One of the biggest changes is something I've been asking for since 2k19, now if you are playing in classic if a superstar is not on the Raw roster, when you book matches they can't be selected. It's so much easier to keep track of who is where
Excalty my problem in universal mode when I want to change a fight I have to remember who's on what show and when you add in custom superstars depending on how many it's hard to remember everyone wish the brought that feature back there it divides them by there show in one of the brackets
Yeah. I believe it was 19, where when you selected create a match in universe, it would show you what brand they are on so you could remember. Last year, I put everyone on the same 3 shows so I wouldn't have to remember. Was a wild universe where The bloodline and Brock Lesnar were fueding every Tuesday on NXT and then fighting in the main event of smackdown while Brock is carrying all 3 world titles lol
Definitely one of those. I had a universe last year where everyone including the doubles were on every show, every day had a show, and 4 ppvs per month it was pure anarchy. This year I'm doing drafts because of they way they made it, but I'm also definitely doing another one of those I want to see the 9 John Cena's fight over the Universal Championship
I wish you could import wwe wrestler's to my rise that way it would be like season mode and something different instead of this same old creating a wrestler over and over over again. It's just boring that's why I'm not playing my rise this year. And next year and year's and year's after because it's boring.

I imagine that would involve a lot more voicework and animation and they've got nine months to churn these out, but it could work if you were limited to a handful of wwe wrestlers. This year the paths were second generation star and wrestler from another company, a third story focused on an established person would have been a cool third option.

I'm glad superstar mode is good this year. I personally love the sandbox aspects of the game and I've been waiting for a good superstar mode forever because it's basically smackdown 1 and 2 season mode, my favourite way of playing.
Superstar mode has some promise but I still think it could be much better. Two things to update. Rather than just clicking an option to challenge for a title, make it dependent on winning a certain number of matches against other contenders. And it should take longer to get to that point if you have a new or lower rated star, or custom superstar versus Cody Rhodes or someone like that who is already in the main event scene. That way it can be a real accomplishment to get to the top. They could even throw in that it would help if your star has a lot of 4 and 5 star matches. The 2nd thing I would update is throw some more variety into the rivalries. When I set up rivalries it just puts me in 3 or 4 consecutive one on one matches with the rival. It would be more fun if they had tag team matches including the rivals, or have 1 of them make a run in during the other's matches. Or mix things up with a gimmick match. Like a backstage brawl or something.
Vanilla superstar mode in my experience might as well be the damn house show circuit instead of the tv tapings. I picked Greyson Waller and decided to just play normally on NXT and see what the game gives me. I got into a rivalry with Carmello Hayes and, throughout every NXT show all the way to the first ppv I faced him in normal singles matches. In comes the ppv, another normal ass singles match! So I beat him in the ppv and then I assume that this has to be it, and I'll finally get to fight other wrestlers in different match types. Imagine my shock when I saw that, in the following NXT show, I was booked yet again against Hayes in a normal singles match. At this point I just decided to quit and switched right back to free mode. I have high tolerance to repetition but fighting with the same wrestlers, multiple times, in the same venue without even a clear finish line is too much for me, honestly.
Superstar mode has so much potential but it feels like you get title opportunities and stats upgrades way too often. Also, the matchups are kinda weird.
superstar mode in universe could actually work out as a text based season mode from the old smackdown games with backstage stories, factions, man and women alliances/romance stories etc..
Personally I believe they should combine MyGm and Universe Mode like NBA2K did it would just make it better overall and be the GM mode we all want with salaries, full control over everything or realistic control if you wanna do that, single superstar mode or run a brand, free agents, character importing, scouting, drafting/brand swapping and etc. the possibilities are endless if WWE2k were to do that it would make the game so much better
@@X24assassins yeah it was I remember the SVR games 2011 was my favorite but I don't think 2k will give us that level of detail and attention to the mode as SVR did they just the way of modern AAA games now but they can at least do what there other sports game is doing and give us that level of care NBA2K even has live updates so models are always up to date and rosters are never outdated until the next game comes out

Same. Just like how madden online franchise is I think that’s how it should look or at least a template. Scouting and salary would be very beneficial in seeing which division to put them in.
Not being in multiple divisions is super frustrating. Especially when it comes to tag teams. I can't be a tag team and chase a singles title at the same time. I almost feel like I need to make a 100% seperate show just for tag teams
I've noticed if you change brands in superstar mode it sometimes kicks you out of title divisions but easily fixed by changing to classic mode and inserting your superstar back into a title division.
Yeah think it’s just a dev oversight as it should ask you when you switch to choose the division you want to be in on the new brand, hopefully gets fixed

Created titles don't appear unless they're defended and managers don't either and now the ref counts super slow in Universe mode. The day 1 patch broke those features
I have noticed no managers unless I manually put them on. Ref count seems OK but wow its slow if you attack your ref during the match (like as if he's hurt/injued) pretty cool tbh. Had few glitches too like hands wobbling during a suplex outside the ring. Title match for ic title and then was two ic title belts like was the tag team belts with Gunther and his manager 🤣
I'm definitely gonna try this mode out again. I liked it in 2K22 but it was very buggy. Had to restart the game whenever I started a show and it had me start a match my selected superstar isn't even in. Couldn't even progress sometimes
I haven’t done much experimenting yet, I’ve only done 1 rival action so far my only complaint is I couldn’t change who the replacement was for the actual match, maybe I just wasn’t looking hard enough, but I keep the W/L records so it’ll bother me a little bit when I got a random guy taking Ws or Ls when that’s not what I drew up whatsoever 😂 really doesn’t affect anything other than my personal power rankings so maybe I’m just nit picking. 👀🤣
What personally frustrates me with 2K is specifically universe mode they can make it story designer if they wanted to and bring in universe mode elements which is what I feel like this is the start of but if they want a completely change the game why not just mold universe mode into story creator so you can create your own experiences or they could call it 2K experience mode I don't know it's just a thought

@@NO-bz6ti Right it's all the same 1v1 or 2v2 crap. The games not dynamic enough. Setting up rivalries shouldn't be stuck on having to be locked in a match with a guy on every card. It should be something that plays out in the background. You should be able to set as many rivalries as you want. Such as if I have Rollins in a rivalry with Cody. It already has the red R signifying that he's in a rivalry. So let's do Rollins vs Chad Gable. By default of Rollins being in a rivalry with Cody something should play out regardless depending on the level of the fued. Also factions are absolutely meaningless. If Roman has the faction the Bloodline he should be able to call them to the ring at different points in the match, all at once or one at a time. You can have up to 8 people on screen so run ins should be able to happen in any match as long as the 8 man threshold hasnt been reached. So if you have a 6 man ladder match you should still be able to have some kind of interference if you want. Another thing is a more dynamic referee who when knocked out stays out until someone does something decisive such as a pinfall, or weapon strike, and then goes for the pinfall. Then he should crawl over. And do the slow count. Also with interference If u were Roman you should be able to have someone distracting the referee on one side, and someone else, or multiple people hit the ring, and get shots in before the ref turns around. Last thing is DQs, and Count Outs. Just because these things happen doesnt mean it should be time to go back to the menus. That never happens in wrestling. DQs happen and guys keep going at it until someone pretty much gets the last word, or move, or cheap shot in. If I get counted out let me get in the ring, and hit my finisher. And Run Ins should still be possible even at this point. Sorry about the rant. 2K just always seems so one dimensional, and behind the times.
Thankful for this video because I would’ve just assumed superstar mode was as avoidable as it was last year. Based on everything explained this kinda feels like the natural succession from Wrestlemania 2000’s Road to Wrestlmania mode
i wish in classic mode when you choose a rival action you can choose the 1v1 but you cant sometimes youll want finn to start a rivalry with roman but the game will randomly choose something like roman vs elias just because you have a rival action for finn to do something later
I wish you could see the win loss/title records page for all the superstars in the sandbox mode. That would be really nice to be able to go into that and see how they are all doing.

I keep seeing comments on how the superstars are booked every week, even when not in a rivalry. This is one of the biggest issues with 2k and their devs. They're not into the small details, and the small details matter a lot. Because the more small details are there. The bigger the game seems. It makes it not feel lifeless. I've said it a million times. I don't think the 2k devs are really into wrestling. Or watch it every week. If they did, this game would be great! Great example of small details that matter. Just look at nba 2k. Over the years they've added small touches that impact in a huge way overall. Like immersion. Beating a home team in the 4th qtr by 30 points and you see the fans leaving. That's detail!
Me honestly I think they just bought the wwe game license to fund their nba more if they don't have to spend much money on wwe then they won't all that just goes in there 1st baby
Ya and even EA has implemented this same feature of home fans leaving the stadium if their team is losing 5-0 or more in FIFA 23. Everytime you score you will notice the stadium getting emptier.
It's a more basic version of FirePro wrestling options. Basically it allows you some control over how a wrestler acts. For example I didn't like that Jinder did a top rope shoulder block because he never gets on the top rope in real matches It's just not his style so I changed it so he will rarely ever get on the top rope.

Just tried superstar mode. I was Bayley. My first rivalry was against Rhea Ripley. No problem. We had 3 good matches, then 4, then 5. Ok.. then in curator mode I chose to have a championship match. It gave me one, but a tag team title match. It was myself and Dakota Kai.. vs.. Becky Lynch and Dakota Kai. I was having fake Razor and Diesel flashbacks lol.. I think this mode might need some 'tweaking'..

Universe is completely broken. Can't edit trio entrances, managers show up on the wrong side of the matchup screen and then don't even show up in the match. Rivalries are broken, they keep getting deleted, commentary doesn't match the rivalry cutscenes. Divisions are broken, superstars getting put into the other category randomly, some can't have their ranking adjusted, cpu constantly putting ppl from different divisions in matches. Status effects don't seem to be activating either. Referees are worse than last year.
Thank god they improved this mode, I played it for hours last year and it felt so shallow, constantly playing matches for no reason, the addition of the actions mixes things up perfectly
I immediately got catapulted into a tag team rivalry with Wes Lee against the Creed Brothers and I thought that was pretty cool for my first ever match in universe mode
The divisions in universe mode are glitched out for me. Superstars are constantly being taken out of their divisions and put into the other division and I'm not able to manually adjust the rankings
Managers in universe mode are bug as fuck when you create a rivalry if the one who has a manager on the match is on the right the manager appear on the corner from the other one during the loading screen & no manager during the match what the hell! + I notice Karrion Kross victory motion when we have Scarlett as a manager she didnt come to the ring to raise Karrion's hand like in 2k22 ! Funny the motion is available for a mix tag team victory... They need to patch this mess. xD
What bothers me is watching your gameplay footage it shows that there is still drastic slow down and I'm just wondering if that's still a big thing in the game because that's a serious performance issue
If u play superstar mode I feel like the actions should be random. I remember like wwe on ps1 or ps2 the universe mode events was random af made the mode more playable if I'm dictating my superstar rather just play the classic way. Superstar mode should be every u don't want to ctrl everything.
I've only got one issue with universe mode I've not been able to put stars on the other shows as it blacked out the stars from NXT and smack down when I was trying to make a match on RAW
2k22 whenever I used superstar in universe mode in the rare events it gave me a pre match cutscene it would glitch and I'd either be fighting no one or tagging with no one.
Did you notice they are uploading 2k22 creations to 2k23 creations and going one by one and deleting all the good ones that people spent hard work on maybe we can make them better but 2k should just upload everything right?
I picked LA knight and it threw me in a match with Gunther it says he's the top contender for the title he's whooped my ass twice legendary on this game is kinda fun.
I'm doing going to use Hogan and other legends to see if they can hang with the new generation like put them on a brand and just watch don't touch with the booking mess around with the rivalrys.
The only issue is that when I was doing the rumble and I competed in it for some reason it says that there is no over the top and I can’t even try winning it cause it doesn’t let you throw anyone over the top rope
Seems cool but at the end if the day it sill falls short of what i want. Alls i want is a story mode like here comes the pain. I dont even care if it has voice acting if its means having more options and dialogue optiona. I mean it was pretty crazy the options you had back then. Just imagine if they did that now but so so so much more room improvement and even more options and paths. It blows my mind just thinking about it. Universe mode is cool and its close to feeling like random stories are created but still in the end it doesnt lead anywhere. Theres no sense of progress.

I tried it. And if you arent picking your matches every week it can get super repetitive. I faced seth rollins like 6 times in a row. If they make it so the AI generates better matches it would be great

In 2k22 it was the same for classic universe mode, if you change a brand of a superstar then they won't belong in any divisions

It already has the red R signifying that he's in a rivalry. So let's do Rollins vs Chad Gable. By default of Rollins being in a rivalry with Cody something should play out regardless depending on the level of the fued. Also factions are absolutely meaningless. If Roman has the faction the Bloodline he should be able to call them to the ring at different points in the match, all at once or one at a time. You can have up to 8 people on screen so run ins should be able to happen in any match as long as the 8 man threshold hasnt been reached. So if you have a 6 man ladder match you should still be able to have some kind of interference if you want. Another thing is a more dynamic referee who when knocked out stays out until someone does something decisive such as a pinfall, or weapon strike, and then goes for the pinfall. Then he should crawl over. And do the slow count. Also with interference If u were Roman you should be able to have someone distracting the referee on one side, and someone else, or multiple people hit the ring, and get shots in before the ref turns around. Last thing is DQs, and Count Outs. Just because these things happen doesnt mean it should be time to go back to the menus. That never happens in wrestling. DQs happen and guys keep going at it until someone pretty much gets the last word, or move, or cheap shot in. If I get counted out let me get in the ring, and hit my finisher. And Run Ins should still be possible even at this point. Sorry about the rant. 2K just always seems so one dimensional, and behind the times.
Thankful for this video because I would’ve just assumed superstar mode was as avoidable as it was last year. Based on everything explained this kinda feels like the natural succession from Wrestlemania 2000’s Road to Wrestlmania mode

i wish in classic mode when you choose a rival action you can choose the 1v1 but you cant sometimes youll want finn to start a rivalry with roman but the game will randomly choose something like roman vs elias just because you have a rival action for finn to do something later
Universe mode has improved a bit I've been able to set up some cool rivalries with the new system except sometimes it's still a pain to work with.
Not happy with universe mode so far… why Trio entrances don’t work at all or victories either

Also rivalries never ends. Every PPV for 5 months were the same matches... Well at least in my Universe.
I wish you could see the win loss/title records page for all the superstars in the sandbox mode. That would be really nice to be able to go into that and see how they are all doing.
Another thing I miss is the championship statistics. Back in older 2k games you could see who won the title before etc.
tbh in 2k22 the mode i played the most was superstar mode, so I'm excited that they are building on it!

I keep seeing comments on how the superstars are booked every week, even when not in a rivalry. This is one of the biggest issues with 2k and their devs. They're not into the small details, and the small details matter a lot. Because the more small details are there. The bigger the game seems. It makes it not feel lifeless. I've said it a million times. I don't think the 2k devs are really into wrestling. Or watch it every week. If they did, this game would be great! Great example of small details that matter. Just look at nba 2k. Over the years they've added small touches that impact in a huge way overall. Like immersion. Beating a home team in the 4th qtr by 30 points and you see the fans leaving. That's detail!
Me honestly I think they just bought the wwe game license to fund their nba more if they don't have to spend much money on wwe then they won't all that just goes in there 1st baby
Ya and even EA has implemented this same feature of home fans leaving the stadium if their team is losing 5-0 or more in FIFA 23. Everytime you score you will notice the stadium getting emptier.

It's a more basic version of FirePro wrestling options. Basically it allows you some control over how a wrestler acts. For example I didn't like that Jinder did a top rope shoulder block because he never gets on the top rope in real matches It's just not his style so I changed it so he will rarely ever get on the top rope.

Just tried superstar mode. I was Bayley. My first rivalry was against Rhea Ripley. No problem. We had 3 good matches, then 4, then 5. Ok.. then in curator mode I chose to have a championship match. It gave me one, but a tag team title match. It was myself and Dakota Kai.. vs.. Becky Lynch and Dakota Kai. I was having fake Razor and Diesel flashbacks lol.. I think this mode might need some 'tweaking'..

Loading is amazing on this game and they fixed the update glitch NO MORE UPDATE GLITCH TO THE POINT WERE YOU HAVE TO REINSTALL THE GAME
Universe is completely broken. Can't edit trio entrances, managers show up on the wrong side of the matchup screen and then don't even show up in the match. Rivalries are broken, they keep getting deleted, commentary doesn't match the rivalry cutscenes. Divisions are broken, superstars getting put into the other category randomly, some can't have their ranking adjusted, cpu constantly putting ppl from different divisions in matches. Status effects don't seem to be activating either. Referees are worse than last year.

I immediately got catapulted into a tag team rivalry with Wes Lee against the Creed Brothers and I thought that was pretty cool for my first ever match in universe mode
The divisions in universe mode are glitched out for me. Superstars are constantly being taken out of their divisions and put into the other division and I'm not able to manually adjust the rankings
Women's tag team division doesn't work either
It kinda needs fixes including the manager and allies won't enter with u

I might do Superstar mode in another Universe slot and have a season/career mode for my channel, but I would probably have the A.I play everything.
Managers in universe mode are bug as fuck when you create a rivalry if the one who has a manager on the match is on the right the manager appear on the corner from the other one during the loading screen & no manager during the match what the hell! + I notice Karrion Kross victory motion when we have Scarlett as a manager she didnt come to the ring to raise Karrion's hand like in 2k22 ! Funny the motion is available for a mix tag team victory...
They need to patch this mess. xD

If u play superstar mode I feel like the actions should be random. I remember like wwe on ps1 or ps2 the universe mode events was random af made the mode more playable if I'm dictating my superstar rather just play the classic way. Superstar mode should be every u don't want to ctrl everything.
I've only got one issue with universe mode I've not been able to put stars on the other shows as it blacked out the stars from NXT and smack down when I was trying to make a match on RAW
2k22 whenever I used superstar in universe mode in the rare events it gave me a pre match cutscene it would glitch and I'd either be fighting no one or tagging with no one.
Is it possible to play Superstar mode with a buddy locally where they pick a superstar and you do aswell?
no unfortunately. you can play a match against a second human player but you cant go through superstar mode - co op

The only issue is that when I was doing the rumble and I competed in it for some reason it says that there is no over the top and I can’t even try winning it cause it doesn’t let you throw anyone over the top rope
Seems cool but at the end if the day it sill falls short of what i want. Alls i want is a story mode like here comes the pain. I dont even care if it has voice acting if its means having more options and dialogue optiona. I mean it was pretty crazy the options you had back then. Just imagine if they did that now but so so so much more room improvement and even more options and paths. It blows my mind just thinking about it. Universe mode is cool and its close to feeling like random stories are created but still in the end it doesnt lead anywhere. Theres no sense of progress.

I think 2k14 in the creative superstars had more silders in body adjustments
