I'm 56, overweight, going to the gym is something I don't really like, but I go anyway for the sake of my health, which is exactly what it should be about. I'm yet to see anyone filming, if ever I do, I'm certain it'll put me off going again; filming should be banned full stop, I don't want to be on someone's TikTok.
I actually met my first boyfriend in college at the gym. We were in an abs class together a couple times and after having seen each other previously, he started chatting with me. Then he came to a yoga class with me and then finally asked for my number. It was cute and felt organic. He didn’t come on too strong, he didn’t interfere with my workouts, he was just chill. If it matters, my gym outfits were tshirts and soccer shorts since I played soccer from 6-17. I can understand the impulse of wanting to make a connection right away with someone, but it has to be in the right setting, at the right time. If you walk up and interrupt someone’s workout and then ask them out, unless you’re a young version of Brad Pitt, you’re probably getting rejected. You may still get rejected even if you are a young version of Brad Pitt. But if you go to the same gym as someone you’re interested in, try taking it slow and building some kind of rapport before taking the plunge. And if the person isn’t interested, accept that it’s possible that it might be you or it’s possible that it has absolutely nothing to do with you and everything to do with the girl’s circumstances (her age, sexual preference, if she’s in a relationship, if she’s going away to school soon, etc). Rejection doesn’t always mean, “You’re fcking hideous, get away from me.” Although, in the case of the guy in this video, it definitely does. I’m sure his looks equally match his terrible personality
Hitting on and then yelling at a 17 year old in a gym, not a good idea. Like Xenoshot said, the vast majority of men don't act like this. I would like to add that those same men might step in and have a few words (or fists) with you if they see you acting like this.
To be honest, I am proud of this young lady. I would hope my daughter does the same as her and stand up for herself. I know the man is not only a creep but definitely an aggressive person who should be watched but I cannot get over how proud I am of her.
I never had a problem at the gym but I know people will be doing their own thing and zone out. Like, I will be replaying a convo in my head, making lists, or be really into my music while doing cardio. I probably look like I'm staring into the abyss. I know others are doing the same and I hate seeing people try to make it seem others are checking them out when they're not. I dont think cameras should be allowed at the gym unless you're just doing something quick to check out you own form. I'm glad Joey Swoll continues to call out these girls who are making people not want to go to the gym anymore. I have had to deal with a couple creeps like that guy before but never at a gym. Once you realize how bad they are you want to make sure you get away and are near as many people as you can be around. I won't debate them. I just dip. Safety first.
I once had a guy that kept staring at me from across the floor. Eventually he started following me around and holding his phone suspiciously. I went to the staff and they let me know he’s been getting constant complaints from women, but because he hasn’t approached them they can’t do anything. There’s real life examples everyday of creeps, these rage baiters on TikTok are gross.
this reminds me of the one woman who was alone in a gym with a dude and she literally had to FIGHT the guy. This guy seems like a person capable of a such actions.
Not 100% on this, but I’m almost positive if anyone walked up to staff and said “I don’t feel comfortable with that person recording me” and went into just a bit of detail, they’d basically be forced to either shut it all down or leave.
What a loser the first one was, I hate the internet for giving people like this the safety to be able to do smth like this Because these days, you read a caption about someone harassing a girl at the gym and you're like "eh probably fake"
I'm happy the first woman had her phone for sure but filming should be banned in public gyms. Sometimes it's useful to check your posture and progress but what their doing is entited, gross and just ruining the gym for people who just want to get the workout in. Really there should be private gyms for filming for their business.

I have never met a self proclaimed "nice guy" who was an actual nice guy
Being accosted by men is not rare at all. It happened to me almost daily when I was around this age. It was a rare day when I didn't get called a name because I didn't engage with a guy.
They'd even grab my hand walking by on the street and when I'd yell for them to not touch me, I'd get called everything u can imagine.
Even in my 40s when I was a bus driver they figured I was cornered and had to be nice to them. I got into it with several men who wouldn't leave me alone. The wedding ring didn't even stop them. So no, not rare at all.
I bet if you broke the demographic down further than simply just "men" you could probably find out how to avoid those types of interactions
"It happened to me almost daily"

Did he just say "17 is legally" WTH 😂😂😂😂 ... Hello 👋 Christensen Henson ... we got another one
Take a seat right over there
Its actually legal to date someone thats at the age 16 but, it's only in certain countries. It's weird I know but, in some countries they have the laws different.
It's called entitlement. This man feels he is entitled to date her because he gave her a compliment. And because of that he insists she dates him even though she is 17. Any of 17 is legal age to consent to sex. She still considered a minor because she's not 18 yet. But you know honestly this man is just one of those guys doesn't like being told no. He doesn't like hearing that word he thinks he's entitled to every woman in the world that he wants. And when he's told no he throws a conniption fit. And was a little tantrum like a little girl and complains. For the simple fact that he's not getting his way and what he wants. Will people in Hell want ice water but they're not getting it. So why does he need to get what he wants because he's a creepy pervert. The thing of it is he's trying to make her feel guilty for turning him down to those she feels pity for him and give him a Pity date. I'm glad she stood up for herself I'm glad she didn't fall from his bull crap. I'm glad she called about on it too. I'm glad she was strong enough to stand on your own two feet and tell him I'm 17 get away from me kind of. I'm just glad that she stood up for herself and didn't let him walk all over. And honestly if her I wouldn't have left the gym she has every right to be there.

That creepy guy needs to leave a 17 year old girl alone

I know others are doing the same and I hate seeing people try to make it seem others are checking them out when they're not. I dont think cameras should be allowed at the gym unless you're just doing something quick to check out you own form.
I'm glad Joey Swoll continues to call out these girls who are making people not want to go to the gym anymore.
I have had to deal with a couple creeps like that guy before but never at a gym. Once you realize how bad they are you want to make sure you get away and are near as many people as you can be around. I won't debate them. I just dip. Safety first.
