your not working while doing social media at your place of employment. She got herself fired and had I seen any of this in her tiktok she would have been kicked out the establishment none of it was funny imagine the families seeing this.
I promise you that you do not work 100% of the time you're at work. You take a moment to chat with someone or whatever, that's been a thing as long as people have worked. Even literal slaves chatted and sung on the job. Social media fulfills the exact same socialization function as chatting. It's about decompressing a little, it improves cognition and mood, preventing burn out. Nurses are some of the most likely to burn out because of their long, shit schedules. If her patients were receiving adequate care despite her making tiktok videos, and she wasn't advertising where she worked, and no patient was complaining about the videos, then they don't matter. They're jokes. No one would complain if someone came forward saying a nurse made that joke at a bar. They might, at most, investigate whether equipment was getting unplugged or sleep pills/drips were over-prescripted/used. She wouldn't get fired over it. If a nurse was using their phone on their shift, not for making tiktoks, but just scrolling twitter, facebook, or reddit, no one would complain or care as long as patients were adequately cared for. If an engineer was scrolling on their phone on their shift, no one would care. If a cop was scrolling on facebook during shifts, no one would care. Employees uses the restroom, so the time away from focusing on the job does not matter. The end results do. Are patients cared for? Yes? Okay then stop policing how they get it done.
The videos are passive-aggressive and I don't want someone who's "annoyed" (by the profession they chose) to take care of people who depend on them. comedy comes from an inkling of truth and it's inappropriate and insensitive to be showcasing disdain for what you do on a day to day with patients. I understand jobs having their negatives but some things need to be kept offline. I don't fault anyone feeling uncomfortable watching it. She took an oath and now she's mocking it. There's such a lack of empathy and understanding this woman has to not see the problem AND to think people are just "trolling".
It’s not the profession but the patients that are often annoying but not nearly as much as their families. Unless there is another, legitimate, reason for action she should be left alone. Some people just love being offended and have some bizarre need to claim victimization.
@@timan2039I disagree. it's unsettling and insensitive to see someone make "jokes" like that while in uniform and at the workplace. she should've put more thought into how people who have OR had relatives/friends in the hospital might feel. Patients/Families don't want to be there either I'm sure. She's there by choice so she should be mindful of how she comes off on an app that emits to the public. It's unseemly and you can't fault people for being suspicious. If she wants to be an influencer, she needs to do that off the clock. ALSO, we live in a society full of people being afflicted and living with trauma daily with very little recourse for the victim or accountability giving to the victimizer. Everyone has a "worst-case scenario" they lived or heard so "being offended" is gonna be a thing for a while until EVERYONE feels safe and assured. That's hard to come by in the US these days. Stories like patient abuse or neglect exist so it's human and even responsible to think of the worst in situations and I think that's what happened in this case. She didn't have to do those videos at work and it's ridiculous to expect people not to feel a way when someone passively talks down being a nurse or being "annoyed" with patients on camera to millions of people. Being in the land of the free doesn't mean civility goes out the window. She did this to herself.

I remember case from like 15 years ago, where two nurses at Polish hospital on NICU did photo sesion with two VERY premature newborns. One of the photos was this tiny baby put in scrubs pocket. That was terryfying, especially that one of the kids died. Not only those nurses lost their job but got criminal cases. I don't remember their sentences, but it was big case covered in news.

I presumed she added that when she edited the footage. Surely you're not allowed to wear your hair out like that when nursing? Apart from anything else, like hygiene concerns, I would have thought there was a danger of patients grabbing it and possibly hurting the person. On the other hand, maybe if it's real she's allowed to wear her hair like that because it cheers patients up.

Why does everything need to be made into a joke or comedy skit on Tik Tok these days? If you can't take a job seriously, especially if health related, then don't do that job. It's scary to think people like this could be caring for you or your loved ones.
As someone who use to work in a hospital, negligence is alive and well and is responsible for many deaths, working in any healthcare facility means you need to be alert and attentive at all times it takes seconds for a situation to go south fast so the last thing you need to be doing is making TikToks.
If an employee at a fast food joint joked online about spitting in patrons’ food, he’d be fired, whether or not he ever actually did it. Why does she think it’s different for her?
there is ALWAYS something to be doing as an on-call nurse, so the fact that she was wasting paid time making this trash is grounds enough to fire her, potential patient mistreatment aside. Not to mention that this shows poor judgment all around - something you really don’t want to see in a nurse!
The worse was the ACLS clip. ACLS = Advanced Cardiac Life Support Her Tik Tok implies she would intentionally let a patient die by sandbaging her ACLS certification training during a cardiac event she responds to.

This why I stay the hell away from nurses. Too damn serious = total lack of sincerity.

She reminds me a lot of those nurses. She reminds me of the nurses who made jokes about my dying mother, and made her clean up her own urine when she had a massive stomach tumor (laughed about it). She reminds me every nasty girl, and arrogant boy in high school who bullied people, and then turned around to become nurses/doctors. I'm over people in these fields making jokes about how much they hate their jobs, their patients because imo those jokes says A LOT about the quality of care you're getting from them.

When your at work it’s work. People do way too much and then get upset. They clearly see your not working while doing social media at your place of employment. She got herself fired and had I seen any of this in her tiktok she would have been kicked out the establishment none of it was funny imagine the families seeing this.
True. You’re*
Agreed!!
Yes? Okay then stop policing how they get it done.
even if she did it at home people would penalize her..some nurses and docs have a twisted sense of himor best to stay of social media as a nurse
Lol but thousands of nurses and docs made tiktoks on the job when covid hit.. so is it about the jokes or making tiktoks on thr job? #itsokwhenwedoit
I don't want anyone with multicolored hair to do anything for me on this Earth.
Very well said.
@@timan2039I disagree. it's unsettling and insensitive to see someone make "jokes" like that while in uniform and at the workplace. she should've put more thought into how people who have OR had relatives/friends in the hospital might feel. I'm sure it's depressing for everyone but you still have to do your job WITH HONOR. This isn't a Mcdonald's cashier position, this is a life and death occupation.

People I’ve worked with have been sacked for much less when they posted stuff on Facebook. You can get frustrated and annoyed at some behaviour, but you keep it among your coworkers
@@suetracey3333 I've been a nurse for 12 years now. While social media was already around, I was still old enough and respectable to know right from wrong. This generation is different and it's unsettling.
@ I love most auditors. Sadly, they show how awful some cops can be. I support and respect good cops as well.
Auditors aren't entitled, they just want cops to know and follow the law.
Yep...an entire generation of spoiled , entitled millennials. This is what happens when you kiss everyone's ass in society and pass out participation trophies to everyone. Self absorbed , addicted to media. Exihibisonists .
This puts her employer at risk for liability if something similar/seemingly related happens to them while under her care. Also sets herself up to be sued!
