I'm truly sorry to learn about Blinky and Ava; it's always tough losing beloved pets. Glad Spidey is still doing well! If you do decide to get another Tarantula I do think Mexican Red Knees are beautiful animals. Thanks for the update!

I will say that a couple of the Petcos by me it's been a pleasant surprise to find that there are staff who really care about the well-being of tarantulas they sell. Usually it's because one of the managers has tarantulas of their own. The downside is that getting larger specimens is often they are wild caught. For me it was worth it to get a slightly smaller sling and pay a little more from a trusted breeder just so I had the peace of mind.
I did see my local independent exotics shop had rose hair slings last week and it made me think of Miss Spidey. There are so many fun species out there that whenever you're ready for a new spider friend I'm sure you'll find the right one.
Of mine my G pulchra and my C versicolor have been a great mix of personality and steady eating. Almost always out anf about and doing things. My B hamorii I've only had two months and 6 weeks of that she buried herself. She's come out feisty tho and despite only being 1.25 inches already pushes her ping pong ball all over the place.

Hey Patricia, it looks like the other juvie in your Petco footage was a B. albiceps, the Mexican Golden Red Rump. I got a juvie female as my very first tarantula, and she's a hoot! Super slow grower, like the G. rosea. Avic avics are also a great option, fast growers, great eaters, and easy to find.
Whatever you decide to do, any animal is blessed to be in your care! Cheers and happy keeping 🙂

I think you and your channel are highly underrated, so please keep doing what you are doing. Based on the care books you have put out in the past, I think you probably have some ideas in mind for another tarantula. Although I don’t have them, Brachypelma is supposed to be a good genus, but some are “hair” kickers. Eupalaestrus Campestratus Pink Zebra Beauty Tarantula are supposed to be very good , but harder to find in any decent size. My favorite is G. pulchripes but that species may be too close to Spidey for your liking.

I found a bracypelma klaasi from petco about a month ago. They are about 4 inches right now... they are so calm and beautiful. So smitten with them i got a 3 slings and a 3 inch confirmed female coming in, if i was going to try my hand a breeding these little gems would be it.
So far they just stay in their hide, but if they are wild caught that's just what they do. I've seen other big name UA-cam tarantula channels say theirs is out all the time.
Anywho, I can not recommend checking these little darlings out more!❤

I did know your history already .I would recommend getting a Hardy fast growing sling that looks pretty . Something like nhandu tripepii or acanthoscurria geniculata would be my top recommendations . The very slow growing grammostola, brachypelma and aphonapelma are nice but of you were only getting one more then fast growing good eating and plenty of personality would be a nice contrast .I have over 80 now . There are some old worlds that could be interesting like the hapactera pulchripees they are slow in my experience and not really like other old worlds . Or you could go for some type of avic as that would make a nice contrast to keeping a terrestrial.

I’ve owned 2 tarantulas in the past 4 years, one I still have a female Grammastola Pulchripes/Chaco Golden knee and I used to own an unsexed (at the time) GBB that I gave to my friend and it turned out to be a male, I’d highly recommend for your next tarantula to get a Chaco Golden Knee mines is a total sweetheart, they are really great tarantulas especially for beginners (I’m not saying you are a beginner btw 😂) the GBB i really liked but he was extremely fast and was a massive hair flicker both species are great

Get a psalmopoeus cambridgei, they grow fast enough. Beware they do run fast as well. But always do your research as well. This be my first spider got her at 3/4in sling in 2019. She now very big 5in plus. And eats right from my tongs most occasions. Love your videos keep up the hard work. Also stay strong you got this tough times will pass. But you look like lady who knows stay strong so idk why I told you this oh well, until next time pretty lady 😘

It seems that you like NW terrestrials. Still, I notice that you got very slow growing species that are anorexic.
I'm thinking which of my current or former Ts would you like best.
I'd suggest trying a sling of P sp machala. ua-cam.com/play/PLTtzBsrmHu3fzSIolbrSfKTWK7qgzTvP_.html&feature=shared
Here's the playlist for mine, turned out male. They're a moist spider so keep some frog moss in the enclosure and a larger water dish. Water the frog moss 2x weekly.
They grow fast and are always hungry. They'll eat anything that moves. The hairs are to nasty. NEVER HANDLE!! But you don't do that anyway. Other members of the genus are $$$$$$
L klugi & A geniculata are good alternatives if the sexual dimorphism bothers you.
Keep them on genuine chemical free peat to avoid mold issues.
