- "Quickies" (Nonesuch)-out now digitally and on vinyl, with a CD release June 19-is the 12th album from the Magnetic Fields. As you might guess from the title, the often-theme-driven Stephin Merritt made a record consisting of very short songs-28 of them, in fact, ranging from 13 seconds to two-and-a-half minutes. The Magnetic Fields will play residencies at City Winery in seven U.S. cities starting in January.

I love his answers so much. Thank you for uploading this. I dont like the some of the interview questions though. They are questions which require absolute answers. So trite and uninspired to ask what is your favorite of almost anything when there are a multitude of possible degrees of answers to those questions. Who has just one favorite song? Better question, what are some of your most liked songs these days or what are some songs that you have really enjoyed recently. Take note children...

My view of him two nights ago @ City Winery was very similar as I was smack against the stage, right in front of him, but he was a on a stool - made for some interesting challenges as I tried to capture the moment ... ;-)
I saw him at the winery in Boston just a couple weeks ago!

@@magnettelevision3779 That makes sense - I was obsessed with both ES and MF in 1998-99; what a show that would have been.
"Sara" is edited more then 11 seconds, but maybe he talks about another track!
