- This video is about BMW E46 DSC and how to deactivate the traction control and stability control. They can be defeated in sequence first traction control then stability control. When all the systems are on the computer can take control of the throttle and use selective braking on individual wheels to counter act a spin.

Damn i am driving my e46 for 5 months now with both lights on and i am wondering why it spins when it's wet :D Now i know
One of your speed sensors might be out, that happened on my e36, I thought it was hella cool, my rear tires skidding out, till winter came along, spinning out in the rain got real annoying quick.
if the both lights are on without pressing the button, you probably need to check your brake discs and it has nothing to do with DSC
@@tablechair It is a dead DSC module(elecronic is dead inside) but it is a pain to switch it because it is infront of the driver side behind the engine.
A lex Mine came on and then went away when i turned it off. It happened again and it won’t go away, could it still be the brakes?

fwiw if/when the ABS system gets a fault, the entire DSC goes with it.
This means, if it happens while you're in a high speed corner, on a wet road, it will go instantly into track mode, instant drifting.
I used to engage this 100% of the time while driving but it also disengages ABS too, so beware.
However, the alternative in newer models is the car always going into limp mode. It's safer but at least with the e46's you can still get to where you need to be at normal speeds. Limp mode can be more dangerous in some situations.
Does anyone know how to turn it off without the button? I just bought a 325ci and it doesn’t have the button because the previous owner switched out the radio with a screen
why mine dont turn ebrake light on? i hold the 6 seconds and even more and the light dont turn on :\ any idea?

On some models holding it for 4 to 5 seconds keeps it locked on for a certain amount of time like you can't shut it off after so be careful and do your homework before going to town on all your buttons

All you have to do is undo you battery and plug it back in goes away

Hello my freinds.
My 2004 325i has a problem with the DSC button. When I press it, the triangle lights up on the electronic board, but the brake light does not light up with a yellow light. I tried pressing for a long time, but to no avail. Is there a solution to my problem or anyone who encountered this type of problem?

Does it fully 100% fully defeat stability control or is there still some intervention from the system?
Click once for half off and hold 4-5 seconds for fully off
