We got to give it to SoProforund... Respect to the way he asks the questions... He is well versed in evry person he interviews even in what they know even tho he is much younger than most of them., he surprisingly knows what they know
So Profound has amazing interviewing skills. He gets so much out of his guests without pushing anything - you can tell he does thorough research on his guests. I just love how he really gets engaged in the stories being shared. From this convo, I learnt The Evolution of Music.
Delani’s father is the kind of dad I want to be to my kids someday. Great parenting skills. Thank you SoProfound for such a great interview. Delani is a genius who realized what he wanted to do from a very young age 👏🏼👏🏼
One of the best interviews . Dai maigona kuisa ma Shona subtitles . To reach a wider audience . Pane chikoro pa interview iyi. All aspiring producers would need to know this . Zvine chikoro mukati izvi .
Wow, Delani is way way too smart. Refreshing to finally know who Step Aside is after knowing him for so long when he was always behind the closed doors. Shout out to his dad too
Thank you SoProfound, l was waiting for a long time to hear Delani's story. Come back and give us more music Delani, the industry has a certain gap that only you can fill.
So Profound I'm not gonna lie you inspire a lot of guys like me out here I really love this one where we get back to the roots of music in Zimbabwe especially the urban grooves movement that kept us entertained for years.
This interview is not only about music. Its about life, shaping life, focus and building a career. His dad played a very crucial role which we can learn from unfortunately not for us but fortunately for our kids. The Chamhembe Story is a lesson on its own. A business lesson
Quite an enlightening interview this was. Thanks Soprofound and Delani and the behind the scenes crew. Learning about our history is crucial to understand the present and prepare for a progressive future.
Radio was huge back then, man. And it was good too. On some days radio was better than TV as an entertainment source. That Radio 3 top 20 show. It was loaded with jams and I never missed it. And its DJs were excellent presenters. I still remember Peter Jones' (may his soul rest in peace) jingles to this day.
Wooow i remember Guess did a song called Amai ....if I'm not mistaken...my all time fav Producer....Delani ...the songs you produced really stand out for me!!! I love urban grooves!!!
You are right. Matondo were UK-based. I remember them being interviewed during a visit to Harare. They spoke in a near perfect English accent. Tombofara was huuuge in 1995. I think it was number 2 on the radio 3 year-end top 100 that year - the only 'local' song to feature on that list. And yes, thanks for reminding us of Prep(aration)! lol.
Boys II Men was number two that year. I think it was either On Bended Knee or Water Runs Dry. That's how big Tombofara was. Competing for the attention of listeners on open airwaves and coming out number one.
Radio is dead so sad but we got so much education from it great personalities I heard from Radio Kudzi , Scott, Squila , Zhobha, Chilli , Bridget , Tinashe ,
They must have come way after Delani was already in the mix with Kudzi Marudza and them other Djs. Matter of fact, the ones you mentioned were TV shows, Delani and Kimble Rodgers' ones were on radio
when harare was still Salisbury?! how old is this dude? and the man was so tense throughout the interview.... dai ambo pihwa hake shot re Jack daniels asati atanga interview... kkkkkkk
why did he have to say his father was Zulu though, they're Ndebele...we come from the same village e Mat South. Or maybe it's because he now stays in SA?
SoProfound i feel u need to give your guest more time to respond to your questions instead of interrupting them. Some of the questions u asking,u seem to have the answers already hence you cutting off your guest.#jusmyview

It was number 1 on the Radio 3 Top 100. I used to write down the whole top 100.
Boys II Men was number two that year. I think it was either On Bended Knee or Water Runs Dry. That's how big Tombofara was. Competing for the attention of listeners on open airwaves and coming out number one.
@@GraduateZimunya hey!!? Do you still have the lists? I remember Freak Me by Silk was the number one in 1994, the year before.

Fortune (may his soul rest in peace) had a really good song called Maenza (Kanda Matombo) in 1995.
This is an important part of Zim music history. More of the same please.
Lol loved the Kimble Rodgers part. The guy knows and loves his music. So I take it Kimble Rodgers in the next one to be interviewed?

The GOAT. This man is very important. Am I right in thinking one of the three people you are going to interview is Professor Jonathan Moyo?

Isaac Chirwa is a legend. Even Mono Mukundu considers Isaac Chirwa to be a better musician than in him.
